Do you take a planned vacation every year??
If so, does that vacation include travel??

No, finances don't allow us to take one every year . We were lucky the last few years we could but this year there's no vacation for us - not even day trips anywhere right now.

We plan at least one big vacation a year and it usually involves travel. My limit in the car is about 10 hours, so if it takes longer than that we fly.

Yes. We travel every year -- we try to get to DH's parents' since they can't travel here. Though I question whether that's "vacation" when it's not really optional.

We also try to go somewhere else, whether it's just us or converting one of DH's business trips into a vacation. There's so much to be learned from travel that I hate not to go when and where we can.

And yes, they include travel. To me, it's not a vacation if I have to do laundry or use my own kitchen. Unless a hotel room is involved, it doesn't count.

I try to plan a vacation every year. And usually that vacation will include travel.

We take several trips every year. All involve some amount of travel. We love hiking and the great outdoors. We have a 5th Wheel which makes camping pretty comfortable. We try to visit Death Valley each spring for a week. We go to Mammoth Lakes and/or Yosemite once or twice a year for a week. We live fairly close to both the mountains and the beach, so we often take local weekend camping trips in those locations.

For the past few years we've taken a late Fall cross-country RV trip, staying at National Parks from California to Maine, Washington State to North Carolina.

Our son lives in New York City and has a great home in Connecticut so we vist him twice a year. We also do some weekend get-a-ways in San Diego and San Francisco. But for the most part we like to camp because we can take our dogs. I really hate to board them.

Every year at least one 'big' trip overseas (almost everywhere is overseas when you live on an island-lol). A disney park is always on my list but mostly every second year we go elsewhere.

We also take a 'relaxing' trip somewhere each January. Bali is very close (just 3hrs by air) so we go there often. When we lived on the other side of Australia we would go to Vanuatu, Noumea or Fiji.

Vacation time is the only time my DH actually takes a break. He does his best to 'forget' about work even though he checks in every day. Twice a year is not really enough down time but I'll take what I can get.

When the kids were home, we did two or more vacations a year. One was a big new adventure and the other might be a week at the beach or a short trip to Florida.

Since my kids have grown and spread their wings and I have a son 1800 miles away, my vacations are often to see him (last three were to Texas.) When my DD rode for her university, I would often take a vacation to where Nationals were seeing as they made it 3 of her 4 years. She also did a pre season camp in Florida so 3 of 4 years we were able to combine it with a trip to Disney.

We do something yearly, but sometimes it is just a weekend getaway or even a "staycation" where we take in local attractions. Our first big trip since having more than one chid was our 2009 WDW trip. We are hoping to be on the every two years WDW rotation with something smaller and close to home the other years.

We normally go on vacation once/twice a year.

We also go back "home" 2-3 times a year.

Yes, for the past few years we have traveled. Always flying, if airline prices don't change driving could become an option.
