Three Adults & a Toddler – 6/7-13/09 - UPDATED 11/20 - Page 36 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Thanks everyone for your comments! Dylan did recover rather quickly from the scare from Mater, so that was good.

I think he was on a timer. I didn't really notice before we got up there, but I definitely noticed it once we were through and he did it quite often.

We did make the tye dyes ourselves. Becki had to improvise some with hers as the blue just kept running. As you can see Mike did not want to participate in the matching shirts that day.
I remember you making those shirts and I think they looked great in the photos Its always fun to do something like that and so you can spot each other more easily as well!
That is such a sad face poor dylan had I used to freak out over santa claus that way*L*
I love the action figure picture. I was just telling Eric i really wanted to go during Star Wars weekends so i could have my pic as an action figure*L* weird
Great update!
All caught up now! Poor sweet baby That Mater has a sneaky sense of humor sometimes (just watch the short clips they show sometimes on Disney Channel)
Sounds like a great time so far
Catching up with your report. I was laughing when I saw the before and after picture of your Mickey towel on the bed. That just cracked me up... the undone version.
the picture od Dylan waiting for more lobster soup was too cute. and though he did not like Mater revving up, the picture is sweet.

He freaked out with Santa too this past Christmas - was totally fine right up until we had to go see him. SWW is definitley a fun expereince. We've been to like 3 or 4 now and it seems like something is new or different each year.

It didn't take long for the Mickey head to get undone. The kid does love some food - and no one can eat around him without him making that face!
6/8/09 cont.
We arrived at Animal Kingdom and walked over to get FPs for Everest for later. (I still have one as we used the baby swap and our return time was 4:10pm – 5:10pm.) Next we headed over to Tusker House to check-in. I had made the ADR for 1pm so we could get reserved seating for the 3pm Nemo show and I was happy to see that the CMs asked everyone who was checking in if they wanted the reserved seating or not. We of course said yes and had a short wait before being taken to our seats. Mike headed up to the buffet first so he could get a plate for Dylan, Becki went up at this time too, and then it was my turn. We all really enjoyed the food and it was nice to try some different things. We will definitely go back to this buffet. Our pockets lighter (3 adult meals were $76.65 after tax) we headed out to Camp Minnie-Mickey. We had just enough time to meet Goofy, who is Dylan’s favorite right about now.
Me, Dylan, & Becki in our matching tye dye shirts
After seeing Goofy we decided we better get to the Nemo theater and claim some seats. We parked the stroller and headed in. We got seats a few rows back on the right hand of the stage – excellent for seeing everything. This show is AMAZING!! I mean I know Disney does great shows, themeing, etc., but this was definitely more than I had imagined. I cannot wait to see it again. (This was a first for all of us as Mike & I had never had time to see it before – and we haven’t seen FOTLK either.)
After Nemo our FPs were ripe, so Mike & Becki went first while I waited with Dylan – in the blistering sun/heat. I saw a patch of shade a little further down and parked Dylan in it so at least he would have some relief. I will say the clip on fan I brought was a life saver every day! After Mike & Becki’s run in with the Yeti it was time for Becki & I to ride while Mike waited with Dylan. It was a great ride. It was probably around 4:30pm at this point so we decided to head out and rest some before coming back for PM EMH. We were back at the lodge around 5pm for some much needed R&R.
That Nemo show is on our list of "things we haven't done but want to do on our next trip" list. Glad you liked it so much. Now I'm looking forward to it even more.

What a great morning at AK! We are definitely going to do Tusker House for lunch to get the Nemo reserved seating. We saw this show three trips ago, but didn't make it the past two and Stefanie is not letting us forget it either.

It's definitely a must see! Just as awesome as a Broadway (ok Fox Theater for me in St. Louis) show.

I can only imagine the things Stefanie could have said about missing something.

Did you have much trouble with your stroller getting moved around when you had to leave it outside attractions?
We did have (details later) the teddy bear harness and Dylan did extremely well with it. I just wish we could have used it more, but it was so crowded he didn't get the chance to roam so much.
We didn't really have that much trouble with the stroller being moved. The neon gree lei affixed to the handle - and the stroller being red - helped find it really quickly if it was moved.

We havne't seen FOTLK either, but definitely are going to try in December. I highly reccommend Nemo.
Side Note: Dylan now knows who Nemo is and says "MoMo" now when he sees him. Well really any fish is, but it's a good thing he's learned who he is since his bathroom is decorated with Finding Nemo characters and Little Mermaid.
