As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

What are the best QS places at DL & CA in your opinion. Trying to decide where we might want to eat. I know we will be snacking mostly, but just in case.
I love The Hungry Bear Restaurant located in Critter Country. The food is decent and the location is quiet and restful. I have heard good things about the Cozy Cone Motel and Flo's in Cars Land, but have not experienced them yet. Eager to try them out in September! Also love Pacific Wharf and River Belle Terrace.
CA we love the Pacific Wharf area as it is a "real" food court area with mexican (Coquina Cucomonga Mexican Grill), asian(Lucky Fortune Cookery), american(Pacific Wharf Cafe) and Ghiradellis Soda Fountain for dessert. The portions are nice sized, the food is great, there is ample shaded seating, some even by the water and restrooms are located here as well. Also the location is nice because you can go in and out of Cars Land behind Radiator Springs Racers or just cross the bridge to Paradise Pier.Oh and you can take the Boudin Bakery tour here before you eat and get a free sample of that awesome sourdough bread! If you like it you can order some at the Pacific Wharf Cafe or the bread cart out front. Sometimes we just grab a loaf of Mickey bread and make a snack out of it. Taste Pilots Grill runs a close second for us at CA. The ribs are wonderful!!
DL- we usually end up at CA or DtD but these are our go-to places at DL Red Wagon Corn Dogs-amazing Jolly Holiday Bakery. Really like everything we have had here. Lots of variety
I know you posted this June, but according to your countdown, you haven't taken your vacation yet...? So...
I agree with DebiDebiDebi about the Hungry Bear Restaurant. I love the location and it's a great burger and fry place. Also in that park I like Bengal BBQ and Red Rockett's Pizza Port.
On CA Adventure side, coasties mentioned the Pacific Wharf area. There's a bit of everything in this food court area. Of course, I was thrilled when Starbuck's opened. I was surprised at the snacking choices offered.

My 2 faves last trip: Splitting a mint choc chip sunday in the window of gibson girl on main street (gotta get lucky with the tables, not many avail.) and sitting on the step behind the chowder place over by the canoes at night. Nearly invisible, beautiful view of NOSquare across the water.
Well, this was a fun little rabbit hole to go down!
That's the Harbour Galley chowder place in blue on the left.
Here's a close-up of the Fowler's Inn building. I have no idea what is in there. OK, as I suspected, it's the kitchen area for the Galley. I knew this at the time, but in the pictures it is hard to believe.
See the step on the outside of the railing? That's where we sat. It's more of a perch than a seat, but it felt elt very casual and awesome. We felt like we found a secret little spot. The chowder was good and the bread was filling. I shared this with my son, and DH helped a little too. We were going for very cheap eats, just something hot to suppliment our daily diet of granola bars, cheesy peanut butter crackers and tangerines!

Okay...I got it now. (Thx for posting the pictures!) I was thinking of the little shack to the left in the top picture, but forgot about the rest the building (Fowler's Inn.) It is a neat little hideaway.
I felt the same at Hungry Bear's Restaurant. There's two levels of seating. So, sometimes the bottom level feels semi-private depending on how busy they are.

Ah! I will have to remember this for our next visit! I'm with you Joby, I love the Hungry Bear. We always sit next to the railing and wave at the folks on the riverboat, etc.
I have to second Pacific Warf because there are great options there but the remodel over is nice too and sometimes there is live music to enjoy while you eat. My kids go for Pizza at the Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta while us grownups get Kebabs from the Paradise Garden Grill. We had breakfast at the Cozy Cone and I have to say the scrambled egg cone while novel is kinda gross. Go for lunch if you go.
