As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Good Morning Gals!!
Brrrrr! It's cold out. Not as cold as it's been for some of you, but the coldest I've seen it here so far....not quite 10 degrees! I don't want to go to work!! I want to stay in my house!! OK, enough of my whining!!
Just finished my breakfast which was 1 banana and am working on my first of four bottles of water. They amount to about 68oz of water total for the day. Have done 2 miles on the treadmill for the past two nights in 30 minutes. Last night when I got off the treadmill I walked around the house cooling down and drinking an entire bottle of water. Easy way to get a whole bottle of water down.
Michelle, I've been thinking about starting stomach crunches too. That's my problem area and needs more work.
Marie, I know what you mean about the 3 Musketeer bars! We have a snack thing at work with the full size ones in it, also the 3-pack(medium size) of the York Peppermint Patties! There's only 3 grams of fat total in the patties, so that's not too bad. I'll be glad when DS(20) eats the rest of the candy I stuck in his stocking! He's had a bag of M&M's on the dining room table opened for a couple weeks now. It's driving me crazy......and yes, I have snitched a few.....OK, alot!!!
Michele, 4 miles!! Awesome!! About how long does it take you. At the rate I've been going it would take me an hour, and I'm sure I can't keep up that pace that long. I don't have enough patience to spend that long on the treadmill. Good luck on your 5 miles today!! You go girl!!
Sandy, great coupon for those "Skinny Cows"! They are kinda expensive ($4.49 for 6), but worth it!! Thanks for the link to the No-Pudge Brownies! I'm gonna have to try them!!
Tikibird, 7 pounds is great and hope you make it to 8 today!! Last year when I was trying to loose all my weight I would get up early in the morning usually around 6 or 6:30 and workout on the treadmill, then jump in the shower and get ready for work. Once you get used to it, it's as natural as brushing your teeth in the morning. It keeps you disciplined and gives you a burst of energy for the day! Right now, I'm working out as soon as I get home from work, but it just doesn't keep me as motivated as when I did it in the morning. I just might be switching back!
Have a terrific day everybody!!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/15/03
Good morning! Cindy, sorry to hear that cold wave did come your way. We're still stuck in it and the long range forecast for the next week isn't an improvement. It's so hard to motivate myself to get out from under my pile of blankies and start moving
I'm impressed with your treadmill work, Cindy. I'm only doing about 1.25 miles in 30 minutes right now. (But I'm still nursing my back too so I don't want to overdo it yet). And I'm also wondering how long it takes Teddysmom to walk 4 and 5 miles!
But I am doing something right. I'm down 3 pounds total from New Years. Yippee! Slowly, but surely. The only thing I'm not doing slowly is making my potty trips -- gotta love all that water! Have a great day, Pixies!

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/15/03
I thought I would walk but can't seem to stop running. I think I've turned into Forrest Gump but since I'm on treadmill, I'm not gonna get to see America, alas.
It is sooooo cold here. DS gets the bus at 6:50 and we were 2 icicles waiting out there this morning. I did 5 miles and it took 1hr. I know that is too much time for most people but I care for my son who is disabled and my Mom who has emphysema so I'm not working right now and just need to be around for Dr appts. and bad days and such. So right now I have the time to put in.
I need to start crunches and hip and thigh work. Actually I have to stop talking about it and actually do it . Tried on all my vacation clothes yesterday(first day of the VISITOR no less) and was pleased with the fit though so that's ok. Only 16 more days so I doubt I'll experience any enourmous loss. I never weigh myself, only when I go to my DR's office. Just go by clothing fit. 64oz of Lemon water awaits me in the fridge so I'm off to start consuming.
So proud of all you chicks. We are gonna have such a healthy 2003. I am woman hear me roar(forgive me Helen Reddy I got a little carried away). Sometimes when I run on my treadmill I hear the Rocky theme too.(Flying high now, gonna try now) Not too influenced by pop culture huh? Have a great day all! Re: Pixie Chicks-1/15/03
Cold here today too! 22 Below when I woke up!! It's warmed up to a whole 1 degree now, so I am off to take Sarah skiing - I don't want to go!!! I am a wimp when it comes to the cold - I like snow, but this hurts! I did give in and eat those little bites - hasn't hurt me yet, but I haven't lost anymore either. Thank goodness Lent starts soon! I am still holding steady on the scale, but the clothes fit nicely, and that is a plus! I have been a good girl drinking my water, I think that is why I've been feeling so good - everyone else in town is taking turns with the many viruses afloat. I was called to sub today for the same teacher - I've had her class since last Friday! I didn't take it though, my little munchkin comes first. Off to freeze my behind off - that's one way to get rid of it!
Hope everyone stays warm and healthy - keep up the great work!

NOT a good day here. No further weight lost, cold, gray, snow, yeech!!!! Another day at work after which I wanted to just curl up into a fetal position; it was that exasperating. And I'm dying with NO CHOCOLATE as comfort food!
grrrr - hope you all are having a better day!

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/15/03
Good evening gals...
Missed you all yesterday.. had a break down (weight-wise ) on Sunday night... was craving stuffed jalopeno's ( 23 grams of fat for 5 YOW ) but the craving wouldn't go away so I did eat them ( & they were yummy but I gained 1 pound.. Wasn't too concerned because my IBS was acting up & that casues some weight gain..
Yesterday & today was much better.. ate right on the diet & lost the pound I gained.. It's so much easier this week being off the blast off week.. I can actually eat several portions of starch
My biggest downfall is getting that exercising in.. gotta get in the gameroom & start walking DAILY on that treadmill...
