The Walt Disney World/Disneyland Double Dip Trip!! *COMPLETED!* 7/11 - Page 10 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sharon, your pictures are always amazing. Hurry back with more.
And Karen, that "peach bottom" description. Hilarious. I want to see the pictures that you posted. Do I need to know the secret handshake?

Well... the truth of the two men on the tour is that they ended up asking me for CARSON'S phone number....
Lovin' the make-it-up additions to your TR, Sharon. Keeps everyone on their toes
And... Karen. Your obsession with Miss Peach Bottom is not nearly as hilarious as a certain gal we're gonna meet in MY next update. You just couldn't leave her alone...

Day Twelve, Part Two The Real Truth About Another PassPorter… Maybe… Sarah
After AWIWF, a few of us wanted to do the tour of the Disneyland Hotel given for resort guests. We headed over and grabbed Indy FPs for later, then Karen, Tina, Janine and I headed over to the DLH.
We hadn’t registered for the tour, and neither had anyone else, so they hadn’t scheduled anyone to give it. There would be another tour running later in the week and I made a note to myself to register for that one.
Karen wasn’t feeling great and decided to go back to the GC for a rest and the rest of us headed to DL. It was time to use our Indy FPs, so we headed to Adventureland first. This is really a fantastic ride, and the queue is a big part of the experience. One thing I really love about Indy is that a few of the show elements change each ride, so you never get the same experience twice.
After Indy, we met up with Sarah, Emilie and Terri and we headed for Space Mountain, which had a nonexistent standby line. I managed a few pictures in the queue.
I hadn’t ridden the Rockin’ version of Space Mountain before, and though I enjoyed it, I missed the “space” theme, and I also felt like it wasn’t dark enough, which makes the ride more fun, I think. But it was loads of fun.
I called Eileen to see where they were, and they were on the Storybook Canal boats, so we agreed to meet at IASW. We headed over and stopped for ice cream treats. I got a frozen banana that was so frozen it could be considered a deadly weapon. I had to wait a while for it to thaw before I could start eating it, and that’s why I was still working on it when Eileen, Dawn and Liz joined us (and I again commend Eileen for not making any rude comments about it ).
When we were all done with our various snacks, we headed into IASW. The CM noted we had an unusually high number of redheads in our group. I enjoy the fact that this ride starts outside, then goes inside, then back outside. My outside photos came out great. The inside photos, not so much.
Then Terri, Sarah and Emilie went to Toontown, I think and Eileen, Dawn, Tina, Janine and I headed to the Matterhorn, where I took this odd photo.
Eileen and Dawn rode together…
As did Tina and Janine…
and I brought up the rear. No self portrait, so you’ll have to use your imagination. Just picture me with a doofy grin and you’ve got it!
Eileen decided to head back to the GC for a rest and to check on Karen. On the way, we spotted the Mad Hatter playing with a little girl.
Peek-a-boo!
I see you!
Eileen pointed out this terrific statue of the White Rabbit.
As we reached Main Street, Eileen and I decided to do a little shopping, and we ran into Crystal and Doug. They were thinking of heading to Knott’s Berry Farm for their famous fried chicken, but I don’t think they made it there.

Reason: Fix pictures
When we got almost to our room, we ran into Karen, who was feeling better. She was too afraid to do any solo touring in the park, so she headed back to the room with us. We hung out relaxing for a while, then Tina joined us. We were soon ready to head back and picked up Dawn and Janine. We caught the monorail back, and we all were very amused by the monorail spiel. They talked about the new Nemo submarine ride and the announcer said it was “coming [then a CM comes on and says “SUMMER”] 2007.” It was funny because it was so obviously done.
In Tomorrowland, our first stop was Autopia, which I think is so cute. Unfortunately the CM at the entrance was not cute. I think the word I’d use is “scary.” Eileen’s photo of us getting on line says it all…

Dawn had to leave for her dinner PS, so we said goodnight to her before we got on. When we were done, we caught up with Terri, Sarah, and Emilie in front of IASW, a completely fabulous parade spot ( Karen).
The parade started, and I spent my time concentrating on getting photos.
If you haven’t heard the story of the “Fork” dangling his junk for Sarah, read Eileen’s hilarious recount of it. But what she didn’t explain was why this particular CM chose to dangle his junk in front of Sarah. This picture of Sarah taken earlier in the day explains (note her t-shirt).
When the parade ended, we headed back to Tomorrowland. First we hit Buzz, and I rode with Eileen. I also contacted the folks at Disney about the fraudulent scores people were given, and they were kind enough to send me the corrected ride photo…
Well, it’s obvious some of us are much better at Photoshop than others. Ahem. Oh, I have to remind you not to go back to Eileen’s TR to check my score. It’s blatantly false! I got 999,999, honest.
We had time for one more ride, and we made it Space Mountain. Woo-hoo! We exited the park and some of us needed to eat, so we headed to La Brea Bakery. I think I had soup, but I didn’t take a photo, so I can’t be sure. Then we sat under the heaters and just talked for a while before finally heading in for the night.

Sarah, where ever did you find such a great t-shirt. It's AMAZING that you just happened to have a shirt like that with all the talk about white asparagus!!
And, Sharon! I admire how much of a quick learner you are! Eileen must be some teacher because isn't your score normally less than 1% of that! WOW!! Impressive!
Lies! Lies! Lies, I tell ya! Look at all dem LIES!!!
