As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

The say it ain't so cold Trip Report!
Just a quick reminder of who, what, when and how
Rob (DH), Daphne (Dsis), Taylor (Dniece 17), Cora Blue (DD 10), Franklin (DS 8 months), and me (Amanda) I have been planning this trip since March. I really thought I had all the details worked out but as you will read you are never as prepared as you want! Our trip begins on January 16th and ended on January 25th.
Day One the arrival;
We arrived at Pop Century a bit latter than expected. Everyone was so nice and very helpful. My sister and Niece had arrived and met us in the lobby. I had baskets prepared by Memories by Betsy for all who had arrived.
My DH had a upcoming birthday so we needed to make sure he had a birthday button to wear the entire time. We were assigned our rooms and what a great location! We got the 60’s building due to my Dsisters knee replacements (note to self bring TT on every vacation). We had dinner and went back to the room to the beautiful baskets from Betsy. If I figure out how to attach thumbnails I will attach pictures to this thread. More to come as time allows……

Day Two- Magic Kingdom
We arrived at MK around 9:30am. I wanted to get to the park a bit before opening to catch the opening merriment however I learned that nothing was going to go too quickly. When traveling with a group and an 8 month old made for many delays. This day was primarily spent figuring out a routine with DS and how to best manage rides and time. The first thing we did was marvel at Main St. USA. What a wonderful sight. My Dsis and Dniece hadn’t visited WDW for a very long time. 10 years for Dniece and somewhere around 20 years for Dsis. My DD was able to meet Cruella DeVille just by chance. She loves to meet the characters but patience is not on her nature. She hates to wait in line so when she was able to meet Cruella and be first in line it was magical. We wondered around for a while just taking in all the scenery and then headed for a FP for BTMRR. My DS had fallen asleep so we decided to let him sleep while everyone but DH went on Pirates of the Caribbean. By the time we were done DS had woken up and it was time for BTMRR. What a ride!!!! The last time we visited (Dec. 2007) I was 5 months pregnant and unable to ride many of my favorite rides. I had forgotten just how much fun Thunder Mt was. At this point everyone was getting pretty hungry so off to Cosmic Rays we went. When we arrived it was about 11:30 and not bus at all. We got a table ordered our food and ate. MY DH and I got the Veggie Burgers and quickly found out they changed. I was not a huge fan of the new patties but happily covered it with mushrooms, onions lettuce and just about everything they had. The best part was they added hot cheese sauce to the fixins bar so I got to have cheese fries YAY! My DD was very disappointed as Cosmic Ray was on vacation so no songs to serenade us as we ate. After lunch we headed to Haunted Mansion and then to the Country Bear Jamboree. I love this attraction but have to admit it really could use an update. The girls wanted to go on Space Mt so we went to future world for a FP. The FP wasn’t good until 7:30 and the girls wanted to get there face painted so we went to Mickey’s Toon Town Fair for fancy faces. This was the last day Philharmagic was going to be open so we headed for fantasyland to get in line. We got right in. My Dsis and Dniece just loved it. I had to have a talk with my DD and let her know how uncool it would be to tell our newbie’s about the attractions surprises. She was true to this and so Dsis and Dniece were able to experience all the thrills fully. At this point it was dinner time. We went to check in at Crystal Palace. This was our first time at this restaurant so we didn’t know what to expect. I try not to expect too much from character dinners so this way I am not disappointed. Just before dinner I headed over to the baby care center for some baby food. This was a BIG disappointment. I figured the choice would be limited however I didn’t expect it to be so limited. I was hoping for some vegetables and all they had was chicken and veggies, Turkey and rice or beef and veggies. Did I mention that DS doesn’t like meat, and he isn’t allowed red meat yet? No big deal I brought a small grinder to grind up some macaroni or something. I didn’t think of what several days of mac and cheese would do to my poor sons system (this will be in day 5 I bet you can’t wait!) Dinner was good. They had great salads and many things I wasn’t able to eat when I was pregnant so I will get it out in the open now I completely over indulged in just about everything on every day! The character interaction was excellent. They were all so wonderful with DS and DD. I was hoping to do Spectromagic and Wishes after dinner but DS had other ideas. The girls and DH still had their FP for Space Mt. so I decided to go back to the hotel and get DS ready for bed. We made it back just fine, gave a bath and a bottle and off to bed for the little man. DH and company made it back about 2 hours later and we all got some shut eye.
