Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

-Pull out money to put in Mousekeeper Envelopes and for Magical Express Tips

-Purchase shorts for David and I, and purchase some new t-shirts and socks for David

-Purchase a notebook to take notes in for my Trip Report

-Purchase sunscreen, bug spray, and various other misc items for the trip

-Write up a packing list

-Contact Discovery Cove to find out why they haven't sent our Dolphin Swim Paperwork

-Call Margaritaville 30 days out to make our priority seating dinner reservation for the night we are at Universal Studios

-Confirm Alamo Car Reservation, Disney Dining Reservations, Flights, etc

-Schedule a ride with the Mears shuttle for Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure (We're only renting a car for the two days we're going to SeaWorld and Discovery Cove.)

-Contact Disney to inform them of David's egg allergy (a sudden development) and my nut allergy (which I forgot to do)

-Check show schedule for SeaWorld once it is finally up, and finish typing up our touring plans for that day

-Print out our travel book and have it bound

-Print Universal Studios Admission tickets and Islands of Adventure admission tickets

-Do online check in ten days out

-Fax room requests in ten days out

-Pay all the bills that are due while on our trip

- Pack our bags!

-Do online flight check in

I forgot to put in a certain page that I wanted in our book, but have decided that I will just print it separately and put it in my notebook so that I have it. The guy didn't do as great of a job as I would have hoped for when he put the cover on my Travel Book, but it's done, and it only cost a dollar and eight cents, so it's not like I paid a ton for it. It's passable, and that's fine. I thought about asking him to re-do it, but I would have had to go all the way home and re-printed everything, and I just wasn't in the mood to do that!

After I get paid this next week, I'll probably take money out for the tips.

I can't really think of anything else that I need to say today, so I think I'll "sign off" for now. Talk to ya'll tomorrow.

Congrats on the book...post a pic if you get a chance.

I can't believe how close it's getting. I don't post much, but I've been reading your PTR since it started.

It made me laugh that you called me Chaquita Banana, because I had a friend in high school who inexplicably ended up with that as a nickname.

3 Weeks to the Day!

#21 Peter Pan

This is the first production in which Tinker Bell has a form. In all prior stage productions she was represented by a spot of light.

I am so excited that after today I can say "Less than 3 weeks!"

I am also having a hard time with the fact that the planning is all done and all that's left to do is the last minute stuff. I mean, tomorrow, I have to call and make our Priority Seating Reservation with Margaritaville, and I still have to pick up batteries for our camera and whatever else is still on our list, but, for the purposes of explaining why I'm feeling down, it's all done!

I've spent over a year planning this. I've painstakingly figured out every detail, and saved money for it, and focused on it since August of 2009. And now it's almost here....and I know we'll probably be taking another trip next year, but it still feels kind of bitter sweet...maybe I'm being melodramatic...

I felt the same way after my wedding...I had spent so long planning it that when it was over, although I was ecstatic to be able to say "My husband and I..." or "My husband said..." and I was SO incredibly happy to be married...I was also disappointed that the wedding was over and I didn't have to plan it anymore! It helped, of course, that we delayed our honeymoon for six months, and therefore I still got to plan that. And, of course, that infected David with the Disney bug, so I'm sure we'll make it back many times.

Anyway. I've been feeling down because of having nothing to plan. David was so sweet when I told him this today. He said "Well, I guess I'll have to think of something for you to plan then...like next years trip? Or maybe a drive to the coast?" Awww. He 's me. My husband is so amazing. Okay, enough bragging and being all mushy and stuff.

I kind of want to share...I've been trying to get back in shape, and my goal was losing 15 pounds. Today, I hit my five pound mark. It's not great, and I was hoping to lose the full fifteen before the trip, but I'm proud of my 5. Yay me!

I guess that's all for now. Talk to you guys tomorrow after I call Margaritaville.

I felt the exact same way after my hubby and I's wedding (we got married 2 1/2 years ago). We had a "destination wedding" so the wedding and honeymoon were all rolled together. When we got back home, I couldn't help but feel a little down that it was all over. I wasn't the bride anymore and I didn't have anything to plan. And that was the first time the hubby and I had been out of state together (and we have been together for 10 years total!!) So I am a little anxious about our disney trip. This is our first, and we are putting so much planning into it. So a part of me is already worrying about when we get back .

I know what you mean about the planning as I love to plan too. David's right - you just have to plan something else - even if it's a 'dream' trip you want to take one day.
Congrats on the weight loss although it doesn't appear that you need it.

All caught up! Congrats on losing the 5lb! And I'm glad you're so close to your trip!

BTW you are so lucky to be going to the WWHP!! I've been a huge fan since I was young too, the trailer for Deathly Hallows made my tear up a bit when it said "The motion picture event of a generation" cause I've been reading those books since I was like 10!

#20 Piglet's Big Movie The first time since Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore (1983) that the original A.A. Milne books were used as source material. With one slight exception. (The story of Kanga and Roo coming to the forest was previously used for an episode of "The new Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" television series.)

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I FORGOT to call Margaritaville today!! *gasp* At least until, with the time difference, it would have been right in the middle of their busiest time and I felt like it would be obnoxious to call.

Although, it's not like I won't have time to call some time this week. I got my schedule at work today...I have only 21 hours this week. *sigh* When Manager Mike does the schedule, I get 40 hours. When Manager Cassie does the schedule, it seems like, all of a sudden, there aren't any hours, and everyone's hours get cut. And I go from working all day shifts to all late shifts. For example...the week before Cassie started doing the schedule, I worked two 7AM to 3:30PM shifts, two 6AM to 2:30PM shifts, and one 8AM to 4:30PM shift. This week, I have only one morning shift (7AM today), and then tomorrow (and the next day) I go to 2:30PM-10:30PM. And I'll bet you pretty soon I'll be doing all 3:30 to Midnight shifts. *sigh* Knock on wood that doesn't happen!

Anyway, sorry about complaining. It is just frustrating that right when I need the hours the most, since I'll be missing two weeks of work coming up pretty quick. I was kind of counting on some good sized paychecks NOW to offset the lack of money LATER, because I don't have vacation time with my employer until January. It takes a year before they give you vacation time. So anyway.

I guess I will be back tomorrow to let you know about Margaritaville.

Thanks to everyone about the compliments/congrats on my weight loss. I know I look small, and I AM within a healthy weight range, but I'd gained 30 pounds since high school. Granted, I was unnaturally tiny in high school due to my being on the Physical Strength team and doing intense workouts three times a week. I don't want to weigh 115 again, but maybe 130 would be nice. I feel bad that my clothes don't fit me anymore.

And, of course, since I'm poor because I spend all my money on Disney... I can't afford to buy a new wardrobe!!! Lol. Anyway, talk to you guys tomorrow!
