As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Your nephew is adorable! I really adore the Royal rooms. I can't wait to hear more...I still have over 40 hours before my plane takes off...so please keep using your weather mojo and keep the rain away.
THANKS!
Now I gotta go pack...
I am now caught up. I started reading this last night at about 1am. I was laughing my fool head off!! I had to go to bed since I was working at 6am. So now I just started all over again...laughing my fool head off again!!!
You were on DME coming and I was on DME going...sad, very sad!!
I love your room!! It is awesome.
Congrats to your parents...and honestly they do NOT look old enough to have been married for 50 years!!!
Pixies for the rest of you week weather wise....I can't wait to read all about it!!!
Great update. Isaiah is a cutie pie. Looking forward to more, and glad you scared most of the bad weather away. All of the other Disney patrons should be thanking you
Well isn't this just grand.......looks like we will be missing you by just a few days.........again
Glad everything is off to a great start, I just love your nephews, they are so adorable, and Happy Anniversary to your parents. I just love the name Mabel too.........beautiful couple.
OK, enjoy your time and if you want to talk your DN's into staying a few extra( extra) days......go right ahead
I just found this thread and got super excited because for the first time ever I'll actually be in the parks at the same time you are! We'll be getting in late Saturday night (the first) and spending Sunday at Magic Kingdom and Monday at Animal Kingdom and Epcot. I'm really shy, but if I see you I'll try to work up the courage to say hello and at least snap a quick picture. Now, off to read the rest of the thread!
LOL! Yep, that was us! We grabbed hotdogs at Casey's . We're heading to Epcot a little later to try and avoid some of the rain. I'll text you when we get there so we can figure out somewhere to meet....
I can't believe we were in the same pavilion and didn't manage to meet. The boys were itching to ride something exciting after lunch and then LWTL. Maybe we'll get another chance.

We did pretty well! It was a planned late morning for us anyway, and I guess we missed most of the heavy stuff. It stopped raining almost as soon as we got to Epcot! Nobody even had wet shoes or anything.

Any hoot................looks like you had a great arrival day!!! Glad to hear that Isaac is giving some slack to those who like to share the magic of WDW and that it hasn't been too bad there for you! Hopefully he continues that path............although I really wish he would just completely disappear and leave everyone alone
Your family - especially Dad looks like they are just having a GREAT time!!!! That pic of your Dad is fantastic!!!! keep them coming!!!
Have a great day at Epcot today!!!
I suspect the Royal rooms are going to get more popular! And Isaac is being a big pest! I feel the same way you do! DF is having a ball - we all are! So far, the only disagreements have been between Isaiah and Daniel. And that's totally normal! They just love to push each others' buttons. It got much better yesterday after I remembered to let them taking turns using my iTouch.

It must be! Anything that makes you happy must keep you young!

If he were mine, I'd take him with me on every trip, he just looks like he's so much fun!
I'm going to show my parents all these wonderful comments. Although, maybe I shouldn't - they might get big heads. They are loving all the attention it's getting them in the parks. And I'm loving that they're loving it!

It actually wasn't very bad at all! Thanks for the rain dance.

It was more like the animals were doing interesting things. Any "inappropriate" animal behavior that can happen, I witnessed it! Well, except that!

That's so weird! It never got too bad at Epcot while we were there, there weren't even big puddles to avoid. And it pretty much stopped raining for good about 1 or 2 o'clock. I guess my mojo is stronger than I think!

That's a perfect description of Isaiah. And he's also charming as heck, so he gets his way A LOT. But his enthusiasm is so cute. I rode Spaceship Earth with him, and he was waving like mad at all the AAs. I couldn't convince him they weren't real people! After a while, he told me he was going to stop waving because the people were mean and wouldn't wave back! I did finally manage to convince him they weren't real. Unfortunately, I told him they were kind of like robots, and now I think he's worried that they will take over like in a sci-fi movie or something!

Sigh. Every time that happens I get more mad at myself for screwing up when I could've met you! And DM hates her name! I'll tell her you like it, though!

Mickey's so happy to see me back, he can barely contain himself!
First, I need to apologize for my lack of photos for yesterday. Between the rain and me letting my DSIL take many of the photos, I don't have much of my own. But once I have hers and the Photopass pictures, there will be plenty for the actual TR!
We had another great day yesterday! It rained in the morning, but it stopped for good shortly after we got to Epcot! We took off our ponchos when we had lunch and never had to put them back on again.
Speaking of lunch, a few CMs sang a song to my parents for their anniversary.
They've been eating up the attention with a spoon! Especially DM! I am thrilled, because DM is the kind of person that doesn't let any of us do anything special for her! I have to fight to treat her to lunch!
We hit the highlights at Epcot, with the biggest hit of the day being Sum of All Thrills for my thrill-loving nephews. Dinner was a HUGE hit! Our chef must've been blushing with how everyone was telling him how good the food was. Even Isaiah was like, "this is delicious!"
Noah thinks it will be his favorite meal of the week (and he was slightly nervous when he first learned it was Japanese food).
We ended our day at Epcot the same way it began, with a trip through SE! The first time we rode, the camera didn't take my picture (or anyone else in our car), but the second time, when I rode with Daniel, it worked! And I figured out that it is my very dark hair that causes huge chunks of my head to be missing. The secret to beating that - a baseball cap! Here's our video.
After returning from the parks, the boys, DM and I spent some time at the pool. The pool was too cold for me but the hot tub was delightful! In all, a fabulous day.
Today, I see sunshine instead of clouds for the first time in a while.
My good weather mojo lives on, but unfortunately, my bad electronics mojo also lives on. The culprit this time is my cell phone. It's failing to send texts sometimes. I sometimes have to retry 5 or 6 times to get a text to go through, even when I have full bars and am able to make a phone call. And sometimes it fails so many times, I just give up. Maybe because I got it wet the day before I left for vacation. Sigh. Oh well, it was a cheap phone, and I'm due for a new one anyway!
We're planning DHS today, with a visit to DTD as well. If we get going early enough, we'll go to DHS first, if not, we will start at DTD and then spend the rest of the day in the park. Hoping it won't be too busy so we can get in plenty of drops! Dinner is at 50s PTC, so I'll be sure to be on my worst behavior!

Sorry about the phone but I'm glad the weather mojo is working. That's a cute video. I haven't seen that scenario before. I hope y'all have a good day with plenty of drops!
Sounds like another wonderful trip! I'm glad your weather mojo is still working, but it makes me nervous for my December trip. I think you arrive just as I'm leaving (again!), which means the sunshine should arrive then as well!
Registered Message Board Members save 30% off PassPorter guidebooks! When you register you'll have access to a discount coupon good for 30% off the list price of PassPorter books in our online store.
If only you could bottle up your weather mojo and sell it. I'd buy it for sure!

Bummer on the phone! I hope we just run into each other on Sunday then.
Loves the SSE photo. And how great your parents got a song sung to them in the Land!
