As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Maybe I Will Get It Right This Time- The Third Time's The Charm TR Updated 11/2 with Playhouse Disney Play 'n Dine Breakfast
Hello Everyone. Well, first let me explain the title of my TR. This will be my third TR. Although the past ones have not been done in a very timely fashion, I feel like I have enough practice now to get this one right (my TR from last year will still be active and I will eventually finish it). I feel the same about my Disney trip. Although, it's not technically the third time, it is the third time in three years and I feel like I've learned enough from past trips and mistakes (can anyone say commando touring?) to know what will make this trip most enjoyable for my family.
For those of you still giving me a chance by reading my TR, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Now onto the trip details:
Starting on July 4th we will be flying Southwest out of Philadelphia. We will be landing in Orlando at around 4:10pm then taking DME to Pop Century Resort for our first night.
We did not have enough DVC points to stay at our DVC home for July 4th and at the time I purchased airfare it was much cheaper on the 7/4 than 7/5, so we went for it (how could I say no to an extra day in "The World).
That first night we will be on the DXDDP. We did that last year and it worked out great for us.
On July 5th we will be transferring to Kidani where we will be staying in a standard view studio until July 16. (We didn't have enough DVC points for a bigger view or better view, but in the end that wasn't enough to keep us from going. We are hardly ever in the room anyway with two boys who rival the energizer bunny).
Oh, did I forget to mention that our boys have no clue we are going to Disney. They think we are staying at The Hampton Inn on July 3rd and then driving to Hershey Park for the day on the 4th. I'm not sure how we will tell them yet (still trying to work out those details) but I know they are going to be ecstatic since there isn't a day that goes by that I don't hear one of them say, "I wish we could go back to Disney this year."

I will start with little ole me. For those of you that don't know me, my name is Lissette. For those of you who know me as Liz, I'm still the same person, lol.
I am 33 years old. I have been a stay at home Mom for the past two years (after managing a dermatologist's office). I am scheduled to start a new job at a law firm this week and I am sooooooo nervous. I'm still not sure if I'm making the right decision and I haven't been around too many adults in the past two years. I have been obsessed with all things Disney since I was a very little girl. I remember going to WDW when I was little and planning for when I'd return as an adult with my own family and "do this trip the right way". We never stayed on site, always got to the parks late, and then listened to the adults complain about the heat and long lines, lol. Anyway, besides Disney, I really don't like anything else. Just kidding, I like being with my boys, reading on my Kindle, scrapbooking (even though I'm somewhat of a novice), planning all sorts of events, and volunteering with the Kids' Ministry in my church.

Next up is DH aka William, Will, Willy, and some other names I won't be sharing with you, lol.
Will (as I prefer to call him except when I'm mad at him) is 38 years old today (Happy Birthday honey!) He works for the U.S. Department of Justice for the past 17 years and is currently working from home. We have been married for almost twelve years and I couldn't have asked for a better hubby (for me) and daddy for my boys. He loves music, reading, being a goofball, movies, playing with our boys until he passes out, coaching our son's baseball and basketball team, and also volunteering in the Kids' Ministry and security team at our church. Even though he won't admit it, he loves Disney as much as I do. He just doesn't really enjoy the planning stages at all. He couldn't care less where we eat, stay, what parks we go to on what day, etc. He leaves that all up to me and I am not complaining (being the control freak that I am).

DS #1- Jared, who just turned 9 this past Saturday. Jared is just an awesome boy. The child is a genius. I'm sorry to brag, but I have to, I am just so proud. Everything he touches turns to gold. He is in the third grade and in the gifted program at his school. He loves martial arts (he has a brown belt), baseball (he is such a gifted pitcher), plays the guitar, violin, sings, plays basketball, loves video games (no crazy ones) and anything Yankees (sorry Philadelphia). Jared recently wrote a kids' book for the gifted program and got second place out of hundreds of third graders.
Besides being great at so many things, he just has the best heart and I am so proud to be his Mommy. It doesn't hurt that he loves Disney as much as I do, lol.

Last, but certainly not least, is my baby boy, Aidan. Aidan is 4 years old and if you met him you would just want to eat him up. He is the cutest, funniest, smartest little thing. There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't crack us up. His smile just lights up a room and melts your heart. He is so loving and is always hugging, and kissing everyone especially his big brother.
Aidan loves to play, play, play. His favorite thing is to dress up as different characters. One day he is Buzz Lightyear, one day Batman, and one day Indiana Jones. He is just so full of life and energy.He will be starting Pre-K in September and I am so sad to see my baby all grown up. Did I mention that he probably loves Disney more than any of us. He watches the episode of Full House where they go to WDW at least once a day and cries everyday because he wants to go to Disney. Even when he is playing with his action figures, guess where they go????

Awesome start, Liz! I love reading your TRs, so I'm really glad you've decided to persevere. I know the feeling... I started two TRs and never finished either one... so I give you loads of credit for giving it another go. What a nice, long trip you have planned. I'm super jealous!!! And your boys are absolutely precious. You have a lot to be proud of! Can't wait to read more about your plans.

Thanks so much Aimee. Life really has gotten in the way of my TR's, but this time I think I can do a better job. I know I need to take better notes for starters. I guess practice makes perfect. If you ever do another TR, I will definitely read it. I loved your one from a couple of years ago.

Baby Boy is coming along fine. I got my c-section date Friday - I'll be having him on September 23rd. Now I just have to get through summer and our WDW trip!
