As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

My sister and I would like to try out the Fire and Ice Pedicure on the Dream. I can't seem to find too much information about it other than the description given during the online check-in.
Does anyone have an opinion on this that would help with our decision? Was it worth the $70? Any inside info would be appreciated.
My DH, DD and I are traveling with my sisters and their families (their first cruise) in 32 days!! We are so excited!
I'm glad you asked because I was wondering the same thing. Unless it's out of this world fantastic, I think I'd rather spend the $30 at my local salon the day before the trip.
It was very nice. Here in NY most higher end pedicures are around $50-60 so it wasn't too crazy for me, although I do admit for what you get it is a little steep.
On the Dream I think this is a bit nicer because the pedicure chairs overlook windows which have fantastic views. they use the hot stones and i think cool towels and oil? (I forgot the cool part, must not have been too memorable). I had just been in WDW for a week and my feet were killing and after sandals I needed it so it was nice, plus they did do a great job.
If you are going straight on the cruise, get a pedi before and put the $70 toward a massage or facial imo!
I had this on my cruise (just got back today) and it was NOT worth $70. The polish job was terrible, and my nail tech, while she was as sweet as she could be, kept running off to get products to try to sell me. Once she disappeared for 10 minutes! I was not happy with it, and while I'm sure I could have complained, l didn't end up saying anything. I would put that money toward a hot stone massage....expensive but very worth the money! And no up sells!

While the massages and facials were pure heaven, we both decided that we will get our pedis at our local salon right before we sail next time - 1/3 of the price, and they do a way better job.

I got one... What can I say I couldn't handle chipped polish any longer. I booked an 8 am appointment the day we docked into Nassau. Best pedicure ever with the view as we docked... Worth money and 2 weeks later no chips... Expensive but I liked the me time
I agree. I had heard good things about the Fire and Ice Mani/Pedi and they were running a special in the spa on the Hawaii cruise so we went for it. I won't say it was terrible but it wasn't as fantastic as I expected for the price.
The spa staff on the Wonder are basically all new hires as well so i'm sure there is a learning curve but i'd rather spend the little extra and get the top to toe special for $129 which is basically a massage and a facial and is fantastic!
I haven't had that particular one, but my DD and I did get pedis on the Wonder last year. We spent a lot of time in the Spa, my DD loved it. I've only done a manicure but didn't think it was done as well as I get at home. And much cheaper at home! So now I always get one before I leave and put the $ toward a massage.
I also like to get a mani pedi a day or two before I leave. Then I am sandal ready as soon as I get off the plane. Then I pick a nice relaxing treatment for mid way through the cruise when I am ready to relax.
