The Third Time’s the Charm! Fourth (Third) Annual Mom and Me Trip--Updated twice on 10/21--now COMPLETE - Page 25 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sharon - I can't believe you didn't get a Woody's Fizzy Freeze when you were at that Kiosk - it's a DELICIOUS frozen coke!! I had one and it was SUPER good!

Wow....that is what I call a mega update....awesome! See, all your trips should be planned close together, this way you churn out the updates one after the other!
MNSSHP sounds like a smashing success...oodles of candy, short lines, great pics!

Oh! This TR gets better and better! Seeing all those photos of the Halloween decorations is making me really really really excited for my upcoming trip!
Great update! LOVE all the pictures....especially that super creepy guy by the boat dock. He would give me the shivers!
I love Hallowishes, I hope to get down there next year for MNSSHP, last year we were basically rained out! Everyone but my oldest DD and I wanted to leave. What a bunch of whiners. We had to go with, or we wouldn't have had a ride back. (we rented a villa) Oh well, this year we get to go to MVMCP! (Hopefully there won't be any rain!)
What a great night at the Party - I am now so excited to be going a week today! I love your photos of the parade and fireworks and your hat is so cool!
Outstanding pictures. Thanks for MNSSHP tips. We're going to try to watch parade twice. Does it run the same way each time? Love your t-shirt. Did they have several different ones this year? Ooo, here's another question. What setting did you use on your camera for the parade photos? I can't believe that I'll be seeing this first hand in just over a week. Thanks for getting me 'pumped up' for my trip.
The parade starts in Frontierland both times. The t-shirt I wore was from MNSSHP 2005. I took the pictures using flash. You just have to be patient and wait for your subject to get close to you before you take the picture. I'm sure you'll have fun at the party!

I'm glad you liked the party at DLR. I'm going to that one on the 28th!

MNSSHP is definitely my fav of all the parties. You really need to do it!

Poor Charlie Brown. Those awful, mean adults should know better!

My goodness that hat was tight! It was almost giving me a headache. I thought at first I'd bought a child's hat by mistake, but when I checked, it was adult. Maybe my head is getting bigger.

No, wait! She’ll cluckGhost Riders in the Sky! It’ll be awesome! Imagineer 1: … DUUUUUUUDE!! That rocks!!!!
I also wonder what those two were doing immediately before that conversation.
I know what they did *after* that conversation – two words: WHITE CASTLE!!

I wasn't too worried about Mom getting up in the middle of the night to raid my candy. But I was planning on leaving her alone with it the next morning. That's what worried me.

Loved the pictures of the parade and the show...and Hallowishes (I would have been a teary eyes dork by then - I cry everytime even if I see it more than once )
Can't wait to hear more...(and hear if there was any candy left?????)
I was glad I had planned a meal at LTT before they announced the characters were leaving. I'm glad I got to eat there one last time.

Looking forward to more.
I use flash for the nighttime parade pics and usually get good pictures. And I hid the key in my suitcase. I knew DM would never think to look there!

It's so catchy it's hard not to cluck along.

At that time, we were still "full" from breakfast. But there's always next trip.

Great night at the party.
I thought about hiding it under my pillow, but I'm such a sound sleeper, I probably wouldn't wake up if she took it out.

That creepy guy! We were walking along and most people didn't even notice him. I did and went to take a picture. That's when he held up the lantern and posed. It was really creepy!

Oh, so many good things in this installment! First of all, that hat is to DIE for! I absolutely love it - - that cute bow on it just makes me smile!
And MNSSHP was just made for your DM! You didn't catch her stealing candy from small children, did you?
And Charlie Brown and his rock! That made me laugh so hard! Mary Devall's nursery was actually decorated with a Peanuts theme - - my mom drew the characters on the walls - - so we love us some Charlie Brown in our family.
Your interaction with Jane was hilarious! Jane was supposed to be our last stop of the night, but the rest of our gang just couldn't take another stop! Now I really hate that I missed her becuase I loved her line of why she stayed in Africa. Who knew such a proper girl had such a wicked sense of humor!
And your clucking . . . had me in stitches! And you were totally sober - - unless you had a little something something under your Minnie hat!
