A Princess Only Trip.......UPDATED 12/25/12 - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great day! Fyi: If you ever head to GA; don't ask for an elephant ear or a waffle cake (never heard either of those references)- but rather ask for a funnel cake

Sounds like a great day at AK!! I love the Christmas trees they put in Camp Minnie Mickey. How funny that Cinderella was the movie playing at the pool.
Love elephant ears! (yes, we are Michiganders too!) I thought they called them "funnel cakes" though? Either way - still good eats! Another great day - I love AK!
sounds like a nice AK day. Never heard of a waffle cake. We call them funnel cakes as well. I have heard of elephant ears but they are more like a thin, flat, oblong (shaped liked an elephant's ear) pastry. almnost like a danish without any filling.
Location: Physically stuck in Michigan while my heart and soul reside in Disney.....

Day 3/November 17th 2012
Ahhhh, today I get to go to my much missed, highly anticipated, EPCOT!! I was very excited! We arrived early since it was AM EMH, which generally we try to avoid but this was the day we could get an Akershus reservation and that is a must for both of us. Immediately upon entry we did what any experienced Disney guest would do......headed for Soarin! Loved it! I can still smell the oranges when I think about it. I just love the end of it where Tinkerbell makes that 'pop' noise over the castle! "Thanks for flying with us, enjoy your day at Epcot!"
From there we went to The Land, that just never gets old. I think I could ride that boat around all day!
About this time it had occurred to Cheyenne that she hadn't eaten in like an hour and a half, some wonderful smells were drifting up from the Seasons Cafe. We gave in to temptation and went to take a "look", a look became a curiosity and a curiosity became a taste, a taste became a snack, and there we were, headed back to the table with a calorie laden food sin. We must have worked that off with all the walking that day though, right? Ohhhh it was delish! Simply delish! Pictures are worth a thousand words...... Somewhere in our travels this morning we found the infamous phone booth.......ta da!
It was getting close to our brunch reservation at Akershus so we took a walk around the world to Norway. We were both pretty excited about this one. While waiting in line I was recognized by a nice CM that Brent and I met in a previous trip who was noted for saying "Michigan is a nice place to be FROM!" Here is a pic with her.
Belle was in the Lobby area greeting guests. It was very welcoming to see her, she is quite scarce at MK Town hall now that she has all her activities in Fantasyland to oversee. She said it did keep her quite busy but that Beast was very good about helping out.
Once seated at our table it wasn't long and we were in the middle of Princess paradise! You could almost smell magic in the air. Very first thing we were greeted by the Lady in Blue, herself, Cinderella. She was amazing. I told her all about Brent and she was so disappointed that he wasn't there. She signed a blue scarf for him that I brought along to get signed. I asked if we could get pic of her alone and she posed with the scarf here. Next it was Ariel. We told her how much fun her new area and ride were in MK. She was delighted that we liked it so much!
After Ariel was my glorious Snow White..........she was so friendly and chipper.
It wasn't long after that we heard the parade music start up! Yay.......a Princess parade! All the kids looks so adorable. What?!? What was I seeing as Cinderella came up nearer to our table. She was waving to get my attention. She stopped and posed, BLOWING A KISS!!!!! She said "Here is a kiss for Brent....". I was almost too shocked to grab my camera! I wish I would have grabbed my traditional camera for a better pic. I was thinking quick and grabbed my phone camera so I could send it to him....not the best pic quality but still a remarkable pic. I am telling you....the princesses just crave him!
We went to seek out Mulan! She remembered Brent and I too!
Then on to see Aurora!
We found some very cool Bambi art. More holiday decor.
And posed for some pics.....my pretty girl!
We went back POP for an afternoon break and found these incredible cupcakes! A friend was telling me about an ice cream sundae she had recently with bacon pieces on it and this treat had those. She swore the sweet and salty was good together and it was!! Choc cupcake, peanut butter frosting drizzled with caramel and chocolate topped with bacon pieces. Amazing! I just had a bite since I was still feeling indulgence guilt from earlier.
We walked around the 'world' 3 times! It was so beautiful at night and decorated for Christmas! Just couldn't get enough of it that night. And on the way around I found Snow's Wishing Well and made a wish of my very own!
