PTR....Universal Adventures of Dreams and an Expanding world part 2 - Page 18 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I started some packing. Still have a ways to go, but there is stuff in my suitcase now.
I also "splurged" and bought new underwear yesterday. I hate buying that kind of stuff, but it was time to restock, and Victorias secret had a sale for 7 pairs for $26.
Also paid a visit to the Disney store yesterday with Mom. She bought some stuff for the littlest niece, Abby. Her b-day is this month, so she picked up a few cute outfits. She also picked up a $25 gift card for the 3 girls for the cruise. I love it, because the more money Claire has, the less money I have to put ut for her to buy her "wants." Claire is usually pretty good about keeping things down to a minimum, I can't complain there, but it's nice when she has her own gift cards to purchase it with.
I have finished the pillowcases for signatures. I was not real happy with them. I seem to be going backwards with my techniques and getting worse instead of better.
Here they are. Bascially almost all the Mickey heads turned out as blobs, so I fixed them with a paint pen.
This one I messed up on royally. the colors were supposed to be blue and green...but I accidently mixed in a scoop of blue with the green color and it came out still looking blue. then it bled so badly that I didn't get much white space for signatures. So I went back with a belach pen and whited out some Mickey heads...that bled terribly and I just got white blobs. So I then went back and outlined some Mickey heads with a pait pen...and that pen was not cooperating and smearing. But it's not too bad. I'll probably have Claire use this one since she already has a nice case with signatures already.
I might also send a tote for them as well. I had one I made on Vista print from last year, and it just needs a wash and it will be perfect to use.
This is it. She has used it though, so it does need to be washed and ironed.

Holy cow.....I just realized I am in the teens now for my countdown...that went fast.
And less than 2 months till the next vacation.
I made another purchase yesterday...nothing big...but I am always worried about battery power, so I bought an extra battery for my waterprrof camera. I have been meaning to do this for the last year, and finally decided to do it yesterday. It was very cheap actually, so it didn't break the bank. Since I dod plan on snorkeling on both cruises, I figured it would be best to be sure I have enough power.
We went to our local fair today for a couple of hours. It's a big event around here. We made a stop off in the building with the photography contest photos. Years ago I had entered several and actually won with a few of them, but over the past few I always forget about it. I must remember next year. I just love looking at the pictures entered and miss being in the fun. Even if I don't win, it's a fun thing to enter. There were some amazing photos. My goal is to take a few good ones on our trips and get them blown to 8x10s right away so I have no excuses and have them on hand when the time is ready. Thats my biggest downfall about entering. I usually think about it and don't want to hassle with getting the prints all printed up and matted in time for the fair.
Tomorrow is another fair day. Claire has school off or it and it wil lbe "ride" day for her....though looking around today, the rides really aen't too fabulous in selection. But it will make her happy and hold her off for a few months till we can ride "real" rides...together.

I am still alive...Life has just been busy and I am trying to catch up on that fast moving train.
I have made the decision to rent a car verses using Disney transportation for my Sept. cruise. I did some research and the prices are gonna be about the same for me at this point in time. This actually will work out better in a few ways. For one I don't have to shuttle back and forth from pre stay hotel to the airport. Which means lugging luggage through the airport as well. I can pick up the car and go to the hotel and only take up what I need (OK, I might need it all. but I'll deal with that) and then we can also drive somewhere for dinner and or breakfast in the morning. I can be assured that I get to the port when I want to verses waiting on a bus to decide for me. Also on the way home, we can relax, maybe get lunch before heading back to the airport for our afternoon flight. With Disney, we wil lmost likely get their fairly early and then have to wait several hours. So it's basically a control thing. I tried calling Disney this morning to cancel my transfer...and of course they are experiencing high call volumes, with a good 15 minute wait (probably because the website has been out of whack for a week now). So I'll call back later and do so.
Claire started school on Aug. 15th. It's just os early and I was not ready to have her go back. She was excited for exactly one day and after that it has been the same routine of dragging her out of bed every morning.
Here are a few pictures I took that morning.
In July, skip's brother got married. He had a park wedding and then a reception near by. The photographer just posted pictures online and I bottlegged a few.
I absolutely love this one.
And this one was taken with my camera of us. It took like 3 people and 15 shots for someone to get it right and now totally chop off heads or blur it so bad that we had 3 mouths.....how hard is it to take a picture guys.
