As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Just wondering if I am alone going through this right now???? Yesterday, I got a period on day #18 for one day (more than just spotting). I just had my internal about 23 days ago and waiting on the pap results. But dr didn't feel anything. Anyways, so I am cranky, got the munchies, and my period is changing. I am only 45 yrs old-geeze. I was thinking age 50 before perimenopause hit, so I am thrown for a loop.
Am I the only one???? I hate these feelings. I feel as though my body has a different agenda than I do. Blah!

It's hard for me to say for sure because i've had a hysterectomy, but i'm 41 and going through hot flashes, mood changes, weight changes and heart palpitations. My doctor recently started me on a low dose estrogen patch to treat my symptoms...peri-menopause can start at 35 and last for 10 years or more, sometimes it sucks being a woman! I hope you feel better soon
I've been experiencing it for the past 3 years. Went 2 years without a period and had one in Jan and one in Apr. and none since. Had some tests done, and yeah, it's just my weird body. And my metabolism has slowed to a crawl, I get hot flashes only at night, and I can't sleep. And I'm only 47. So I know where you're coming from
I had tubes tied at 34 with 3rd child. MISTAKE!! It triggered perimenopause for me! My Dr put me on birth control pills, which gave me a bit of sanity. She said I can stay on the until early 50's (barring no other complications) and then would discuss how to transition back...good luck to you...
Been there for a few years.....I'm 48. I feel like I'm always having a hot flash. I think my last period was 2 months ago. Yeah that sounds right. And my face is breaking out a lot lately. What's that about!!! So I am comiserrating right there with you.
THankyou for being soo honest!!!!! This is a pain. I just had my dd just 1 1/2 mths after I turned 41 (been trying for a looong time and I lost a baby at 18 1/2 wks so that is why she was soo late..Oh, and she was natural no IVF), so it has only been about 3 yrs since I stopped bfing etc. I was hoping that alone would put off my perimenopause stuff but I guess it didn't
I bled yesterday, after doing a 15 km intense bike ride the day before. Now, I have no bleeding, so I have no clue what that is all about. I get hot flashes before my "normal" period. And grumpy...wow.....yeah, I am very very moody lately but then it could be the 4 yr old pushing some of the buttons too.
I am a strange one. I do like having a "normal" period. I like the predictability of it. Now, I feel old I don't want to feel old or look old. I just feel that this is toooo early. I am sooo that it is happening, if that makes any sense.
Oh, my sister is 51 and is on the pill because it was either that or a hysterectomy due to alot of bleeding. If the pill will stop the mood swings, maybe I should go on it.
How do you go to Florida with hotfashes???? When do the hotflashes stop???
Thankyou sooo much and big big hugs to everyone!!!
I had mood swings plus many other perimenopause symptoms. The pill DEFINITELY helped the mood swings. I never felt quite the same as before, but not crazy, either.
It even helped me lose weight (I had found it increasingly difficult to make the scale budge, and I was told that is another thing that changes in menopause). Although the pill was certainly not a magic weight loss pill, a year after starting it, I had lost 20 pounds.
Hate to tell you this, but it can start much earlier than most of the studies say . . . I was experiencing odd symptoms middle of last year . . . my regular Dr., granted not my gyn, said it sounded like I was starting perimeno . . . I'm 30. Granted, I've got some other issues, but I don't know that there is a real time frame for this anymore!
Wow! I thought my period days were tough, but this might top it
I spotted on Tues, Wed I was good so went for a bike ride, now Thurs I am spotting again I am wondering if it isn't my cervix that is bleeding. I've had issues with it in the past and I guess it can become frayed as we get "older". If this doesn't correct itself within the next few wks, I will go to the dr and get a referal to have it cleaned up.
I am kinda wondering about BCP. I have mixed feelings. I haven't been on them in over 20 yrs. But I don't want to blow my trip in April either with these mood swings etc.
I almost bought a book on perimenopause, but then didn't because I didn't think I needed it and then this happened.
I have such mixed feelings. Feeling hormonal. Atleast you don't have to be over 45 to get this, so I can't think that I am "old" and going through it, thankgoodness.

My OB said that she LOVES giving BCPs to women in late 30's-40's...it is amazing how much better they feel. She shared that she knows personally how much they help! I got my tubes tied to avoid the pill, and then I needed them to feel sane. I do wonder if I would have felt "normal" longer if I had not gotten my tubes tied. I advise friends against that decision--I think it was the trigger for me.
