Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

I\'m such a dope . . .

I lost the Disney Dollars my PTA board gave me as a thank you gift for serving as president this year. I was getting some stuff together for my Disney box last night and they weren't there. I've torn my house apart and can't find them. All I can figure is they got mixed in with a pile of junk and on one of my tidying sprees I dumped them in the trash. I was supposed to buy a special souvenier with that money on my trip in July.

The only good part was I had used half the money to purchase the Captain Hook ship snow globe I had been wanting when it was on sale at the Disney Store. So, at least I've got something to remember the year by!

Thanks for listening, tinskmom

Don't worry - they'll probably turn up as soon as you return from your trip! That's how I usually find things that I'm missing.

Either you are not a dope or we are all a little dopey at times! We all lose things of value from time to time. Haven't you ever found $20 in your pocket? You also have until July to find the disney dollars! They could still turn up. Good luck!!

Re: I\'m such a dope . . .

That is a bummer! I'm sorry. But if it makes ya feel any better - you are not alone! Somehow a few years ago I "misplaced" (threw out) tickets to Les Miserables that cost $100 each! Of course, we didn't realize they were missing until the day of the show!!! Can you say panic attack? I'm talking dressed and ready to go and can't find the tickets! Tore the house apart and finally called Visa, where I'd purchased the tickets - they called the box office, the box office had record of the tickets and we got in after showing proof of identity just as about the curtain was going up! I just KNEW I'd encounter the jerk who stole our tickets sitting in our seats! We never did find those tickets, so I do assume they were thrown out. Keep positive and maybe it will turn up in someplace strange!

Re: I\'m such a dope . . .

Everyone has done that one time or another. I tucked $100 in my jean pockets and then donated them to St. Mary's. My only thought was that I know someone who could use the money more than me got it.

Hopefully it will turn up!!!

Kudos to you for volunteering on the PTA. I was co-president for two years then held an assortment of positions for about 10 years. Miss those days.

Re: I\'m such a dope . . .

Don't panic! They may turn up yet!

I had $440 in Traveller's checks left from our April trip. I stashed the envelope in the pile with all my Colorado travel stuff to use this weekend (when we travel to CO to see my stepson graduate). Last week, I was checking my reservation, and could not find the checks. I looked everywhere...Panic set in as I thought they had gotten thrown out. I started to look for the list of numbers you get that no one really saves to call and report them lost, when Ta Da! There they were, in the pile with my DH's computer instruction guides. How did they get there? I have no idea. But they did turn up...so, keep the faith and look in really strange places! Re: I\'m such a dope . . .

I know you said that you tore the house apart but give it a few days when you have a chance to calm down. I usually put things in a "SAFE" place and then can't find them. "I'm positive I put them here" Then a few days later they show up in an unexpected place. Good Luck! I hope they turn up! Sending pixie dust! Re: I\'m such a dope . . .

Thanks for all your words of encouragement and pixie dust. School was out yesterday, so today I'm relaxing. Tomorrow I will systematically take my home apart and pray that I find those Disney Dollars. As my DH said, I've done this sort of thing before.

Keep sending the good thoughts and pixie dust and I'll let you know the outcome.

Tinksmom, hope it's not the one you send me I'm just asking in case it is

Hope you find them before your trip

Re: I\'m such a dope . . .

They will turn up. Just retrace your steps, think about where you have placed them. And then relax. I am sure you have had a bunch on your mind, so once you are able to step back for a moment... then you will remember where they are.
But here is some pixie dust, just in case.

Re: I\'m such a dope . . .

Hope you find them. A woman on another board just lost several unused Park Hoppers and has yet to find them. She doesn't know what the numbers were and because she didn't buy them from Disney they have no records. She's in a tough spot. The moral of the story is photocopy all of your hoppers.

Re: I\'m such a dope . . .

Man, it just goes to prove, someone always has it worse than you!

Don't worry, Chantal, I sent you your's months ago. I only received these May 7. The only thing I can figure out is they were on a stack of garbage I got tired of looking at and threw the stack in the trash.

I'm not giving up hope until I've cleaned every cabinet and drawer in my home. I did start replacing them today, though. I bought a $10 DD today when I was buying some for my DD.

Thanks everyone,

Re: I\'m such a dope . . .

Disneyknut, My DD goes to school at J.B. Little Elementary in Arlington, TX. I start my second term at president June 1. I've been blessed with a wonderful board for the most part and it sure makes my job tons easier!
