As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Good Morning!
Way to go Donna! 3 days in a row!! I've always wondered the same thing about the calorie counter on my treadmill. So how did you do car shopping?
Michele, I've been buying Louis Rich Fat-Free Deli Thins. It comes in a tri-pack of 3 meats. I think it tastes pretty good. 3 slices per serving and only 40 calories. I had another Chef Salad last night!
Michelle, I'd like to know that answer too about how much activity it takes to burn off a pound of fat. Hope someone knows!!
Beaner, that bellydancing DVD sounds interesting! DH would like that! I can just picture you with Donovan doing exercises and it kinda makes me wish I had a baby around here.......OMG! I can't believe I just wrote that! Bite my tongue!!! LOL Anyway, enjoy these years with your baby, before you know it he will be a 20 year old 6' guy, like mine!! He's still Mama's little boy though. For snacks around here I enjoy Quaker Fruit & Oatmeal bars (or bites), 3 grams of fat, 130 calories and 15 grams of sugar. Nutri-Grain Bars are good too. Also eat a lot of fat-free pretzels. Those Melba Snacks that I mentioned the other day are really good and at the store last night I bought a can of fat-free refried beans to have on top of them. You can put them in the microwave and they will stay crunchy. Also have fat-free cheese to melt on them. I will often just have a bowl of cereal, love shredded wheat. They didn't have any Mint Skinny Cows at the store and I wasn't crazy enough about the chocolate/vanilla ones to spend that kind of money on them so I went back to my fat-free, sugar-free fudge bars which are also great and actually better for you to eat. I usually only have one or two servings of a snack a day, one at work and maybe one for a dessert. I'm trying to eat more fruit instead of the packaged snacks, but sometimes you want something crunchy or chewy and fruit just doesn't cut it. Curious to find out what everyone else snacks on.
Have a great weekend everybody and stay warm!!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/18/03
Good morning!
Urrrch! My Pixie Wagon came to a screeching halt yesterday and I fell off hard! Lunch out at Boston Pizza probably used up all of my points for yesterday in just one meal. And I was too busy with car shopping and indoor soccer and work for exercise yesterday. Oh well, today's a new day and I get a fresh new start. I started a thread in the Sunroom about our car shopping. We've got lots of questions and choices and now we're really confused.
For snacks I usually go with mini pretzels. Also Quaker mini rice chips or whatever those are called. If you get carried away and eat the whole bag, it's only 5 points! And I've never felt the need to eat that many. I also snack on regular old potato chips, but I count them out to one serving (17 or 18 chips or 28 g) and that's 3 points. I find that's actually enough to satisfy my salty/fatty cravings. Mini chocolate bars are only 2 points if you're craving chocolate! I try not to deny myself anything, just eat really small portions if it's high fat or calorie laden. Um, unless it was yesterday!
Climbing back on the Pixie Chicks wagon now.

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/18/03
Hanging in there, no more weight lost. If this continues, I'll have to come up with a new strategy (like actually getting to the gym more than once a week! )
This will be a bad food day - it's DH's birthday - we went to a Chinese buffet today for lunch, and I only ate meat and veggies, but I'm sure the sauces had enough carbs for three weeks.
Then tonight is our company party - at a very nice restaurant. Will skip all bread/potatoes, but don't think I am going to be able to resist the the cheesecake!
Think I better not even think of getting on the scale tomorrow, and will head to the gym during the football games (nobody there then! )
Keep on going strong Chicks!

<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">Sandy- Which gym do you belong to? I was going to join over at CCAC but never found the time to get over there. I know.. it's sooo far from my house (I can see CCAC from my back yard )
I haven't been too good on exercising.. I've been thinking of taking some water aerobics at the YMCA.
On a much better note, even tho I haven't exercised in several days I think the diet is jump starting my metabolism & I lost another pound.. Yipee!!! . Based on my 10 pound a month weight loss goal, I've got another 13 days to lose 5 pounds.. not too bad huh? By my Disney trip I hope to have at least 20 pounds off!
keep up the good work everyone! this is such a great group for motivation!
