Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

More getting to know you questions 11/14

I found some more great getting to know you questions that I wanted to share.. Here goes
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>1. What is the best practical joke you've played on somebody?
2. What is the worst song people play at their wedding?
3. What is the worst TV show ( past or present) that you'll admit to being a fan of?
4. For the guys- Betty or Wilma? For the gals- Fred or Barney?
5. If you could have a conversation with anybody who ever lived & ius now deceased what would you ask them?
6. If somebody gave you a free ticket to a Britney Spears concert, would you go?
Here's my answers...
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>1.Hmm... can I get back to you on that one? I can't really think of any off the top of my head but I'm sure after reading some of the other posts one or two will come to mind.
2. Celebration by Kool & the gang.. I had specifically asked the band ( yikes.. BAND.. I'm showing my age) at my first wedding NOT to play that song.. when I heard the opening chords I ran up to them & made them stop instantly!
Second would have to be the chicken dance.. ICK!
3. I've got two..Dukes of Hazard.. how corny can you get? I probably only watched it because John Schenider was such a hunk. I'm almost embarassed to say I also used to faithfully watch the Love Boat
4. Barney.. Fred is too loud.. give me the dumb short ones!
5. My Mom... just to talk to her again & get all of correct answers to her relationship with her sister ( looong story) I was asked this question a couple of years ago ( 7?) & my answer at that time was Nicole Brown Simpson & my question would have been simply " Did OJ really do it?"
6. It would have to be tickets so that my almost 4YO DD could go.. she's a big Britney fan but if it were just one I wouldn't go.. but I would take the ticket & sell it on Ebay
Re: More getting to know you questions 11/14

1) Answering a question to: what's the password for the helpdesk account with BYTEME. Which was the actual password at that time. What a riot!
2)Another one bites the dust. What's that about?
3) Any wrestling show. &lt;I still watch wrestling btw &gt;
4) Definately Betty
5) David Letterman. I'd love to throw a pencil through the "window."
6) Ummm. One word: NO!

Re: More getting to know you questions 11/14

1. I'm not very good at practical jokes so I can't think of any. I just like to hide and scare the snot out of people.
2. The Macarena (?) I do not want to see 80 yr old grannys doing that!
3. If I liked it it has to be good
4. Barney - he is sweet and kind
5. Probably my maternal grandmother - she died when my mom was 5 or 6. I would just like to know all about her.
6. If only one ticket, probably not. I like her okay but don't care for concerts much. mary

Re: More getting to know you questions 11/14

I love these questions!

1. Best practical joke was telling my daughter to find the "any" key on the keyboard and watching her look all over it for 1/2 hour! Hey its mean but it was my 1/2 hour of happiness!
2. Worst song? I would have to say "shout" or "celebration". C'mon the chicken dance is cool!
3. Worst show that Im a fan of? Well, I do like Weakest Link. Yes its another one of those Who Wants to be take offs but I just like watching it to see who can insult Ann the best! I swear, sometimes I am better than the contestants they have!
4. Barney--I have a thing for blonde men.
5. Princess Diana...what did you see in Prince Charles girl??
6. Britney Spears huh? hmmm probably not. I really dont want to see her in those outfits with her boobs almost falling out....no offense to the men who like her for that reason.

2.worst song at wedding - FEELINGS

3. worst show I have watched - CHIPs when I was younger, now, Temptation Island - I feel sooooo bad

4. Barney/Fred - Fred, the strong, hardwoking type that is not afraid to tell you what he needs (and then does what you want, anyway!)

6. Free Brtney tic. There is NO way, well, maybe if it was in a plush suite with gourmet food and a TV or stereo with headphones that drown out all outside noise!

1. Not in to pratical jokes.
2. worse song at a wedding--D-i-v-o-r-c-e. It's from the 70's. The band really sang this at my cousin's wedding. A divorce song at a wedding????

Re: More getting to know you questions 11/14

Here's my answers:

1. I'm not a real practical joker...I guess I take life too seriously. Note to self: Lighten Up!
2. Butterfly Kisses...ever time I hear it I have to fight hte nausea. Funny thing is that my mother suggested I use it at my wedding--NOT.
3. I am a shameless Young and the Restless addict. It's the mindless part of my day that I enjoy while cooking dinner and drinking a glass of wine.
4. Barney--he's just as stupid but much more malleable.
5. Lee Harvey Oswald: "Did you act alone?" (I just get a kick out of conspiracy theorists)
6. I've never sold anything on ebay but this would be an incentive to learn.

Re: More getting to know you questions 11/14

1: No pratical jokes that I can remember.

2: You Light Up My Life by Debbi Boone...UGH!!!!!

3: OK,( you and me, bobwerner) I used to watch WCW Monday Nitro...I know, kinda weird for a 41 year old mom, but, heck it totally amused me! We even went to a couple of tapings, totally silly fun!

4: Barney, he was sweet

5: Walt Disney, to tell him "Thank You, from the bottom of my heart" and Judas, who betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. I wonder what he would have to say for himself...

6: Not even if Brittney lived across the street...Ugh, Ugh, and Double UGH!

Re: More getting to know you questions 11/14

1. What is the best practical joke you've played on somebody? We stole the HUGE tree one of my bosses has in his office and put it in another office. It was so funny!! (that's not the best joke, but it was the first one I could think of and the most recent.)

2. What is the worst song people play at their wedding? There is love.

3. What is the worst TV show ( past or present) that you'll admit to being a fan of? Dukes of Hazzard and Dynasty

4. For the guys- Betty or Wilma? For the gals- Fred or Barney? Big hunky Fred!!

5. If you could have a conversation with anybody who ever lived & is now deceased what would you ask them? Jesus and I would ask why we're all here.

6. If somebody gave you a free ticket to a Britney Spears concert, would you go? YUP!! And I'm not ashamed to admit that I am a 31 year old Britney Spears fan!! So there! LOL!!

Re: More getting to know you questions 11/14

1. If you have one of those hose things on your kitchen sink, wrap a rubber band around the handle so that the next person who turns on the water gets a wet surprise.
2. The Electric Slide and the Macarena. I refused to let either of these be played at our wedding.
3. Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
4. Barney. Fred is just too loud and cranky.
5. My grandfather. I would ask him how come he had fifteen kids if he didn't like crowds? Their house and back yard made for some pretty crowded family reunions in the summers. There are 44 grandchildren in this family and the great grandchildren are still coming. (we all lost count a long time ago).
6. Britney who? JK. Not my type of music. I'm just a country hillbilly.

Re: More getting to know you questions 11/14

Me next!
1. Best pratical joke? Getting a guy at work to believe the April Fool's story the student paper at Duke had printed about some guy in Chatham county that had produced a lotion that would cause feathers to erupt all over your body. The article was too funny!! The guy had pictures, scientific proof and everything so Daniel feel for it hook, line and sinker! He even called home to his mother to say he wanted to invest in the company if they should sell stock. It was a classic moment if I say so myself.
2. Worst wedding song? Hmm....Groovy Kind of Love (GAG!)
3. TV Show? Gotta think on this one awhile.
4. Barney definitely.
5. Wow, toughie...I'll get back to ya on this one too.
6. N-O!
