I LOVE Comedians with Guitars......You didn't tell me that part...COMPLETE 2/28/13 - Page 22 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Wow, looks like a great dinner. I'm glad you were able to sample that dish and make your own mind up. I'm sure I've had that before and I liked it. I was a bit shocked by how small the mushroom risotto was!
It is small. They had one listed for a lighter dinner and I thought it would be bigger, but Raphael said it wouldn't be. I started out thinking I would eat less tonight, but ate more.

This is the night we got the full Animators Palette show too. Our servers said we could move a little closer to the empty table next to us.
It darkened a bit and they had some things playing on the screen throughout the room.
The servers marched out.
And Mickey joined the fun.
That guy is one fast mover. He was up and down the aisle and I really had a hard time catching him.
That was a lot of fun, but it went pretty fast and honestly I don’t remember a lot of it already now. I will need to see this again to take more in.
Raphael and Luis posed for a few pictures then.
These guys were just great and so much fun.
Luis was giving us some wise advice.
After dinner, Lisa headed back to the room, but I wasn’t ready yet, so I set out on my own. I went and checked the weather on deck 4.
It was no longer raining, so I headed up top for some more night time shots.
I just love seeing the ship all lit up.
It was pretty quiet up here again tonight.
I love the Moon.
I think I roamed around for about 30 minutes or so and then headed back to the room. As I opened the door I saw a piece of paper on the ground. As I picked it up I saw it had a note on it. It was an excursion sheet and Brook and Carolyn had left it for me and said they ended up signing up for the Ruins and Tequila tour for the next day. They had it circled and told me to get to the desk early if I wanted to go and sign up for it. I was sure at that point. It sounded fun, but yet, I don’t really drink much, especially tequila. Lisa was sleeping, but woke up when I came in. I told her about the excursion and she told me she didn’t want to go, but she didn’t care if I went. I decided I would see if I woke up early enough in the morning and then go from there. Of course that left me thinking about it all night and I slept so badly. I kept waking up thinking I missed getting up, only find that only 20 minutes had passed. I should’ve just told myself yes from the start and I am sure I would’ve slept better.
I'm impressed that you got those clear photos of Mickey during the AP show. I've never managed anything but a blur. And your night-time photos of the ship are so beautiful!

I know. He was moving so fast and most of the ones i got were a blur or he had a hand in his face, or his backside.

It was. I am so happy to have gotten to experience this version.
I had not slept well the night before and I think I just gave up around 6 AM. I got up and dressed and made my way to see if I could sign up for the Port Adventure. I just knew after a sleepless night, I was meant to go on this excursion. I can’t remember if the desk was open this early or not, or if I came back a little later, but I am thinking it was. I do remember the girl I had to sign me up was not real quick at doing it. Even though I had the paper with the one I wanted circled, she seemed to have issues finding it. But I finally was signed up.
Time to watch us pull into port.
It was such a beautiful morning and the sunrise was so nice to see. A few cast members were excited about our arrival too.
There were more people out on deck this morning too.
I really enjoyed watching us dock.
The sky was just beautiful.
I took a couple of shots of the sports deck, as I wasn’t sure if I had taken some earlier in the trip. When you take as many pics as I do, you do forget what you have taken.
Around 6:40 I went and got a quick bite to eat.
And then I went back up top.
I then went back to the room to gather my things and let Lisa know I was going to head off the island. She was going to stay on the ship and then when I got back the plan was to get back off the ship together and look around.
I went to our meeting spot and waited for the other girls.
Brook, Carolyn and Shelly all arrived soon after. They said Susan was going to stay on the ship today as well.
A round 8 we headed out.
They had these bike carts to carry people back and forth, for a cost, of course.
I turned back to get a picture of the ship, but got my friends in there as well.
Beautiful morning sky! I went on an excursion in Puerto Vallarta that included a tequila tasting. I'll be interested to read about the Cozumel version.
Beautiful docking experience. The sky and the dock sure looked inviting. Hope it was. Your pix in AP were very good. Is that restaurant really that dark and grey?
I've been enjoying reading your TR as it is. After talking to my husband today, we are really debating a Disney Cruise in June 2014 or Disneyland Christmas of 2014. I'm following your TR even closer now.
