As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Okay in 101 I got some general feedback on the rides, but I need more specific information. So, here are my questions (and I'm asking for those who didn't)--
1. Physical intensity--what rides are "soft" rides, what rides are a "little rough" and what rides will I get off wondering if I left my "back" back in the seat?
2. Mental/emotional intensity--what rides make you laugh, what rides make you scream and what rides give you nightmares?
3. What rides are you comfortable doing "singles" line and what rides do you definitely want a partner?
Reasons: I got a DD who can be squeemish about rides just from the hype, and I got DDD (degenerative disk disease or arthritis depending on the doc I see) so I can tolerate some and can't others. Example--Space Mountain CA I can do. Space Mountian FL tortured me (I'd say killed, but I'm still here ) No problems with BTMR (I can brace the curves with feet & legs) EE, TOT, even Splash. Dinosaurs--(love it but it doesn't love me anymore). So if I'm in doubt I send DH on it solo-he knows the rules! So one more question--
4. What rides does DH do FIRST to check it out?

I've never had back problems, so I don't really want to say that any rides would definitely be ok, then have them end up hurting your back , but I will say you might want to skip the Hulk rollercoaster. As I said, I don't even have back problems and this roller coaster about killed me. It felt to me like it was in such a tight space, that the fast curves and stuff just jerked me all over the place. I had such a headache after riding it the first time, I wouldn't go on again. (and I normally LOVE rollercoasters!) I would say if you really really want to try it, definitely let your DH go first and see what he thinks.
I don't remember any of the other rides being particularly bumpy/jerky, but like I said, I am not someone with back problems so I don't want to give too much advice about that.
My two favorite rides are Spiderman and The Cat in the Hat. Those are both very smooth and lots of fun!!

The Jimmy Neutron ride was very jerky. I think there are stationary seats in the front of the theater, though.
Shrek 4-D was rougher than I expected (I was thinking an enhanced theater presentation like It's Tough to be a Bug, but this had more movement).
I don't remember the Simpsons as being particularly jerky, but I may just have been de-sensitized by the time we rode it. That one you may want to have your husband check out for you. I don't know if it's possible to wait together in line, then send him on while you wait so you don't both have to go through the line separately, but it would be great if you could.
Men in Black has a few sharp turns and spins, so again, you may want to have your husband scout it first.
Those were the only rides we did. None was overly scary, so I don't think any of those would bother your daughter.
Simpsons never hit our TV viewing list, so chances are DH will not want to ride through it. I'll let DH ride the Hulk first and give me a run down, though Ashli, your description is enough for me to pass on that one. I'm hoping that DH doesn't end up riding a bunch of these alone because DD and DS won't go with him.
US: Men in Black isn't jerky, it spins a few times. Shrek is fairly tame, and they do have stationary seats available. I haven't done the Simpsons, but before it was the Simpsons it was Back to the Future and that was the jerkiest ride I have ever been on! The Mummy is intense but not jerky, just fast! I'd rate it near EE. I haven't done the new Rip Ride Rockit Coaster, so can't help there.
IOA: I don't remember the Hulk being all that jerky, but it's intense and I do think there are warning signs for those with back problems. Spiderman may do a little spinning/jerking but I don't think it is as intense as Dinosaur. Dudley Do Right is similar to Splash Mtn. Popeye similar to Kali River Rapids. Jurassic Park is a slow moving boat ride until the end when you slowly go up a steep hil and then waaaayyyy down fast! You can see the drop - it's outside the attraction. Dueling Dragons is in my opinion the most intense ride in the park. Great coasters - very fast. This is the only coaster that gets to me as to queasiness. Worth it though - I just get a coke afterwards!

I'll have to depend on WWOHP to keep her interest. (DD's 25 and TOTALLY Disney!) She was disappointed we weren't going to DLR for our birthday! I've got some work to do!

I'm with your daughter! I thought the ride was much better as BTTF. The Simpsons one is still ok though. (I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more had we not had to wait in line forever even though we had Express Pass....there was some whole craziness with people arguing with the CM about their group getting split up for the ride and they just stood there and delayed everything for a really long time. Eventually a manager had to be called over. It was ridiculous.)
