Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

I have been reading your posts. It sounds like you've had a really amazing trip so far. Seeing Selah's reactions to WDW really does warm ones heart. I am happy she enjoyed the school carnival. From the pictures I completely understand how she would have turned around and slid down it. My 5 year old son would have done that too.

I have to say I am really impressed what a good big brother Asher is. I am even more impressed on how well he took the possibility of not going to Chef Mickey's. What an amazing son you have. I really like Asher's POTC watch. It's a really cool watch.

It is nice to hear about the magic that a WDW vacation can bring a family. Can't wait to hear more.

Ok, I just read the first 26 pages of your TR! Well, I came back to it a few times. I think it's hilarious how Selah loves the thrill rides! I'm more with Asher. I rode TOT and EE once, and no need to do again. You have a beautiful family and I'm really enjoying this TR. Love your "go with the flow" mentality. Seems like you really enjoyed yourselves. Sorry you got sick...seems to happen to at least one member of our family each time. Can't wait to hear how Asher liked Chef Mickey's.

I just loved these updates! Asher's patience with his sister reminds me of the way Patrick and Nolan are with Cullen !. Sella's video with the Hula Hoop, and her new-found love of bouncy houses is so awesome!

I'm learning how to handle when people question why Cullen behaves "oddly" when he looks "normal". I'd finally had enough at the grocery store (bad day, lots of Cullen temper tantrums, not feeling so hot myself etc) and I snapped at the cashier and asked her what exactly does "normal" look like. Not one of my proudest moments. The cashier, a bit embarrassed, didn't talk or look at me until she finished my order. I apologized for my rude behavior and told her that everyone has special issues, some just are more readily identifiable than others and quickly exited the store. I wish I'd had more patience in that instance and just smiled away at her comment, but in the heat of the moment with a two year old spitting and rocking and screeching at the top of his lungs, I lost my cool.

So cute! Asher your a great big brother!! Selah on the hula hoop reminded me of the hula hoops in Poly- the CM's try to get guests to try --I did and sadly I'm not very good. Selah will have to go show her stuff next time you go!!!

Yes I've learned especially when I moved down south that people don't have inner monologues--but you have a great attitude which makes you a great mom!!!

Sorry about the woman behind you. You handled it much more gracefully than I probably would have.

I'm glad Jamie was able to join you at DTD. Your purchases all sound great. And how fun that Jamie and Asher were able to do Ride Makerz. Finn McMissile looks pretty cool!

Can't wait to hear about your upcoming MK day!
Thanks so much! I was a little surprised when she got so excited when she saw the bounce houses. When the little girl next to me said that about her knees it was all I could do not to laugh. I was so stressed at that moment and her saying that was just what I needed to not worry about the woman behind me any more.

We were so glad Jamie was able to make it out of the room and come have some fun with us! Asher and Jamie both really had a lot of fun building Finn. Asher wants to head to Myrtle Beach to get a few more accessories for it. We are only about 3 hours from Myrtle Beach and there is a Ride Makerz there but he has to save up some money first. Some more fun for Asher and Jamie.

Thanks! She did have a great time! I hope she was too. That little girl was a great stress reliever for me.

We did have a great time! Maybe Jamie will find his shirt next time.

That little girl was just precious! Special knees...I am going to remember that one for a while!

I loved seeing the pics of the boys building Asher's car, special dad and son moments.

Sounds like it was a great evening at DTD and I can't wait to hear how Asher's date with Mickey's gang goes in the morning!
Thanks so much! She thought the bumpy slide was very fun. We are thinking about renting one for her birthday and then she can go down the bumpy slide all she wants. She will be 6 on April 24.

I'm sure Special Knees is something we will remember for a long time to come.

They had a great time building that car and Asher has been making plans for a trip down to Myrtle Beach for some more accessories.

Thanks so much! She has become a thrill seeker for sure. Although I'm thinking she has probably always been a thrill seeker and we are just now figuring it out. We did get some great stuff at DTD! I love my new PJ's! So that Stephanie got the same socks last June! We loved EoS! It is definitely on our return list.

Thanks so much for following along and for all of your wonderful comments! We had such a wonderful time at WDW! We really didn't know what to expect from Selah on this trip and we are so excited that she loves it. I have really enjoyed sharing our trip with everyone and I am so glad that everyone is enjoying it!

I'm sure Asher would have liked the "bumpy" slide at that age too.
Thanks so much for your compliments about Asher. He really is a good big brother. I was really proud of him at that moment when he heard we were not going to Chef Mickey's that morning. He is not always that understanding about things unless it has to do with Selah. He is always understanding when it is something with her. He is loving his watch too and has no problems with wearing it.

Sorry you got sick...seems to happen to at least one member of our family each time. Can't wait to hear how Asher liked Chef Mickey's.
Thanks so much for joining in! We thought it was pretty funny that she loved the thrill rides too. We certainly didn't expect that. I wish I could have capture every moment on video. Thanks so much for the compliments!

Isn't it wonderful how the siblings are so understanding of each other! So glad you enjoyed the video!

So are you saying that spitting, rocking and screeching are not normal behaviors? Those are Selah's favorite things to do in restaurants, stores, well, pretty much any where in public. I totally understand about the questioning. If they question me in the right way I have no problem answering their questions. It is when they become accusing that I have a problem with it. I try to do my best to stay calm though.

Yes I've learned especially when I moved down south that people don't have inner monologues--but you have a great attitude which makes you a great mom!!!
Thanks so much! Next time we are in Disney if she sees a Hula Hoop I am sure she will want to show her skills. I don't think some people even know what inner monologue means. Thanks for the compliment. I don't always feel like a great mom. We all have our moments.
