A Princess Only Trip.......UPDATED 12/25/12 - Page 6 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sounds like a great day! I too loved the Osborne lights. I was awestruck. Coolest thing ever! I didn't shed tears like I did at the castle lighting, but it was still super cool. I was just telling DH that the pics I took, or any pics I have ever seen don't do either any justice what so ever. You just have to see it, to get it.
@ "It's not a tough question!" I loved the food at PTC, so good!
Can't wait to hear all about your MK day, my favorite park!

Yea it sounds like a fun day and all, but I just can't believe you scheduled yet ANOTHER day in this trip where you would not see Cinderella! When I plan a trip a Cindi-Free day is something I go to great lengths to avoid!
Sounds like you had an awesome experience at 50's PTC. Your "cousin" sounds right on character. I love the Osborn Lights. Probably my favorite part of the holidays at WDW.

Day #5/November 19th 2012
I do have to say this is a long day for the TR......lots of pics. Back to Magic Kingdom today! We arrived just at park opening, note to self.......always, always always arrive BEFORE park opening! The crowds were really starting to pick up for the holiday week. We got in and snagged some fast passes for the Princesses and headed off to see Tink. I couldn't wait to see her! I just hoped that her sister Periwinkle would be with her. The line had already started to form but we jumped in. About a 20 minute wait but to see Tink that was still a bargain! Cheyenne was itching to ride some rides and made no secret about how she felt. However, she knows my relationship with Tink and that waiting to see her was completely non-negotiable. As we got closer I felt the anticipation, "would she recognize me?", "would she have winter attire on?", "I hope she is a spunky Tink", "should I show her my tattoo?". My thoughts were quickly interrupted by an anxious 13 year old who said "after this can we ride Splash Mountain?". Oh good grief! Seriously.....my Tinkerbell thought process interrupted by Splash Mountain!?!?!? So I calmly explained to my darling daughter that until we seen Tink......THE REST OF THE WORLD DID NOT EXIST!!! LOL. She looked at me like one of 2 things were going through her head. #1 "Ok, I will just maintain coolness and then I can go ride the rides" or #2 "My mother is crazy, has lost her mind!!" My vote is probably the later one.....but I am good with that!
Soon they let us past the roped area and we were in the holding area. OOhhhhh I knew she was just around that leaf covered wall. I wanted to peek sooooooo bad. This is where Brent usually encourages me to peek, then tattles to the CM that I peeked and gets me in trouble! (kinda missed that....) As soon as we were let around the wall.........there-she-was! Beautiful! Sassy! And welcoming. Ahhhhhh, my beloved Tink.
I just couldn't wait to hug her! I rushed up and we chatted, she totally loved my Tink shirt that I had on that Brent had made on a previous trip!! We shared some sassiness. I showed her the scarf that I had brought to get signed for Brent.....she said it was nice but it would be better in green. She said she could use that scarf in some of her Tinkering. She posed with Chey and I for some pics.....Chey just refused to smile, despite Tinks coaxing, she isn't a big smiler. Tink looked at me and said, in her loud, joyful voice, "Whats wrong with this one, she's broke, she forgot how to smile!" We had a great time with her and soon it was time to move on to Perri. Peri was so friendly! She asked where we flew in from and I told her Michigan, she said she liked it there because of the snow. She can have the snow!! She also signed the scarf, she said it would look good on her for the cold weather. After that we bid the fairies a temporary farewell and headed back over to Town Hall to see the princesses. When we went into the room I saw a CM we have gotten to know named Beverly. We were both so happy to see each other, there were lots of hugs and catching up. She immediately asked where Brent was and I explained that we were taking trips with each set of children but that we hoped to be back for a trip together in December. She laughed and said "you two won't be able to stay away that long......". I introduced Cheyenne to her and they talked a bit. Cheyenne pointed to the princesses and said "Hi, I am the child of stalkers.". Beverly laughed and told her how much her mom and dad meant to them and that she always looked forward to our trips. She explained how you are never too old for the magic and told Chey she was lucky she had parents who still "got it". Cheyenne took a pic of us together. Soon it was time to approach the princess line up. First was Rapunzel, she was fun and friendly. Then it was Aurora. I am noticing that Belle is more illusive that normal......I do miss her. Then it was her.....enchanting and inviting. I immediately went up and hugged her. And I hugged her tight and long! She was just beautiful, as usual. She was a very fun Cinderella. Very giggly and playful. I, of course, told her all about Brent and she said she remembered him. Beverly even came over and was telling her how Brent is her biggest fan ever! Cinderella signed a special pic for him and wanted to add a "special kiss from across the miles". She looked at me and winked and said "you don't mind do you?". I told her I not only didn't mind but I encouraged it and would send him a pic! She made a great big "mmwaaaahhhh" kissing sound and puckered up, put her lips up to the back of the pic she had just signed and left a lovely print of lipstick lips on it! After than we posed for a few pics with her. We chatted a few more minutes with Beverly and assured her we would stop back in before we left. She made us promise to tell Brent hello and that she misses him. Once again, she told Chey how much her mom and dad meant to her and her princess friends. It was so nice. I felt all warm and homey. Just once again, wished Brent was there to enjoy it.
At this point I felt like my little blonde headed wonder had been patient enough with all of the meetings so we were off to ride the rides! The lines were definitely longer so it took longer to navigate the park. I think we road everything except the Tea Cups ....which I WILL NOT ride and Splash Mountain since it was so cold. We did POC 3 times, people mover several, COP a few times, Chey's fave-Space Mountain. I was laughed at for screaming on the Barnstormer.....lol. We even watched the Hall of Presidents show. Proud parent moment here.....Cheyenne was really into it and knew some interesting facts during the show.
More pics of our travels this day.....
We had every intention of doing as we normally do and heading back to POP for an afternoon rest.....the day just got away from us and we were playing too hard. We decided to just stay in the park all day. Soon it was time for our opening day/opening time Be Our Guest ADR!!!!!! We got there plenty early. It was soooo exciting! They did a really neat grand opening presentation and 4 servers came out to greet the first 4 guests. I know everyone waiting hoped that they were one of them.........WE WERE!!!! Our waiter quickly gathered us up and marched us thru the door, proclaiming to the dining room that we had arrived. There were CM's lining both sides of the entrance to the castle, they were clapping and cheering. We felt like stars. It was quite an amazing site. Then they told us we would be dining in the West Wing!! Yay!!!!!! Our server paraded us thru the ballroom and up into the West Wing. It was more gorgeous that I even expected. I can't even begin to describe how much you feel like you woke up in the middle of a Beauty and the Beast movie! The West Wing was nothing short of amazing. The rose was there, a petal fell every so often and when it "thundered" the pic above the mantle would turn from the Prince to the Beast. It was so regal and just an absolute treat to be there. Our server told us the Master of Ceremonies would greet us after we were done. We both enjoyed the cornish hen meal with a decadent dessert that you select from a glass show case that they bring to your table. About midway thru our meal there was some music and an announcement that the Master of Ceremonies had arrived. Beast stormed in to the West Wing.......he swooshed his cape and hurried off to to his quarters. When we were done we were escorted to the Beasts quarters to have pics with him. It was really just amazing. Chey must have told me at least 10 times during this meal how happy she was that her and I did this trip and how much fun it was. Made it all worth it. I couldn't believe how HUGE the Beast is! (yes, if you look close, I AM on my tip toes in the pic! LOL) The pics will show it. He was very cordial. I told him how I missed seeing Belle as much this trip but I knew she was busy. After seeing the Beast you go down a hallway lined with guards that are wearing those metal armored suits. The name escapes me but here is a pic. They actually interact back and forth across the hall as you walk thru. Here are the rest of the pics from BOG.....
After dinner, and still in amazement, we rode a few more rides, enjoyed the night atmosphere and stopped at the candy store on the way out for Cheyenne's much yearned after Caramel Apple. She had been eyeing it up for days. It was a wonderful and exhausting day! We walked around POP for a bit and went to bed for an early ADR the next morning.
Tomorrow........WOW!! What a day! Don't want to ruin the surprise but Brent gets some more Disney love.........VERY UNEXPECTED Disney love. And I was given a simple message for Aurora........that can't be too hard....can it!?!?!?

Well.....the Cindi encounters I do have are quite touching. And Honey, you don't have Cindi-Free days at HOME, why would you have them at Disney?! LOL. Which I am happy for cause I just love that in you.
I love Tink's comment about Cheyenne not smiling. I was thinking the same thing: does that girl ever smile? It must be a teenage thing. You know, you're not cool if you smile. Sounds like your dinner was fantastic. Can't wait to hear the rest.

I figured her lack of smiling was just the age as well.
