As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

This is my first trip report I am doing. I want to say I love everyone one here. I have planning this trip for over 3 years now and everyone on here has helped me with my plannings. From the silly question I have asked to the most important ones. Just want to say thanks to everyone who has given me advice.
Cast of Characters going
Me-Christie (38) I have always loved Disney. I lived in St. Pete, FL growing up and moved away when I was 14. The last time I been to WDW is when I was 16 and I only been to MK. I love all the Disney Characters but Goofy is my all time favorite. I am excited and nervious about this trip. I love the rides but the coasters I will leave to my family.
DH - Michael(will be 44 December 12) We will be celebrating his birthday while we are there. He is not that much of a Disney fan. He is a Looney Tunes fan. But he he does love Ketmit the Frog. So I think he will enjoy HS. Everytime I want to talk about Disney he stops me after an hour and says he doesn't want to here about Disney anymore today. I am hoping that when we get down there and he see the magic he will change his mind. He has never been to WDW other than DTD. Michael loves all rides but his favorite is rollercoasters. he said his goal is to ride them all while we are there.
DD-Amber (turning 18, December 28) About 4 years ago I ask her what she wanted to do for her 18th birthday. She said to go to WDW. So, here we are. She loves Belle for Beauty and the Beast, Stitch, and Tinkerbell. All she can talk about is riding the rollercoaster. So, of course she is going to be riding on them with Michael. This wil be her first trip to the parks. She has been to DTD.
DD- Michelle (4 on October 15) Yes we will celebrate her birthday has well while we are there even though it is 2 months late. This is her first time in the parks. She has been to DTD. Michelle loves all the Disney characters and when I am looking at others TR she see the pictures of the characters she says she want her picture with them too. She wants to dress up as Sleeping Beauty and get her picture taken with her. Michelle also wants to ride the coasters (daddy's girl), she only has to grow another inch to beable to ride all the ride but 3.
We are driving down from NC
Time we are staying December 27, 2011- January 3, 2012
Where we are staying FWCG with our pop-up. Which our pop up has a king bed slide out on each end. a slide out of the dinette. Also the kitchen/sink pops out as well. The girls are sharing the one king bed. We are hooping for loop 100 or 200. We have a preferred site which they said they don't know what site we are going to get.
We have the dining plan so we don't have to worry about the money for food and also a 5 day park pack.
Day one Dec 27 (leaving house around 2 am)
Get to the campground and set the pop-up up. After we finish we are headed to Trail to Go for our counter service meal. Then head to the other Resorts to se the decorations.
Day two Dec 28 ( My brother and his family are going to meet up here or at MK. Not sure yet?) morning EMH, Amber's Birthday
Get up eat breakfast in the camper. Then head to the Marina to ride the boat over to MK. Hopely we get up early enough to do some EMH. At 9 am the girls has an appointment with Barber Shop to get their hiar done. Michelle will be dressed up as Sleeping Beauty and Amber will have a yellow evening gown on to look like Belle. While the girls are getting their hair done Daddy will go to the Princess meet and greet to get fass passes for after lunch. (My brother and his family will go get the other fast passes for the rides. After they get their hair done we are going to take our time to look around the Main Street. At 11:50 we have a lunch ressie at CRT. All depends what time it is when we get done. I know we are going to see the dream parade at 3:30. head to the fast passes we have and for the rides Michelle can not ride. me and her will see if there is characters around that we can wait in line and get autographes or head to a ride that she would like to ride. I know she is going to want to ride it more than once. We really don't have much planned other then just take our time and enjoy our time. For dinner we will go to a Counter Service. All depends where we are at the park when we get hungry to where we go. Of course at 7:30-8 I will get out spot for Elecrtrical Parade. I will let the rest of the family get at least 1 more ride in and come back to me. We will keep our spot to see the Wishes. So I am hoping to get a spot on main street near the castle. The park close at 11 pm so we will be headed back to our site on the boat. We will also look around at the other campers and their decorations.
Day three Dec 29
We are spending the day at the campground. We down have anything planned except dinner ressies. We are just going to enjoy our time exploring the grounds. I know Amber want to do the horse back riding. Our ressies are at HDDMR 4 pm then at 7 pm we will do the Chip and Dale campfire program. Then head over to the beach to watch the Electrical Water Pageant at 9:45. After that we will go back to our camper and rest for the next day.
Day four Dec 30 no EMH
Eat breakfast at camper. Head over to Epcot (WS) going to get there before it opens and spend some time in FW. Get the Kim Impossible game. We will eat lunch at a counter service. When starting WS we will start on the left and take our time looking at each country. 6:30 we have ressie at Biegarten Germany. 9:30 we will be at our spot to see the Illuminations.
Day five Dec 31 (New Years Eve) morning EMH
Hoping to get an early start. Eat breakfast and head to AK. We choose this park so we can be back at our camper and watch the fireworks from the beach. When we get there Amber will head to get the FP for the rides she wants to ride. Then she will come back with us and just take our time to enjoy the park. We are just going to use a counter service for a late lunch. The park closes at 7 so we will head back to our camper to fix our New Years platters and just enjoy the grounds.
Day 6 Jan 1 no EMH
eat breakfast at camper then had to HS. Nothing really planned other than Sci Fi Drive-in at 4:30, Pixar Pals parade 3:00, and Fantasmic 6:30. As you can see we are a family who just takes our time and just let thing flow as they go. Of course we will get FP for the rides or even shows if they have them. This park close at 7 so we will be-able to go back to the camper and enjoy the grounds alittle more.
Day 7 Jan 2 morning&evening EMH
Eat breakfast at camper then had back to Epcot FW. Get FP then just take our time around the park. Only thing we have planned is Coral Reef 5:40 pm. All depends how long it takes us on the FW we might do some on the WS but start on the right this time.
Day 8 Jan 3
this is the day we leave. Eat breakfast then break things down. Eat lunch off property. Then head home. We will not be driving straight through. We will be stopping in SC. Then get up the next day and finish going home.
I love your trip! We raised our kids camping every summer at Ft. Wilderness and always packed a lot in too :-)
We always go camping. We love camping so this trip will be dream come true for me. I love Disney and camping. I get to do both.
Now packing alot in on the trip is what we a known for but we only pick one place to go each day because we love to take our time and see things other pass by because they are rushing.
I hope that you and your family have a magical time at the world

I think your older DD is considered an adult and I know if my DD were questioned about her attire when entering the park, she would be mortified.
Keep on planning. It sounds like you have the start of a great vacation.
Thanks for the heads up about the costumes. Amber will be bummed at first but I know she will be happy that we are still going to WDW. The planning nevers ends even when you are at WDW
I am seeing peoples reports on Akershus Royal Banquet Hall and wondering if I should change the princess character meal to there instead of the Cinderella's Royal Table? Michelle really wants to see Sleeping Beauty while she eats. What would you all so? We already have the ressie for the CRT.
Thanks now I am working on a list of stuff we need to pack for our trip so in hopes we won't forget anything. I am excited and getting alittle nervious about our trip. Yes I am a bit of a worry wart
I know it has been a long time since I posted anything on here. I have been so busy with our DD4 birthday party and getting other thing done. Well I am back doing more planning. I am now making schedules for each day on there own sheets. The first day was easy since we are just resort hopping to see the christmas decoration. Since we are staying at the campground we are not worried about seeing the decoration the first night. We have other evening and a whole day planned for the campground. So here is what I have typed up to print out when it get closer. Of course somethings might change is why I am not printing it out yet. Plus the times I put on there is just for an idea; we know it will take a bit longer at times.

Of course this is an idea what we plan on doing. Once we get to the park we most likely will change things except the ressies we have. If we don't get to Frontierland or Adventureland that will give a a reason to go back. I have list of things to look for throughout the park and we are going to take out time and enjoy ourselves. We know we want to Do the Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Liberty Square. Plus we will be checking out Mian Street and the Castle. Here is what written down so far.
