The Mighty Morphing Birthday Trip - Thread 2 - COMPLETE!! - UPDATED 12/1 - Page 11 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

One other great falling story... a few years ago, before we were even married, Andy and I were walking around Clemson and we went to cross the street... well I feel right in the middle of the road, for no reason....not drunk, not wearing heels, not dark, just up and fell. And Andy, being his wonderful not so helpful self, yells at me that a car is coming which causes me to try to get up too quickly and I fall again..... and there was NEVER any car coming....
OK, I have to stop reading your TR's at work!! My boss keeps looking at me like I have lost my mind!
I your pics of the statues close up, with the background of greenery all faded. You should matte those and hang them in your house!

I just read your last update and loved it! All of us in my family are total TTA nerds and will sometimes randomly say "Now Approaching..." when we're driving somewhere. I was also glad to read that you wore your birthday button every day. I wore my "Happy Anniversary" button the whole week we were there, even though our 15th Anniversary was earlier in the month. (DH didn't wear his button all the time, and suffered some ribbing from CM's as a result )

Hey guys Long time no post, I know But I've got some extra time here at work, and another trip quickly approaching, so I figured I'd better get back on the ball with this thing
Day 5 part 2 After our morning/afternoon at the MK we boated our way back to the WL. I can't remember exactly what we did...went swimming maybe? Took a nap? I can't remember, maybe Andy does, and maybe that's a good reason to watch our videos (like I need a good reason to watch my Disney videos )
Anyhoo, the plan for the evening was to have dinner at Alfredo's (our first, and last, experience there before it closed). Then we were going to meet up with Maureen and her Beatles pals for some British Invasion. We got to Epcot and made our way around to Italy. This was Epcot ADR #2 where we had to book it all the way to the back of the park to make our ADR (first was the Biergarten). We made it and had to wait a few minutes to be seated. The place was really neat inside. I didn't like that we had to sit so closely to another family... like me and the other guy were on the same booth while Andy and the other chick were in chairs...make sense? It was just too close. I felt like I was eavesdropping on everything they said.
The strolling musician came by our table, and of course Andy had his appendage strapped on tightly (aka video camera for you folks that don't know his disease). When the musician saw that he sang directly to the camera, hamming it up big time. He stood there and sang the whole song...to the camera... It was hilarious...
While we were eating it started to storm outside. We hadn't really been rained on since our first night... We piddled around finishing our meal...finally left and went into some of the shops and waited out the rain. When it finally let up a little we popped the umbrella and started making our way to England where Maureen and her friends were waiting on us. We met them in the tea shop and quickly introduced ourselves. Andy and I went to get grab a from the pub while they did something, and then we met them back around where the band plays.
It was really great to hang out more with my twinkie! I had met her a few years ago at a MVMCP, but only briefly. The only thing I really knew about her was that she loved penguins But now I know a whole lot more. We share the same bday, the same love for a certain blue alien, a certain love for a british tribute band, and a certain love for Disney.
Andy made a bootleg collection of rare Beatles songs to give to Maureen's friends. I think they got a kick out of it. So that's cool
After the show Maureen had to get back home. We started making our way out, looked in the shops and had to get this photo op... my hubby, in his St. Pepper tshirt, with his Sgt. Pepper tattoo, in front of the Beatles display..
We considered hanging around for Illuminations. It was starting to look a little doomy in the sky, and we felt a few little drops... Then we saw it coming.. It was crazy, but we saw the massive downpour coming across the lagoon. Up went the umbrella, down came the rain, and the lightening. We quickly booked it outta there to get back to the WL. There were some serious lightening strikes going on, and we were SOAKED, even with an umbrella.
When we got back to the WL it wasn't raining there, but the storm was still brewing. We quickly changed clothes in hopes of making it down to the dock to see the EWP. We were just in time...
The lightening was really something by now, and I wanted to see if I could catch it with my camera. That's the beauty of my Rebel, no shutter lag whatsover. I set it on a post, kept my finger on the button, and as soon as a strike hit, I snapped away. The first few tries got me some darker, not as great shots, but then, I got the King Daddy...
The only editing done to that photo was to crop it down to make it long and skinny. I was very proud of that one
Now that we figured we tempting fate being that close to water and lightening strikes, we headed back up to the room...
When we got in the room and changed into our pj's we realized we could see the fireworks from the MK!! Now I have to start by saying that outside our door were some of the LOUDEST frog things I have ever heard. And I think there had to be a million of them, minimum They went on and on and on... But when the fireworks went off, the frogs did too. Fireworks 1, frogs 0.
Here's a stinky photo just to show you we could see the fireworks
We decided to hit the sack, it was getting late and we were pooped. Tomorrow was our photo session at Epcot and we were very excited!!
Yay - I'm so excited. I was noticing you posting other threads and was wondering if you would update. You must have read my mind. Maybe I will have to invest in this rebel you speak of cuz I took the same picture from the back of WL and trust me, it looks nothing like that one!!! Same with the EWP pics - ours are just blurry blobs of light. . . . Well hopefully you'll be able to finish up before the xmas trip. And maybe post some youtube stuff????
Yeah, you're back! I love a good thunderstorm, so I very impressed by your lightening photo! You guys managed to have a great evening despite being chased by thunderstorms. Great that you were able to see Maureen!
Day 6 Part 1 This morning was our photo session with Robyn Lynn. We booked her through Gifts of a Lifetime and it was well worth it! We got ready and were at Epcot by about 10. We met Robyn and got things started. She was so fabulous! She was very easy to talk to, very personable, made you feel comfortable (even though I felt like a dummy having my picture made so much ) I'm just going to post the pictures for you. I know Maureen has already booked Robyn for a family shoot for Christmas. I highly recommend her!
The pictures are great. You guys are going to really be picture crazy when you have kids of your own ! I'm sure that my picture taking at least doubled at that point in my life! Anyway, love the pictures taken by Robyn Lyn.
