As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

What do you think of this resort? We are considering it for our trip in May 2010. We have only stayed at a value. So I would like to know what you think. Where exactly is the resort? What are the prefered rooms? I have been reading reviews on the resort, most of them not so good. But I want to know what my passporter family thinks. Any insite would be great.

We stayed at CBR in 2005 and really liked it. It's in the Epcot area so it's nice and centrally located. We did pay extra for the prefered location which is a building close to the main pool and food court and found that to be the best money we'd spent! CBR is very big and widely spread out. We did not use the bus transportation as we rented a car but i hear that the transportation service can be slow.
It's a nice resort and we really like the changes that we've seen in the pool area and the new pirate themed rooms.
We had a great room at CBR in the Aruba section right across the bridge from PR. Yes we has a little walk for breakfast and coffee in the morning but it wasn't bad. Our room was clean and well appointed, plenty of room for the two of us. We also liked having the mini fridge for our leftovers.
We have stayed at CBR many many times, it is a beautiful resort, I love walking around the lake and coming over the bridge. There are many bus stops which is one of the down side of the place but it is really no big deal if you dont mind riding around the place in the bus. The food court is really nice and they have a restaurant as well. The pool is really nice and it has even been updated since we have stayed there. We usually stay at Pop now because it allows us to go more than once a year staying there. Price from CBR and Pop are a big difference. View wise I have stayed in the area looking into the center area and parking lot view, lake view. To me it really is no big deal which view it was it was all nice. I do get confused when walking around since I have no sence of direction to begin with so I dont think I even went and then came back the same way.

We love CBR! We stayed in Aruba #54 and it was a short and beautiful walk over the bridge to OPR. Be sure to stop on the bridge and watch the fish and turtles - some of the turtles are HUGE! They have an internal bus that will take you from village to village or over to OPR if you don't want to walk. The quiet pools in each village are nice but now the main pool has been renovated and looks very nice, too. The food court is nice and there is also Shutters for a TS place. The rooms at CBR are the largest of all the moderate resorts.
We have stayed at CBR twice, the most recent Oct of '08. We always stay in preferred ( my wife's bad knee ) which is Martinique and Trinidad South. I liked TS better, but the rest of my family liked Martinique better. There are no elevators, so if steps are an issue make sure to request first floor. The resort is huge, and each "island" has it's own bus stop plus an internal shuttle. We only had a full bus one moring, EMH for MK, and didn't wait more than 20 mins for a bus the whole trip. The resort is next door to Bonnet Creek resort, and so close to Epcot that we watched the fireworks from Illuminations ever night that we were at the resort. This resort has become our home away from home.
We stayed at CBR in December and had rooms in Martinique and we loved it. We were close to the bus stop, food court and pool. We were able to view the Epcot fireworks from our balcony or the beach. It was great.
Great to hear positive reviews. We're staying at CBR in April for the first time. We've stayed at Pop & POFQ and had a great time at both resorts. Tried to get POFQ but no rooms were available for this trip. It'll be fun to try something new.

Sometimes Jamaica bus stop is the first to be picked up in the morning, & can be the first to be droped off at night too. Depending on which entrance the bus driver picks. It was a short & beautiful walk to the bridge over to the food court, main pool & shops. We found the bus service very good & the resort beautiful. Don't believe all you read in those reviews. I read them before our stay & made me a bit wary. Fortunatley I found them un-true. You must try the hammocks on the beach, heaven!
We just stayed at CBR this past Dec and we loved it!!! We'd stayed there before, but this trip we really enjoyed the newly redecorated rooms, and the new rehabed pool and children's pool (even though it was way too cold to swim IMO).
I also really like CBR's food court and the resort's theme.
We stayed at CBR and reaaly liked it, except for the internal walking. Excellent food court. The preferred rooms are closest to the main pool and food court

We've stayed there once and loved it. It's close to Epcot. We were in Barbados, I believe and it was a good walk to OPR but it was beautiful and worth it. By a walk I mean about 5 minutes - nothing bad. We used to take the bus from OPR in the morning after breakfast but get dropped off at night right by our room. Multiple bus stops don't bother us because we have them no matter where we stay.
I just returned from a week at CBR. I stayed in a preferred room which is totally worth the extra $$. I was in Martinique building 26. It's right near Old Port Royale (food courts), a bus stop, and the beach. It is very near Epcot and you can hear Illuminations every night in your room. The rooms were very nice, they've just been redone in a "Finding Nemo" motif and they are quite large with a good amount of storage. My room also had a fridge in it which came in handy for leftovers. The resort is large and the bus visits every "island" before it leaves for the parks, but that doesn't usually take very long. The pool was just refurbished as well and looks great. I would recommend this resort, only if you want to stay in a preferred room and then I'd suggest you ask for Martinique with building 26 as your first choice.
We love CBR! This past summer we stayed in Aruba #56, we were on the back-end so it was very quiet and we could see Illuminations from the outside walkways. We loved the walk in the mornings across the bridge and island to OPR. The rooms were wonderful and the staff great! I highly recommend! Get a surrey bike and ride around the lake! Beautiful! Last time we were there we saw a baby alligator in the lake along with all the turtles.
