Forums Closed

As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Julie Andrews had it going on!
Ever just wanna go to the top of the mountain and shout for joy!? Ya'll I'm in such a terrific mood today - it's Saturday, got 3 healthy gorgeous kiddos, a super wife who is supportive of all I do, a great house, a cool dog, a thriving new business with a great partner - and most importantly a loving God and Saviour watching over me and helping me along the journey of life!
Man, I'm just feeling stoked today! What are you jazzed about today?!?

Re: Julie Andrews had it going on!
The hills are alive.....with the sound of music.... (so funny you posted that - I just watched the movie on Thursday with my daughter)
My list is very similar to yours Steve... Let's see - 2 wonderful kids, an awesome husband who supports what I do and allows me to stay home with our kids, a prospering side business, my husband is now on shore duty and will retire from his current command (no more long separations for us) and also a loving and forgiving God.

Re: Julie Andrews had it going on!
It's kinda hard to get excited when the temp stays below freezing! I realize that it's warmer where I live than what New England has but it's still hard. I was so cold yesterday after I went to town and then got gas. It took me 2 hours to get warm.

Re: Julie Andrews had it going on!
Well, I'm going out to lunch and a movie with a couple girlfriends today. I haven't been out to a movie for several years! I hope the smell of the popcorn doesn't throw me for a loop!

My aunt is doing the final alterations on the MoH dress, my dress, and DF's vest today. The hills are alive with the sound of plaid.

Re: Julie Andrews had it going on!
Christ's blood has washed me as clean as the driven snow...
My husband still finds me beautiful and sexy, 16 years and about 50 lbs bigger than when we married...(Did I mention he is mentally ill?!LOL!)
My daughter will be 13 this year, when she should have never lived to even be born....... She has matured in her faith, she dosent have an attitude or a big head, even though she is a looker; likes to spend time w/her parents and brother, is kind to all she meets and believes in waiting for marriage before having sex; who could ask for anythign more out of a child?
I have a 9 year old son who still sneaks upstairs late at night to cuddle; not wanting to be little anymore, but not quite ready to give up lovin on his momma. He tells his parents he loves them SHOCK in front of his friends. He makes me laugh every single day.........
By the grace of God, we have been blessed w/the ability to buy our first home and to do it w/o putting ourselves into heart stopping debt.......
We live in ND, where I can see the northern lights, where the air is clean, the sky goes on forever and sunsets are like an explosion of color(no ambient lighting anywhere near me to screw up the view of the sun setting and rising and the stars twinkling) and the people treat everyone like family. Living here reminds me every day that there really is a God who loves beauty in all things....
i have a community here that are as big a disney freak as I am; so I am again normal!LOL!!

Going to spend some one on one time with my favorite little guy...Grandson T Harley is on his way over. Then meeting DD #1 at Home Depot to start planning redecorating of my bathroom and bedroom. We have Sunkings tickets for tonight, (CBA Basketball team) and will attend with DD #2 and her DH. Tomorrow after church, DH and myself will join friends at the Harlem Globetrotter exhibition at the Sundome. Time with family, it is what makes me happiest.

Re: Julie Andrews had it going on!
We worked on Skylar's room today and it's almost ready! Soooo cute to see all the little pink stuff around - I can't believe she'll be here in just a few short weeks
And of course, I've got my beautiful Shane who I love more than I ever thought possible and my wonderful, supportive husband who, even though I feel like Shamu, makes me feel beautiful and sexy
Life is lovely!

Re: Julie Andrews had it going on!
The Good Lord is at work through all of you! I've been feeling sorry for myself today for completely ridiculous reasons. . .and I find this post and a wonderful community to put all things in perspective. I have a beautiful home, and more importantly a wonderful, loving and totally beautiful family! My two girls are healthy, amazing and beautiful. DH still makes my heart skip a beat, and I know God put him in my life to make me smile. Our God is a loving and awesome God! Thanks all!

Re: Julie Andrews had it going on!
Today my parents came and helped us paint our nursery, my father-in-law picked up and delivered our crib for us. I am so amazingly grateful for all the love our families have for us and our soon-to-be son. And none of this would be possible with out the man who I truly believe is my soulmate - my DH of 6 years and the ONLY man I would want to father and parent my children.

Re: Julie Andrews had it going on!
And here I thought Steve was having impure thoughts about Mary Poppins! LOL! Shame on me!
I am grateful to have a job that keeps me busy, yet gives me a fairly flexible schedule. I had a rare Saturday off today and spent it relaxing, watching t.v. and on the computer. A total "me" day, which I think everyone needs at some point. I have a nice, warm place to live, enough food to eat and family and friends who care about me. Life is good. Thanks for the reminder!

My high school boyfriend was always talking about the "Julie Andrews Topless Movie." Although I can't remember what it's called, my initial thought was that Steve had just seen this movie. Sorry!

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?
[/ QUOTE ]
Haha! Evidently a topless Julie Andrews was really appealing to that adolescent. I’ve never seen the movie he was talking about, and I couldn’t remember the name of it so I did a Google search, and came up with yet another topless Julie Andrews movie because the image I found (a cabaret-like shot) was not the same scene that my old boyfriend was so fond of (a skinny dipping scene.) I must say, they weren’t bad but not something that you would expect from Mary Poppins (and the movie’s title was “S.O.B.”! )
