As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I am going to try my first PTR. I went in 2009 and tried to do a TR but never got it finished but this one should be easier to do. I am not the best or creative writer but hopefully you guys will bear with me.
Cast of Characters.
Me- mom 35. I grew up in Lakeland so have been to WDW plenty of times as a kid.
Ciara- DD4- Her first trip was in my tummy but then we went in 2009, and this summer offsite.
Dates December 12th through the 16th.
Where Coronado Springs- We actaully stayed here in 2009.
Free Dining- Upgraded to Deluxe
The hardest part right now is not being able to tell anyone about it. We share our driveway with my inlaws and some times they like to butt into things that dont really have anything to do with them. It was actually my DH who said for us not to tell them we were going and its his parents LOL. So we told them I was going to visit my Dad which I am doing. I also have 2 other kids who will be in school during that time. DS13 could care less about me going to WDW but DS10 probably isnt going to be to happy but I have mentioned to him that I wanted to do a trip with just DD4 and me that way I can do plenty of Princess stuff.
Friday Dec. 9th or Saturday Dec 10th. I havent decided yet if I will leave on Friday or Saturday. We are about 11 hours from Lakeland. If I leave on Friday I will stop halfway over night and if I leave Saturday I will travel straight through. I will be spending Sat and Sunday at my dads. Sunday is my older sister's bday so I figure it would be nice to be down there for it.
Monday- Head to WDW. I dont have any definative plans yet except for a 5pm ADR at Cape May Cafe. I had it originally set for 6:30 but thought that afterwards I wanted to go to HS to see the Osbourne Lights. Before entering the park I will upgrade my tickets to an Annual Pass (DH and I are going in May also)

Tuesday the 18th- We have breakfast at CRT @ 8:35. I already have her Belle dress now I just need to find a yellow long sleeve shirt to wear underneath it. It still will be December.
This is one of the MK days. The main thing to do is all the things that Ciara wants to do. I know we will get in before park opening but Im sure we wont be done with breakfast before the park opens. First thing is to ride Dumbo and then just see where we go after that.
We have a late lunch planned but I may try to make it earlier. Lunch- Crystal palace @ 3:40. After that we will probably head out of the park and just take it easy and just see where we wind up. No dinner planned so if we get hungry we will just get a CS somewhere.
Wed the 14th. AK day
EMH @ 8am for AK. I want to ride the Safari first so we will head that way. Depending on when we get done and how much time we have we may look to do something else around there. Breakfast at Tusker House @ 9:45. We ate here in 09 and really enjoyed it. We wont ride to much here but want to check out the parade and some of the things that we havent done before like Rafikis Planet Watch.
No lunch planned so just grab something somewhere. We want to leave AK sometime in the Afternoon and head back to the resort.
Early Dinner at 1900 Park Fare @ 4:55 and then MVMCP afterwards. We did MNSSHP in 09 when we went so I thought the christmas party would be fun. Im going to let Ciara tell me when she is ready to go. If she is ready by 9 then we will leave but dont really want to stay till midnight. Early breakfast next morning.

I just added DS10 onto our reservation. So had to buy another MVMCP ticket and change all my ADR's to 3 guests. I was pretty lucky. I still got them all.

Hope you have a fun trip....your plans are changing just like mine. had to add another person to mine also. Glad you were able to get your ADR's changed. We will be there the same week.
New Cast of Characters Me and DD4 DS10 Chase..HE will be 11 by the time we go. He is the one I was worried about being upset that we were going without him so DH said to see how much it would be to add him on and then told me to go ahead and do it. OF course we had to talk to DS13 first but he said he didnt mind not going. He is in that age where he doesnt care about WDW. I cant believe I have a kid that doesnt care.
Thursday Dec. 15th
Breakfast- Hollywood and Vine @ 8:05. When I called last night to add my DS onto reservation I asked who was there. Back in 09 it JoJo and Goliath so now it is Handy Manny and Special Agent OSO. Im glad about that.
Made an early breakfast just so we could get into HS early so we could hit Toy Story Midway Mania first. Most of my plans will stay the same with just a couple exceptions. I wasnt going to do Star Tours but now I will. DD4 rode it this summer and liked it so not worried about her. Maybe DS could get into the Jedi Academy. HE did it in 09 and had a blast.
Dinner - Chef Mickey's @ 7:45. This was the only ADR that had to change some when I added DS. I originally had it at 5:30 but 7:45 was the earliest she had. Thats ok though we have the Deluxe plan so I still have 3 credits to use here and there so we will just make sure we use one today for lunch. Maybe I will try and schedule Sci-Fi then. We like that one.
Friday December 16th
Check out Day
Breakfast 1900 Park Fare @ 10:05. We have this scheduled for dinner also but I want to try both.
I might try to do Epcot this day. I didnt have any plans for Epcot but this might be a good day. I already have HS for one night and one day and MK for one day and the Xmas party and AK for one day. As of right now now Park Hoppers but I really dont think we will need it. IF we do then I will just upgrade them then.
Later on that day I will go back to my Dads in Lakeland and spend Friday night and Saturday with him. We will leave on Sunday to come back. DS will have school on Monday.
I actually really love the idea of going to my dads at the beginning and end of Disney. This way my kids get some down time after the long trip before we head to Disney. And then they can rest before the trip back also.
