The I CAN NOW TALK about my trip TR 8-15 to 8-21,2010 COMPLETED - Page 31 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Glad o hear you had fun at DQ and had a wonderful dinner at Kona Cafe. Those Surrey Bikes look look and sound like so much fun. Glad to hear it was a fantastic day. More please.
DisneyQuest is a lot of fun - there's some kind of time warp in there because you leave thinking, "Did I REALLY just spend 6 hours playing video games?"
We love Earl of Sandwich. I always get the All American, it's my favorite.
Kona Cafe sounds delicious, we'll have to try it one day.
The Surrey Bikes sound like a lot of work, especially after a full meal! They do sound fun though.
Can't wait to read what happens next - especially about the Vinylmation, because I have no clue what that is.
Sounded like a fun day at DQ. I want to try it, but I am waiting until my girls get a little bit older (and taller).
The surrey bike sounded like fun and exhausting.
I hope you ended up getting Beaker!
We got up and headed over Magic Kingdom today. I was so excited. When we got through the train tunnel, David said "Okay this is Mommy's big moment" I started walking down Main Street took one look at the castle and started tearing up. 197.jpg200.jpg
It was beautiful!! We took a few pictures and walked around really slow. We had all day. We headed over to Buzz Lightyear and did that first. I won!!! David didn't even try!!! He said it just isn't as good as Men in Black at Universal. That's true but it still was fun. We did Monsters, Inc. next. What a blast that was. We got fastpasses for BTMR and then did HM. I really love this. I noticed a lot of new things that I hadn't seen before. I also got the skinny hitchhiker...finally...I also get the short squat one!! From there we actually headed over to Casey's for a bite to eat. After that we went and got fastpasses for space mountain and went back to use our fastpasses at BTMR. Still bumpy, but reaaly fun. We walked around alot and finally headed over to use our fastpasses for Space Mountain. Somewhere in there we also did the Pooh ride. Katie said we had to. We went over to see Mickey's Philharmagic and then called it a day. We were coming back on Friday night for EMH. It was about 2pm and David wanted to do laundry. We headed back to POP and Katie went swimming while we threw in 2 loads of laundry. Our dinner reservations were for 5:25pm at Tutto Italia. This is where Dave and I got into a nice fight!!! I didn't think the clothes would dry in time. After me getting upset that we'd be late and him getting upset becacuse I kept sighing when the drying wouldn't dry the clothes he gets really upset and starts throwing stuff around and grabbing the clothes. He's yelling...we always have to be somewhere...blah, blah, blah. I Had told him I would do the laundry later that night since I don't sleep well and he insisted on doing now...we have plenty of time...blah, blah, blah. Anyway...after getting to the bus to get to EPCOT I knew we were going to late. David wasn't speaking to me at this point. Whatever...he is stubborn. We get off the bus and through the entrance and run...He and Katie are walking really quickly. We had about 10 minutes to get to Tutto. I'm dying trying to keep up. Needless to say we got to Italy at 5:30pm. It wasn't any problem. We only waited about 5 minutes and we were seated. No table conversation for us. I'm mad!!! He's mad!!! Katie's upset that we aren't talking. Whatever!!! We ordered lasagna for Dave and I and Katie got the Canneloni. The waterboy had just filled the water glasses when the food came. The waiter goes to put the food down and instead of putting it down next to him, reaches OVER the water glasses and spills the entire glass of water in Dave's LAP!!! Normally, we would have burst out laughing...not this time. You could hear a pin drop!!!! The waiter as apologizing, our waitress Gabriella was apologizing. The poor boy that spilled the water..I think he was new...was scared to death!!! David said No Problem...it's only water it'll dry. They leave and he looks at me. I burst out in tears...why are you crying??? Oh just everything that happened today!!! The manager came over and asked David if he wants them to get him a new shirt. No it's fine!!! Anyway...the meal was great!!! We lightened up after that. We ordered dessert. Katie had the Chocolate gelato. David ordered the tiramatsu (which he doesn't like...he liked this one!!!) and I ordered the Plato Delizie which was a trio of delightfulness. I don't know what it had on it besides a cannoli and some chocolate things but it was really good. The bill came to $120.35. 3DDP credits and we paid $25.00 for a tip. They kept coming over to our table throughout the whole meal. David's pants were dry by the time we left. It was all GOOD!!
After dinner, David and Katie took a nap at the American Adventure while I sang every song in it. It's a favorite of mine. Let's face it...everything at WDW is a favorite of mine. After that we headed over to the International Gateway and went to Boardwalk for a while.
We walked around Boardwalk and went to the shops. I bought another muppet vinylmation...Rizzo the rat!! Oh well... got a couple more days left. We got a couple of the other ones too. We now have a ghost and pluto in his swim trunks and an inner tube. These are all quite cute. I bought a keychain one and got Donald!! Anyway...we decided to go back to EPCOT around 8:40 and see Illuminations. The last time I saw it I didn't like it too much. Off we go...we stood over near the Rose and Crown. Well I don't know if it was because I had a different view or what but it was beautiful! I finally got it!! When it was over, we headed out with them masses. We stopped at a gift shop near the exit to let people thin out and I bought another Muppet Vinylmation...I really need to stop this!!! I got the Swedish Chef!!! Awesome!! I love him...dishka doo!!! Mork, mork, mork!!! Anyway we headed back to the buses and HOLY MOLY!!! The line for POP was a million people deep! Katie and I took bets how many buses we had to wait for. Everytime a bus came everyone cheered. 5 busesd later we were headed back to POP. They stopped at the arcade...big surprise!! We headed back to the room to end the night.
Sorry that last post seemed really long!!! I just went on and on.
On different note...I've told you that Katie does cross country track. Well she keeps tripping and falling. Her knees look like she was beaten with a baseball bat or something. She also keeps getting lost when she is running alone. The other day, everyone was back before her. When she finally got back, the coach asks "So where DID you go?" I asked her if she really thinks this is the sport for her. You know what she says? I love it...it's fun!! Okay then!! She also got contacts Wednesday for the first time. I said be careful with them. Thursday she texts me from school...I lost one of my contacts. SIGH!!! So I actually ordered 2 boxes. They are the 14 day disposable ones. She should get them next week. Hopefully they will last til the end of the year.
Friday she had time trials. For a freshman, the average time is 40 minutes for the mile. While she didn't break any records or come in first, second or anywhere near the top...she finished 2nd to last. Her time was actually 32.34 minutes. I'm very proud because she is sticking to this!!! Her first meet is on Wednesday and I'm going to go and watch the end of the race. Wish her luck!!!!

Too funny, that is so an argument that my DH and I would have, but I would have laughed my A$$ off at the water, and probably said something like karma sucks. . Anyway, love the fun vinylmation search cool, my DH thinks they are ugly, I dunno. Great updates, can't wait for more. Oh one more thing, my DH always says to Lily when we walk into MK look at mommy here come the waterfalls.
