Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Amazing Race 4/29 *SPOILERS*

Passporter Amazing Race

1. Tyler & Korey - mushu22
2. Burnie & Ashley
3. Dana & Matt - HollyH
4. Sheri & Cole - DebiDebiDebi
5. Kurt & Brodie - LilMarcieMouse

Eliminated:
1. Marty & Hagan – cattailmarsh
2. Cameron & Darius
3. Jessica & Brittany
4. Erin & Joslyn – HiddenMickey
5. Scott & Blair
6. Zach & Rachel - cubfancolleen
7. Kurt & Brodie - LilMarcieMouse

Team head by boat to the Island Nusa Lembongan to Nusa Ceningan and have to dive for their clue. The clues are in cylinders and this throws Matt & Dana off, they think they missed something since the clue isn’t laminated.

Now they head to The Bali Hai Resort & Spa and have to find the Pura Puseh Stairway and the dancing monkey. This guy was fun to watch, I loved how he made them all climb higher up the stairs.

Haul: They have to go over a suspension bridge and get 4 chickens and 50 coconuts and deliver them to the guy back on the other side. This is at Ceningan Bridge.

All teams did this one.

The chickens were pretty friendly. Dana couldn’t catch two at a time, but I was wondering why Matt didn’t go in and hand her one then get coconuts, I think Kurt & Brodie were the smartest by getting all 4 chickens at once then tackling the coconuts. I would have used the bottom of my shirt to help hold the coconuts. Then they might not have dropped so many.

Harvest: They have to row out to a marked field and harvest seaweed, bring it back to shore and lay it out to dry. This at Warung Sunrise.

Kurt & Brodie

They handled it well. It was actually easier than the Haul challenge. They got enough right off the bat.

They now head to Warung Sunrise. Korey & Tylor are the first to finish.

Tylor & Korey U turn Kurt & Brodie. Then Ashly & Burnie show up and U Turn Korey & Tylor so Kurt & Brodie can’t U Turn anyone. I know we all hate the U Turns and I think Tylor, Korey, Bernie, and Ashly were wimps. I personal would like to see them drop the U Turns and just let it all play out.

Now they head to Pande Curly paddleboard shop.

They go to Blue Lagoon and one member has to climb a cliff and dive off.

Tylor, Ashly, Cole, Matt and Brodie

I give credit to Cloe for just doing it. I don’t know if I could have.

Now they head to Bajra Sandhi Monument were they will find Phil. All the teams gathered on the matt one right after another and the wimps left before Kurt and Brodie got there. I was hoping someone would have taxi trouble. I liked my team.

So get out your Chinese takeout order ready we are heading to China, With only 2 legs left teams will fight to go to the finally. Till then keep your chickens in a row and your coconuts bundled my Racing Peeps.

Finally got a chance to watch this week's episode - The entire time they carried those coconuts, I was yelling at them to use their shorts to carry the coconuts. The only thing I thought was maybe they were not permitted to, otherwise it was a dumb oversight by all the teams.

I'm sad the Brodie & Kurt were eliminated. Would have liked to have seen Dana & Matt get eliminated. I agree everyone was wimps to leave the mat just bc they didn't want to face them since they utilized the u-turn - it is a game and you have to play it the best you can. It was in the teams best interest to use the u-turn.

We thought from the start the seaweed harvesting sounded MUCH easier. And my DH thought the guys should've taken off their shirts, knotted them to close the neck hole, and then filled them with the coconuts. I did wonder if that was against the rules, and they just didn't tell the viewers?
Very good strategic move, u-turning Tyler & Korey, to ensure Kurt & Brodie had no u-turn to give.

I just feel the U turns are the wimps way out. Tyler & Korey have beaten Kurt & Brodie before and Brodie has to do the Roadblocks because Kurt did most of them alrady I really want to see how it played out.

I would have prefered Matt and Dana to be eliminated, but it was a good strategic move for the teams to u turn and eliminate Kurt and Brodie. They were a pretty strong team and big competition.

So proud of Cole at the cliff. Glad he just jumped without spending too much time thinking about it.

I also wondered about what was and wasn't allowed at the bridge as far as carrying the items. I'll bet that they weren't allowed to use their shirts etc. or someone would have done it. Kurt and Brodie were smart to do all 4 chickens first.

I think if any of them knew how to actually carry chickens would have helped. One person could have easily carried all 4 chickens by themselves and maybe even carried a couple coconuts at the same time. If both went in the chickens, having one hold and the other catch, caught a chicken turned it upside down and carried it by it's feet they just hang there. I can hold 3-4 chickens in one hand at a time and ours are large chickens, those appeared to be bantams which are very small and light. If you could get all 4 in one hand you could hold 2 coconuts in the other against your body.

Good episode.
We also talked about taking off t-shirts to use like a basket. It had to have been in the rules that they couldn't or someone would have tried it.
I am OK with Kurt and Brodie going...they won four trips.
I hope that Dana and Matt do not make it to the final three. The other teams would be fine with me.
I was also really proud and amazed at Cole jumping without standing there and psyching himself out. He and his Mom have definitely grown on me.
Still big fans of Burnie and Ashely and hate for them that they are constantly second. Hope that means that they'll finally get a first place at the very end.

I didn't think Kurt & Brodie would have won the Million. I do think Burnie & Ashly will.

I, too, would be okay with anyone winning except for Dana and Matt. I like all of the remaining teams, except for them.

I like all the teams except Dana and Matt. We love Tyler and Korey and hope they win, but any other team (except D & M) would be fine with us. We thought the double U Turn was really good strategy and was amazed that Burnie and Ashley had the same thoughts as Tyler and Korey. Worked out well!
