Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue TR-Cruise portion **Updated 3/7** COMPLETE - Page 21 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sorry for the delay guys I'd been sick for two weeks and finally went to the doctor Friday and found out I had an ear infection in both ears on top of a sinus infection. Now that I've got meds I'm feeling much better I'll try to get back on updating soon. There's only a couple installments left
Those must be some meds ... look at all the smiley faces
Seriously though, glad you're starting to feel better, looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip. And glad to see you don't have much longer before your next trip!

WOW! I am so happy I found this TR You are an awesome story-teller!! My dh thinks I'm crazy for obsessing over our upcoming cruise since it is 20 months away... crazy?? NAH!! Anyway, I hope you get to feeling better soon!! Can't wait to read more!! Take care!!
Read both the PTR and the TR and loved them both, can't wait for the last few bits. You guys seem like a great couple- my fiance and I are heading to our very own exciting disneymoon in september with a stay at WDW and then a cruise, hope we have as much fun as you guys!
Well it's time to finally put this TR to rest... with another one creeping around the corner and the fact its been about 3 months and counting since I started... But really, it's apparently what I do. Would you expect any more or less of me? I didn't think so
So after our run in the rain back on board we went back to our stateroom to change out of the rain soaked clothes. Well at least Andy did. I think I stayed the same.
OH and before I forget (and I can't remember if I already told this story or not), remember the gray pants that I wore to the pool and told you that was the last time you'd see those??? Yeah, well I had hung them out on the chair on the verandah to dry.....and the was the last I saw of them. I don't know if in a rush to pack (that will happen later tonight) I just forgot about them, if they committed themselves to sea. I like to go with the latter option. Makes for a funnier story
So anyway, that was the fate of the gray pants. I loved those gray pants. RIP gray pants.....wherever you may be.
We headed up to Deck 4 to enjoy the late afternoon before we got ready for Palo. We sat on those comfy comfy chairs, watched the sun go down and watched the last of the people coming back from the beach.
After awhile we headed back in to start showering and changing for the evening. We ended up sitting on the verandah for a little while while the last few people were coming back in from CC. You could see them CMs on the island finishing up as well.
One last shot of CC as the boat started churning away...
I showered first and then Andy went in the shower while I got ready. I was wearing my black robe....not the biggest thing in the world mind you. Why am I telling you this TMI? Because while I was drying my hair, I had the door to the verandah open, and I was sitting in front of the vanity, oblivious to everything except the drying of my hair. I thought I felt a weird breeze and looked towards the door to see what had happened.....nothing... I kept drying my hair...and then I glance to my right...and there's poor Allain, our stateroom host, peekign his head in the door!! I almost freaked. But I think I scared him more than he scared me. He had knocked and knocked on the door to give us our tip envelopes....but b/c Andy was in the shower and I was drying my hair nobody heard it. So he was coming in to leave them! Poor guy. I felt kind of weird making eye contact with him after that. Good thing it was the last night of our trip!
Finally we were both ready and I was starting to freak out a bit about getting all our stuff packed and outside b/c I didn't know when we'd be back to the room. So then came the haste of throw EVERYTHING into the bags and worry about what's what when we get home. Thus the loss of the gray pants
Oh, and I took a pic of our turkey/monkey from the day before...
We were then ready to head towards Palo. We left in time to have our formal portraits made with Tux Mickey and Ball gown Minnie. Then we had our formal portrait made in front of the tree which was nice. My family really liked that one. I'll get Andy to scan our pictures we bought and post them.
Dinner at Palo was just fabulous. Best meal experience of the trip obviously! We had a fantastic server who knew a lot about the food. For dessert he brought us a pretty decorated plate to celebrate our anniversary. And he brought the two desserts we ordered PLUS the one that he said was his favorite!!! And you know what, he was right, his was the best!
After dinner I was very ready to get out of that dress and heels. I c'mon, you know me! That is SO not me! So we went back to the room to change. We found this creature on our bed...
Wearing my sunglasses no less!!
After we changed we had some time to just relax. We went to the adult pool bar and ordered a drink from Shri. He was leaving for the night so it was good to see him one last time. Then it was getting close to time for the Until We Meet Again party, so we made our way to the lobby atrium. We were able to snag a front spot for the beginning!
Then we dispursed amongst the crowds to get that last shot with the characters... First was Captain Hook who was right by us...
Then was my buddy!! He was upstairs on Deck 4...
And my newfound friend....
Then I made Andy get with Cinderella back downstairs since she was lonely....Cinderella...lonely??? Yeah right!
I like how he's standing a mile away from her in that first picture....like he's afraid he'll step on and dirty up her dress!
After the photo ops all the characters came back together to say farewell on the stage and steps...
Stitch did NOT want to leave!
We had to yell at him to go to bed!!
After the party it was back to the room for yet ANOTHER change of clothes. Geez, what were we, on the oscars or something??? This time it was Andy, not me. Then we headed down to the lounge for some farewell drinks. Some champagne was most fitting we thought. Love this next pic.....you can see how the night was progressing...
After our drinks we decided we should probably go to bed. We had to be up early in the morning as we were getting our butts kicked off. We got in the elevator and saw a wheelchair, so Andy decided if its there, he might as well sit in it....
Dork
And one last shot from the verandah...
Chugging along back home
I'll continue in the next post....gotta edit a couple last pics....

Our last morning I was awake early...I kept wondering where we were... it started to get lighter from the lights outside and I knew we must be close... I could feel us still moving though... finally we stopped and I heard the banging of crew down below. We got up when our wake up call came and got ready for breakfast. We said our final goodbye to our fabulous room, to our fabulous Allain, and headed downstairs. Breakfast hadn't started yet for our group. Thank God we chose second dinner seating. There's no way I could've eaten breakfast at 6:45! We sat and people watched until it was time to go in. We talked about how quickly we learned our way around.....think back to our first moments onboard. We had no clue what we were doing, but now, in just 3 days, we knew our way around, what to do, and felt at home. I even had gotten over the headache dizzy feelings! And now, Mickey was giving us the boot off the boat! I was, of course, very sad, as usual. I hate leaving places, especially Disney.
We went in for breakfast and everyone at our table was there. Andy and the honeymooning guy talked music and sound systems. They were really nice, but I can't remember their names. They were heading to POFQ for the rest of their trip. I was way jealous. We briefly thought about driving back to DTD for lunch, but knew that was stupid. We had to continue on.... we were stopping St. Augustine for lunch to relive that part of our honeymoon, and then we had to be in Savannah for the night so we'd be close enough to our families that we'd make it for Thanksgiving lunch and dinner the next day.
Breakfast was very tasty. I had the pancakes and they were very very good.
Andy at the table
Once we were done, we knew we needed to head on. Sadly, we said our final farewell...
Overall.... it was a great trip. From start to finish. We had a magical very memorable time at WDW celebrating our anniversary. Being surprised by Angie!!! Spending time with the Bakers! The CR was more fantastical than we imagined. Just a fantastic time. We had no idea what to expect with the cruise, but really we felt at home once we got used to it. Would we do it again? Yes.... I think I think I would be more prepared next time. If I had to choose though, I'd choose WDW. And I think we'd switch it around, do the cruise first then WDW. Or maybe sandwich the cruise in between two WDWs Yeah! That's the ticket!
So I hope you enjoyed this long drawn out TR. Only 34 more days until the Fools on the Hill Frolic at the Flower and Garden Festival!!
Thanks so much for finishing up your trip report, Melissa! As always, I love your pics - just as much as your easy-going attitude I just realized you're leaving for WDW the same day we fly to Florida ourselves! (We won't be at WDW till April 30, though). So here's hoping the next 34 days go by very quickly!
Well geez, thanks so much for finally finishing. I can't wait for the next one, it's always a great TR when Pom and Brandi are involved. This TR was what finally convinced me to try a cruise so you should be very proud of that!!!
