As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

THe WDW boxes are getting fuller, and the Owners Locker test box seems to be getting a few more items added as well. Fortunately for me,unfortunately for Coop,I have something to occupy my time for the worst part of the Disney planning wasteland.I have been asked to be on the set crew for "On Golden Pond" It's performing for the next 3 weeks so usually that times go pretty fast.
Thanks for all the positive comments on the pirate mickey design for the spare tire cover.Primer, then base coat, then white for the design, then sealer.Pretty easy job, shouldn't take more than a few.....How long to we have HAHA.
Just for kicks I tried on a pair of shoes the other day that I'm taking, they DEF. need some more breaking in. Always check your stuff! If you don't want any surprises check your stuff way before your trip, that way you can change things before you go.I didn't need to get blisters while at WDW and ruin a couple of days there.
LOVE, Love, the blanket! It's pretty and blue. I'll tell you what, your Ms. Thang looks just like my moms cat Mr.Box in that pic. SAME markings and colors, swear to god. I am going to post a pic of him on fb so you can see, but first I have to take one! He probably outweighs her, uh.... swear, his nickname (well one of many) is pillow pet, biggest cat I have ever seen. Probably weighs 30 lbs.
Why does it seem like everytime I come here and read a post, it seems like your time is flying and mine is so slow. While it's the opposite for you? Time is such a funny thing! Love the DPW abbr. around here that is a town branch called Dept. of Public Works. I have to think about it when I read it everytime.
I am getting slightly crazy at this point! Forgive my rambling....
55 days!
You are right - it feels like YOUR time is flying and MINE is going slow! LOL! But I will be calling you on Fri at the phone booths in UK!

Glad to be a "ruthless pitch" inspiration! I don't know how Stef does at the dentist but Chuck HATES it! Pixies for Stef too!

He will be very busy for another month with this new play. I have signed up for a 12 week Zumba class that starts 9/22. I will actually miss two weeks while we are in WDW.

Yeah - you don't need blisters like I had last year! Although you took very good care of me!

I had well broken in sneakers last year but still managed to get blisters! I've got new shoes this year and they are fabu. I can wear them in the ER for 12 hours so I think they will work fine for Disney!
Time for an update because I haven't in a while. But that's because there's nothing new to update.
On the homefront - status quo. Just finished another work week. It was interesting. Full moon in the ER. Yes - I fully believe in the full moon effect. And I was probably worse off than some of my patients. I have a broken (or seriously bruised) tailbone (healing now but still painful at times) and so I have been sitting gingerly which has my sciatic pain kicking in. I love it when I can barely walk or sit and people are coming to the ER for facial acne, STD's and a callous on the toe that was there for over a year! Don't get me started - I could rant on this for a few pages!
Anyhow, Chuck is in full swing with his new play (On Golden Pond). He is working in the crew for it. It is a small cast but he didn't try out for it. I start my Zumba next week (my sciatic and tailbone should be fine by then. like I said - they are getting better every day)
As far as the Mickey wheel cover design goes - I think I will buy a plain wheel cover to let Chuck put his design on. He was just going to cover up the dealers advertising that is already there. But we can get a plain black wheel cover(pretty cheap) and paint it instead of covering up what's there and then painting it.
The travel boxes are getting more full. My box already has my capri's, some shorts, my different purses (a cross-body wallet, a around the neck pouch, a fannypack, a travel purse and a backpack - I can't decide which ones I'm going to use), my WDW hoodie and some shoes, a couple shirts, swimsuit and coverup and my Tilley hat. The Owner's Locker box has a powerstrip, our toiletry bag, waterbottles, beach towels, snorkel and mask and a backpack. These are not our final boxes - but a work in progress. We are at 50 days today! It's getting more real! But I'm a bit sad - . It seems that almost everyone is going NOW. I WANNA GO!!!!! We just got our "refund" check from the dealership. (The refund from buying the Jeep)Disney money!!!! We still need to get socks and underwear, memory cards for the cameras, a travel charger for DH's phone, I want to get a couple more shirts (unlike Chuck - I don't have 20-30 T's. to take with me ) but other than that - we are good as far as buying for our trip. So now we are just waiting. Tick, tick, tick . . . .
Wow - for having not much new to update - this turned into a long update! LOL!
“Here in Florida, we have something special we never enjoyed at Disneyland...the blessing of size. There's enough land here to hold all the ideas and plans we can possibly imagine. - Walt Disney
You are getting so close now. Sorry about your tailbone Coop hope you are feeling better soon in time for Zumba. I ended up buying the tapes because I could never make it to class - the girls love it, so it is our family work out time but it does not even feel like working out because you are just having so much fun dancing around the room (even though I am probably more apt to dance around the room because it is just me and the girls )
Full moon in the ER. Yes - I fully believe in the full moon effect.
I have to COMPLETELY agree with you about the full moon in the ER. I went in Sunday night with my DH and didn't leave until Monday afternoon and they were BUSY! The waiting rooms were packed and the exam rooms were so full that people were on beds lining the halls. Fortunately (and unfortunately) for us, we were there because my DH was having chest pains and shortness of breath so we got right in and into a room without any problems. It turns out he has esophageal spasms. Thank God it wasn't worse!!!! Still painful, but it could have been a lot worse.
I've enjoyed following along with your PTRs. Can't wait to read the TR and hear about all the wonderful dining you have planned.
