As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

A friend of mine is cruising with 6 kids and her husband. They have an one bedroom suite and a deluxe family stateroom. She wants the 6 kids to have the suite. The ages are 17,16,15,13,9and 9. She wants privacy for her and the husband. Since the suite only sleeps 5, can they bring an air mattress for one of the children? With the suite being 614sqft, I would think it would be enough room and they are paying for each of the kids. Does the sleeping arrangements matter?

I don't think there's enough room to set up an air matress, not to mention I think it might be viewed as a safety hazard since the room is only rated for 5 people. However, I don't see it listed on the DCL "prohibited items" list. It's not like someone is going to come by each night and make sure everyone is in their proper room. And since the 19 yr old is "technically" and adult, they would be supervised.

I doubt it is prohibited but my only concern would me the room keys. If only 5 can be registered to the room that means someone else has to be registered in the other room. They all wouldn't have keys that opened that door. As long as it isn't a safety hazard and there actually would be enough room for it, I don't think that would be a problem.
I doubt there is room for an air matress. The staterooms are very compact. When they say how many a room will sleep they mean it. The have pull out beds that cover that amount of people . We were a party of 5 in a cat 4 stateroom with a verandah on the Wonder and it was close quarters. There is not much floor space.
They don't do bed checks so it should it be fine.... They can provide extra extra keys so no worries in that department... No, there will not be a lot of extra room for the bed- but I don't see why it would be a problem since you can just lean it against the wall during the day..... Sounds like a reasonable plan to me!
Officially, it's not allowed. Room occupancy limits are what they are for reasons of safety. Your stateroom host/hostess may look the other way, but if security has to visit for some reason, your friends will have to modify sleeping arrangements - ship's security is quite strict. They don't normally do bed checks, but if they have a reason to do it, they just knock on their door every evening thereafter. If security becomes involved, your friends may not be allowed to sleep in the same bed, since officially one adult must be in each stateroom. They would get exactly the opposite of the privacy they desire.
Quite honestly, I think your friends would be better off if they took the bedroom in the suite (which comes with the master bath), and put five of the kids in the Family Stateroom. If there's one particular troublemaker among the kids, he/she could then be isolated on the bed in the suite's living room. If they're on the Magic/Wonder, the queen bed in the Family Stateroom can be split, so there would be five single beds in just that one room (the queen in the master bedroom can't be split, and the queen in the Family Stateroom on the Dream/Fantasy can't be split).
