As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Pixie Chicks-Mon.8/19
Cindy, hit me again with another shot of that Skinny Pixie Dust! All that walking at the park and biking yesterday - and I didn't lose an ounce! And honest, I didn't overdose on the food there either and let me tell you the mini donuts were calling my name so loudly, but I pretended I couldn't hear them! I guess I should've spent a couple of extra bucks and bought water instead of Diet Coke. That's probably the reason I didn't lose anything.
I won't let it get me down though. I've passed through my craving times so it should be clear sailing for a few weeks and I'll be able to count points like crazy. Just a little over a month to go before my brother's wedding to lose that darned holiday weight! Should be no sweat now.
Have a good day, Pixies

Re: Pixie Chicks-Mon.8/19
Hello everyone! I feel like I've fallen off the Pixie Chick wagon. I've been doing good on working out, but, my food consumption is a bit ridiculous! Back on points starting NOW! I've also got my water at my side! Have a great week, everyone!

Re: Pixie Chicks-Mon.8/19
I HAVE fallen off the Pixie Chick wagon, Disney Fan. I am still getting in my swim (when we don't have thunder in the afternoons) about 5 days a week, but my food consumption is not good at all. Candy, sodas, you name it. My willpower must have used itself up that first week . Noone in my family is much help to me either. They are just like me. -HiddenMickey

Re: Pixie Chicks-Mon.8/19
Hey, Pixie Chicks, don't be discouraged. No one's perfect at anything. . .ESPECIALLY at losing weight. Let's all climb back up on the Pixie Chick wagon, here we go <climb, grunt, climb> Needless to say, with my Krispie Kreme Konfessions, I'm no angel of a good example, but you know what? I'm not letting a weak moment of fatness get in my way. Those donuts (and the Dr Pepper I had this afternoon) were DELISH. . .but I'm going to keep jogging just the same, and celebrating the way my jeans have started to feel a little baggy in the butt. Donna, here is your double shot of pixie dust ************* and how about a little extra for everyone else *********** Hope everyone had a wonderfully low point Monday! Glug, glug, glug!

Re: Pixie Chicks-Mon.8/19
Okay.... I'm back on track.. went on the blast off week with food movers...did great today... Here's the food I ate:
Breakfast: 1/2 grapfruit with sponful of brown sugar
Piece whole wheat toast ( no butter)
coffee with fat free creamer & 1 Splenda packet
Lunch:
1/2 cup tuna
3 beets
Dinner:
BBQ ribs
mashed potatoes ( about 1 cup) with roasted garlic..
green beans
TONS of water.. I've got a 48 ounce glass & i'm on my 5th one today... Was gabbing with my friend on the phone this afternoon & the entire time I was talking I kept refilling my glass.
That's it.. I've still got some windows to close.. I've got 2 more vegetables, 1 fruit & 2 dairys that I can eat... I think I'll use the dairys & eat a Weight Watchers Smart one fudge bar tonight
Hopefully this will boost my system & I'll be back on track.... The last time I did blast off I lost 10 pounds in 1 week

Re: Pixie Chicks-Mon.8/19
Hi, Pixies, a little late posting today. Got on the scale and stayed the same. I was not amused. I really watched what I ate all week. I did not get any exercise this week other than a one mile walk on Friday. I guess I am going to have to start moving and get my metabolism going. I just can't take this heat and humidity.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Re: Pixie Chicks-Mon.8/19
Hi everyone! Sending good thoughts to all the Pixies, and special pixie dust to those who have hit plateaus and/or fallen off the wagon. We've all been there, haven't we?? Here's hoping it's just a small bump in the road for all of you.
Here's my good news for the day: I GOT THE JOB! (The one that I was nervous about on Thursday night.) It's a temp job, proofreading at home and anywhere from 2 to 20 hours a week. (Usually 5-10 hrs/wk, they said.) It's mine on a one-month trial basis, and has the potential to go long-term and possibly even permanent. Sooooo excited!
Oh, and then I went to weigh-in and lost 3 more pounds -- a total of 17 pounds in 14 weeks.
Gonna go get some more water. Oh, and assuming I can avoid eating anything the rest of the night, this is Day 4 in a row on points.

Re: Pixie Chicks-Mon.8/19
I have to admit that it comforts me to see that I am not the only one who has fallen off the wagon! I do well for a week, then poorly the next. I decided that I am going to watch what I eat at WDW, but if I want that Nestle choc chip cookie sandwich I am going to have it! (Those are my downfall) Hopefully all the walking will burn some fat off my body! have a great Monday everyone!
