As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Hello! Wow has it been a long time since I have written a TR. The main reason for that is we haven't been back to WDW in 3 years. My last TR was for our DL trip in early 2014. I am so ready to return to my happy place. I hope I can keep you all interested enough that you stick around.
Since it has been so long since my last TR, I will start with introductions.
Aimee (me!) age 37: I am the Disney planner in my family. My first trip to WDW was in 1997 during a senior trip to Florida. I didn't return to WDW until 2005 on my honeymoon. Since then I have been on many trips back to WDW.
Last year I decided to quit my job as a kindergarten enrichment teacher and return to life as a stay-at-home mom. Other than my every day duties as wife and mom, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking (mostly digital) and embroidery.
Justin (DH) age 35: Justin's first trip to WDW was in 2005 on our honeymoon. He has been back with me several times since then. He doesn't involve himself too much in the planning, but has his opinions when it comes to choosing ADRs.
He works for FedEx, but will be going back to school soon for a career change. In his spare time he loves to do woodworking, which is handy for me as I keep him busy with lots of projects around the house.
Justin had knee surgery for a torn meniscus at the beginning of August and was off his knee fully for 6 weeks. He actually just started walking without crutches last week. Even though he has made a full recovery, we may need to take things a bit slower on this trip so his knee does not become aggravated.
Here is a picture from our first trip together on our honeymoon.
The last member of our trio is our DD Lexi (age 9). Lexi's first trip to WDW was at the age of 4. She loves WDW and can't wait to go back. This will be her third trip to WDW.
Lexi is in the fourth grade. I cannot believe my little girl is old enough to be in 4th grade. She also takes dance lessons in tap, jazz and ballet. She is a super smart and sweet girl that makes friends easily and loves her family.
Another note about Lexi is that she absolutley loves Winnie the Pooh. She has a favorite blanket that she's had since she was a baby with Pooh on it and she still sleeps with it at night. I am so happy that as she gets older her love for the Silly Old Bear has not faded.
Lexi at her dance recital in June.
Normally my introductions would end here, but we have some guests joining us for this trip. I will introduce them in my next update!
Yay!! How great that you get to go to Disney after 3 years! I haven't been back since 2014 and won't be there till' 2017. I'm suffering from Disney withdrawals.
Yay!! How great that you get to go to Disney after 3 years! I haven't been back since 2014 and won't be there till' 2017. I'm suffering from Disney withdrawals.
I am having major withdrawals right now, we have been planning this trip for two years now!
In December 2006 I took my sister and her kids on their first trip to WDW. We left the husbands at home. I was pregnant with Lexi at the time, so it was technically her first trip, too. My sister has always been a Disney fan and this trip made her fall in love with Disney even more. She finally convinced her husband to go to the MK on a trip to Florida in 2009 and as they say, the rest is history. They now vacation at WDW every other year.
Justin, Lexi and I had a trip planned for 2014 and had to cancel because of Justin's work schedule. To cheer me up my sister suggested we plan a big family trip together for 2015. We had two other (non-Disney) vacations planned for 2015, so we decided to return to Disney together in February 2016 instead. Then some scheduling conflicts happened and our trip was pushed back to Fall of 2016. After all this planning and waiting, I cannot believe we are now less than 60 days away from our trip! We have been planning this for two years.
I guess I should introduce you all to my sister and her family!
Angie (DSis) age 35: Angie is my younger (and only) sister. We live about 40 minutes from each other and get together often. She is one of my best friends. Angie is a stay-at-home mom and also sells various crafty items she makes on Etsy.
Dan (DB-in-law) age 37: Dan works for the Federal Reserve Bank. He is a comic book and movie junkie and also loves video games. Dan and Justin have a lot in common and get along great, which makes it nice when we all hang out together!
Ashley (DNiece) age 15: Ashley is a Freshman in high school this year. She is growing up to be such a beautiful young lady. She is very involved at school taking honors classes, acting in her school play and she is also a member of various clubs. She plays guitar and has her black belt in Taekwondo. Lexi and Ashley are more like sisters than cousins.
Nathan (DNephew) age 11: Nathan is in the 5th grade and is a mini-me of his dad. He loves video games and collecting things. Nathan also has his black belt in Taekwondo.
Here is a picture from there 2013 Disney trip I believe. It is crazy how much their kids have grown since then.
There you have it, all of the characters joining us on our trip. I cannot wait to spend time with my family at WDW!
I suppose I should also fill you in on some details!
Dates: November 26 – December 3 Resort: Coronado Springs (our first time) 8 day park hopper passes with the dining plan
In the next update I will give more of a back story on how this trip has come together!
I love it when all the people vacationing together share the same love for Disney. I cannot travel with my extended family nor my husband's, because they are not Disney obsessed and really don't enjoy the parks as me and my little family does. They don't get it.
October 6, 2017-Enjoying an amazing dinner at Victoria & Albert's with PP's Dot and Drew
My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
