VERY FIRST FAMILY VACATION-JUNE 21ST -JULY 5TH - Page 20 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

At this point I put my camera down apparently but we did do Peter Pan's Flight then It's a Small World as our last ride then leisurely walked out while they played a song that basically said Good night and get out.
loved just staring at Main Street then turning around to the castle at night
This pic looks like we lifted it from an ad.
Even with my daughter's illness this was the most productive day to date it seemed anyway. And we walked on EVERYTHING. It was GREAT and I can't wait to go back.
Sidenote: On the way back we hit some sort of MAJOR traffic jam and was in traffic for two hours which meant we didn't get home until well after 2am. Whew!
UP NEXT...What will it be Universal or Disney?

My son just corrected me, we did Buzzlight Year THREE times and we did Peter Pan's Flight twice. I know we just walked off one ride and literally on another with absolutely no wait so I guess that is possible.

I'm glad your daughter bounced back so quickly - I was worried there for a while. That really does sound like a great day at the MK, isn't it fun when you can be so productive, especially during one of the most crowded times?
We really enjoyed our magical day at MK. I was pleasantly surprised that the crowds were so low at that time of night on July 1st. It was great. Moving on to
We woke up a little later due to the late night at MK, ate a hearty breakfast then debated on going to Universal or Epcot. I was all for Epcot because I realized I hadn't tried the Grand Marnier Slushy yet. Yes I was going there JUST for that. LOL. So now we're off to Epcot. We headed straight for the Seas and back to Finding Nemo since the kids really enjoyed it last time.
Then we went over to
A show was about to start. We did stop to take a few pictures of the jelly fish and to do the little quiz they have on the computers which the kids really enjoyed.
I LOOOOVE this show. The twins sat in the front but my daughter was a too afraid and sat with me and my mom in the back. Crush asked the twins why they have matching shells. They had no idea how to answer that one they just looked at each other. He moved on and asked did anyone have any questions for him. A little boy asked what does he eat? And he told him can't remember the answer. Then Josiah raised his hand and he said yes you in the yellow and blue shell number 1. He said what kinda stuff do you eat? He said oh does Alzheimers run in your family? Maybe you hit your head on the way in it's ok. Everyone laughed and it went RIGHT over his head. LOL. My sense of humor is not up there with Crush's but trust me it was hilarious. We went out to the exhibits and they spent a little more time there.
Ok this is where things get fuzzy because I'm taking less and less pictures at this point. I do remember my son was really bugging me to do Innovations so I gave him my cell phone and let him go but told him we had to leave to go to the car at 12 or so for lunch. We then took the little kids on
cont in next post

After all the running around it was time for us to meet my oldest and head out for lunch. Ok now I tried calling him and of course, he didn't answer the phone. It was now 12:30 so I thought he would have been anxious that we haven't called yet but no. I went into Innoventions couldnt' find him. I looked everywhere! Now I'm starting to panic a little bit because I don't often let him just leave us and do his thing but I'm like he's about to turn 12 and that's an age he should be given more responsibility. Well...I'm thinking I was wrong about that. After a half hour of looking I go to the otherside of Innoventions and there he was engrossed in a game, I don't even remember which game I was so upset. I told him that was it for his alone time. He said he didn't know what time it was and didn't hear the phone. granted it was VERY loud in there but it's now 1pm you didn't think to double check the time especially after I said to watch the clock. We then took the kids to the car and had a leisurely lunch of sandwiches. I can't remember exactly what happened here but something did.... Darn.
Anyway, we went back to go towards WS but before we did that. Mission Space had a 10 minute wait for the green side. Test Track still had a 170 minute wait. What was up with that? Anyway, since me and my mom checked it out earlier we knew they could handle it so my Mom took Bria to eat a slushy while the boys and I completed our mission.
Since we didn't do Ellen's Energy we did it now and i fell asleep. I mean once we were past the dinos I was pretty much bored out of my mind. LOL. The kids really enjoyed it though surprisingly.
Ok, onward to WS

We went into WS and I decided to let the kids to masks at the kidcot stations this time..Mexico was up first again...
Then Morocco
WE actually spent a lot of time in this pavilion, I really enjoy all the buildings and facades. They have great gifts here too.
We then went outside and there was Morockin playing with the bellydancing. I loved it. Was quite a crowd out there by the time we got there, they only played a little while longer but I enjoyed every second of it.

Anywho then there was a certain frosty drink calling my name
sorry it was hot and I was thirsty. Didn't go far and went back for another one for me and one for my Mom as we walked over to UK. While there we were hungry so next stop which is now a favorite of mine.
They enjoyed it too
After horsing around a bit we began to head out but Illuminations was about to start and although we weren't going to stay and watch it...we did anyway.

We headed out with the masses right before the show ended. We were very close to the Friendship boats anyway so we just practically ran through Future World ahead of the crowds to get out. Only helped slightly though. LOL.
Up next...Some rides without the kids???? ALRIGHT!

Sounds like a great afternoon & evening at Epcot. Too funny about the interaction with Crush! Glad you decided to stay for Illuminations - it's such a great show. Looking forward to more
