As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). I'm back with another yummy recipe that is helping me to get back to my healthy weight. So far so good!
I've been back on WW now for three weeks and have lost 8 pounds!
I'm still walking 2 miles a day and eating mainly non-processed foods. LOTS of fruits and veggies and Greek yogurt. I found a site called the yummy life where I have been enjoying this cherry vanilla bean smoothie all week.
I don't add in the chia seeds, but with the fresh cherries we are getting from the Flathead region of MT and WA, it is seriously delicious. The recipe makes two cups for a total of 8 points. I split the recipe into two portions. I have one portion with a hard-boiled egg before I walk and then come back later in the day for the second as a snack.
I love oatmeal in any shape or size, so this was awesome to grind it into flour and incorporate it with fruit and protein. It really does keep me full for the morning. I also have the added bonus that the smoothie can be made the night before making it truly Grab and Go on busy school mornings.
The smoothie is pleasantly thickened, but totally drinkable. I bought apricots this week to try the apricot flavor. I love variety!
Be sure to check out her Refrigerator Oatmeal Jars as well. She has an applesauce and cinnamon recipe that tastes like cold apple pie.
I've been walking 6 days a week. I've never been more thankful for my treadmill. We are in triple digits here in MT.

Of those tried, I really enjoyed the apple cinnamon one because it was just like cold apple pie. I'm weird because I like apple pie cold rather than warm. The blueberry was number 2 for me. I consider both of those keeper recipes.
I tried the banana ones, but a word of warning. The tablespoon of cocoa is almost too intense for me. I'd knock it down to 1 teaspoon if I were making it again.
I'm really looking forward to hearing what you think of the mandarin orange one since that is definitely on my list to try!

I just made on of these for tomorrow morning Mandarin Orange Refrigerator Oatmeal
I did not have chia seeds and I used a peach greek yogurt (I ate the other half of it for a snack) I will tell you how it is tomorrow.

I am glad I found this post today, I am trying to get back on my WWers. Today I have tracked and I will get a walk in soon -or Just Dance
I have to ask, doesn't the oatmeal just sink to the bottom in the smoothies. I also need ideas for when school starts.
I took her recommendation and processed about 2 cups of oatmeal in the food processor. It becomes just like flour essentially (more powdery than a flake of oat.)
I've had the smoothie all week and never found it clumped at the bottom. : There's enough liquid in them that I give it a bit of a shake when pulling it out. She also gives directions that if you like smoothies extra smooth, to leave the smoothie in the blender for the four hour soak and then blend it again just before drinking.
I don't want to work that hard. I blended once and then gave it a shake. It was about the same consistency as the thickened yogurt drinks you can buy in the store. The difference for me was that it held my appetite even after having walked. Of course, I added a hard boiled egg on the side, but it's still a good choice for me.
I've found three or four good recipes that I can easily accomplish the night before a school day or are quick enough to do that morning, and I plan to add more to the list.

When I was on track I did alot of wraps. They were mostly a salad with a bit of meat or boiled egg (hummus) in a flour tortilla. I also made quesadillas using corn tortilla and cooked them on my George Fourman. I liked them with cheese and chicken breast and would top them with chopped lettuce and salsa after I warmed them up at school.
I did EA active today - don't think it is the right fit for me. My office/treadmill room will be cleaned out soon and I can get back to walking. I think I will try a Prevention workout and walking.

I looked a the website & what scares the Christmas out of me is the # of carbs! I'm really stupid when it comes to labels. I have been reading labels but honestly I can't find a happy medium as far as what is good & what isn't. I know high # for protein is good but I thought you would want a low # carbs wise?
I need nutrition labels for dummies to make sense of it all.

Honestly, I just shoot for a healthy balance of it all. I'm not a person who can say that I'm ruling a particular type of food out of my diet. : They all play a role in keeping us healthy. Unless specified by a doctor, I'm trying to include everything (just at a different proportion than I have before). That's one of the reasons WW is attractive to me as a weight loss program.
I love my pasta, cereal, and bread. In fact, I'd say that bread is probably a trigger food for me. I could walk by a cupcake, but I can't resist warm French bread from the bakery. (It's also one of the reasons I love the Boulangerie in the French pavilion in Epcot. )
