As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

My cheese trio...My favorite was the one in the middle, but I can't tell you what it was...I'm not an adventurous cheese eater...I mainly eat sharp cheddar cheese...but it has to be Tillamook! Best kind...anyway...it was good cheese.
We both had the same main dish...
Belle has always been my favorite Princess...she reads a lot, and she's a little bit different. That's me! I didn't like my other princess pictures.
I like this window on the stairs. (We took the stairs back down.)

It is interesting how some people have zero clue as to who is around them...that man at the dessert party would have ticked me off too! At least that nice 16 year old made up for it! Can't wait to hear more about your trip.

That was really nice of the 16 year old to help you out. I am kind of surprised it was the adult that was rude, and that age kid that was helpful...in a sort of pleasantly surprised way, but at the same time disguisted with that adult. Weird.
I'm glad that you didn't give David a hard time about going back to the resort to rest for a bit. One of the good things about staying 2 weeks, you were able to do that and still rest up when needed. Would have been not as good if you only had 5 days. Yay for 2 week trips!
I like Davids shirt too, in fact I actually looked at either that very shirt, or one very similar to it, but didn't end up getting it.
Sounds like a very nice first day, with the exception of that rude guy. You got some great pictures!
For someone taking things on the easy side you folks sure packed in an awful lot in just 1 day. Too bad about some of those adults you encountered along the way but the young man and the woman at dessert party help renew my faith that there are some people left in the world that know what true manners are

Wow, that's your idea of taking it easy? Aaah, youth! Seriously, this is fun to read, not only because the two of you are obviously really having a great time, but because I keep thinking how wonderful it will be when Briana is old enough to read this. She'll see how much the two of you loved each other and her, even before she was born.
You know? I have been thinking about this off and on today, so I decided to come and write it, so I will stop.
When you brought up the room orientation I thought about it for us...and would you believe that we have always, and I mean always...in 2005, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 have had a room with beds on the left. Isn't that weird? I thought about it and it would be really weird to have them on another side. I agree. Makes me wonder if I should start requesting beds on left side of room too!
Idk, bc all the other times were just a chance thing. Weird. Anyhoo, maybe now, I will stop thinking about how weird that is.
You all had an awesome first day, especially with it being MK! Bummer about David's sword and that pushy, lazy dude. I think Luke has the same t-shirt as David.

Yes, that kid was very nice, and the man was very.... not nice.

I always have to remind myself when we take a long trip that I don't have to do it all in one day. I just like to be on the move!

MK as our first park always equals an awesome first day at the parks!

It really does seem like we crammed it all in there, doesn't it? To be fair, this day was our fullest. The rest of the days were slower. That's kind of how we always seem to do it - a very full and busy first day followed by (somewhat) less packed days later on.

Yeah, and I think he felt a bit better as the day went on. We have decided it's not him being sick as his allergies reacting to something in the air down in FL. So we loaded him up with Sudafed during the day and Zyrtec and Benadryl at night...that seemed to help. Although he joked that he felt like he was such a pill popper on the trip with all those meds in his system. We're going to look into getting some prescription strength allergy pills from the doctor before we go down again - maybe they'll have something stronger so he only has to take one thing.

This day absolutely wore me out! But it was taking it easy compared to what we usually do...mainly because we didn't cram in Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain, and missed the People Mover and Carousel of Progress and the Laugh Floor...Most trips we only really spend one day at MK, because it is David's least favorite park. It felt so strange not running from one thing to the next. I think it helped that we got to the parks so early - we were able to do a lot because there were very few lines, if any at all. I'm very excited to show our trip reports to Briana later on. And to experience the World with her!

I guess we did, didn't we? Lol! It didn't seem like that much at the time, until I got back to the resort feeling like I'd run a marathon.

Isn't that so strange, how you don't really think about it until it changes? It totally threw me off!

MK is the best! I love that shirt, and so does David. He picked it because he loves to draw and sketch, and it reminded him of sketch art.
