The We are finally a fully potty trained family trip!! - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

The cast is actually up in the air at this time. DD is considering staying with grandma for this trip. She would miss school and we are planning a major WDW trip for May 2011 for our 10th anniversary and will likely get the platinum package, so she is thinking that missing school twice is a lot as well as I think she is missing the old days of being an only child. A child who doesn't want to go to WDW

Our last trip to WDW was January 2010 and we stayed CL at GF. It was for my birthday and an excellent trip. As many of you may remember, January was not a very good weather experience for WDW, but we had super weather. Very lucky indeed.
This will be our first time at POFQ, MNSSHP, F&WF, and traveling to WDW in the fall months. I hope that we are going to have great weather and low crowds, at least for the most part.
A little background on the title - DS is a preemie and was transferred to the NICU an hour away within hours of birth. He has had some issues, although thankfully nothing major. He tends to lag behind his peers in most areas and then plays catch up. He was doing well with PT and then he had surgery: 2nd set of ear tubes and his tonsils and adenoids removed on April 27, 2010. Well, regress we did - no sleeping through the night for more than a month, back in diapers full time and still not sleeping in his own bed. We have been working on potty training and he has finally succeeded!! He uses the potty, even at night and does not wear pull-ups or diapers at all. His attachment to diapers reminds me of his reluctance to give up his bottle. He was about 2.5 before he was ready to let that go and it took a $15 sippy cup from the Gap to get the job done .
We are planning to visit many things that we have missed in past trips - Tom Sawyer Island, etc. We also have been to only Crystal Palace and the Barbershop before so nearly all of our dining and extra activities are new to us as well. Perhaps it should have been called the Almost new trip to WDW.

Okay so the little girl that says she wants to stay with grandma while we go to WDW just came home from a sleepover - across the street. She said she missed me??? Usually she is fine - wonder how she is going to be away from me for a week?

I so wish I could get my DS potty trained. I figure that he won't go off to college in pullups so there is an end in sight, but I was hoping for a pullup free trip in August as well.

I would like to have the potty training over! DD wants nothing to do with the potty and runs screaming from the room whenever the word is mentioned today. I am really jealous and I'm hoping she'll be potty trained for our trip next August. I have a sinking feeling it might take just that long!
Well, Lexxie has decided that she will go to WDW with us and is getting excited and into the planning. We are a sick, sick family - we watch Disney shows all the time - not movies, but the planning DVD as well as those we can find on youtube and the six DVD set we bought about WDW, DCL, etc. We just cannot wait to be there!
Nicky is doing well on the PT and I think we just might go to WDW for the first time in our history, without diapers! I thought about it the other night and realized, I have never been to WDW without a 'baby' and got excited. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change a thing, in fact if I did, it would be to have gone sooner.
I still cannot get Le Cellier but you can bet I will be booking at exactly 180 days out for our May 2011 trip. We will have just returned from WDW so I doubt it will be a problem. 11/11/2010 is my 180 day mark for that trip.
