As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

IOA has Seus Landing, a play are based on the Dr Seus books. My 2 teenage girls loved it, so I believe that a 6 year old would like it. Also, the Harry Potter experience may be open by the time that you go.
There are pros for each side......I think they have a two park , one day pass.....you would have to check the site to be sure. You could go to one park in the morning and the other park in the afternoon. Both parks are fairly small. Depends on what kinds of things your son likes. My son loved Men in Black and that was on the Universal side.
Each side has it own kid place, in IOA they have Dr. Deuss Landing plus Spider-Man, Flying Unicorn (kids rollercoaster) and at Universal they have Curious George Play Area, they also have the Jimmy Neutron Ride, Barney, Men in Black, ET and The Simpsons ride. I think there's more things at Universal for the the whole family to enjoy, IOA is for more the thrill seekers.

Flying Unicorn has been closed for a while now in order to prepare for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I loved that coaster, actually! LOL I highly recommend Seuss Landing at IOA and Woody Woodpecker's KidZone at USF. Those are 2 areas that your kids are sure to enjoy.
There would probably be more to do at US, although there are some things at IOA as well. But he could probably do most everything at US. The things that come to my mind that he would probably like at Jimmy Neutron, Shrek 3D movie, Jaws, Men in Black, The Simpsons, ET, Woody Woodpecker Coaster, Animal Actors on Location live show, and Disaster. If he's adventurous you could add Terminator 3D, the Horror Make Up Show, and the Mummy coaster if he's tall enough. There is a sticky thread at the top of this forum that has the height requirements for attractions at both parks which might be helpful too.
I agree that he will have more to enjoy at US than IOA- though Seuss Landing and Cartoon Lagoon are really cute, Jurassic Park and Marvel Comics Island may be too intense for him. The Lost Continent right now is basically only Dueling Dragons as the rest is being remade to make for Harry Potter awesomeness. There is a 1 day, 2 park ticket, and if you want to see both parks in one day without wearing him out I would recommend the Express Plus pass if you can- its basically like Fast Pass to every ride, and you can move through the parks very quickly as you won't be waiting in line at practically every attraction. Definitely check out Woody Woodpeckers in US and Jimmy Neutron!! Hope this helps and have fun!
we are doing universal studios in dec becasue their is more family type rides. ioa is more of an adult park more coasters then family rides.

I agree, because Suess Landing is just a visual feast - looks like the books came to life! And I've always wanted to do the Pteradon Flyers, but it's reserved for the smaller ones, and we've never had any with us.
WOW also let me add to make it harder i remember on fridays i think they do a live slime time show from unerversal too . they have the whole kids area on the unerversal side . then on the ioa side i know about seuss landing dd loved it and had alot of fun.
