As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

My dh and I are going to wdw in October and this will be the first time in 7 years that just he and I have gone by ourselfs. I am the fanatic in the family and he would just assume go somewhere else but he goes when I really want hime to so when I asked to go for our anniversary he aggreed. I am trying to think of something nice to do for him. They only thing is he has anxiety and doesn't like attention on him so I don't know what we could do that isn't going to cost alot of money. Any ideas because I just use to planning princess stuff b/c of dd. Thanks in advance.

a tour would be good or would he enjoy dining with an imagineer? does he like to fish? a resturant he would really love? what are his favorite things to do?
He doens't like to fish at all. We have looked at all the resturants and the menu's and he just didn't see any where he really wanted to do. We loved Italy but they changed their menu and he really did like it. We tossed around some ideas of tours and he decided he didn't want to do one. He says I schedule too much when we go but I would like to do something nice even if it's just something small.
What about the fireworks cruise? My dh would LOVE that. We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour on our honeymoon and loved it! dh is an engineer and going backstage was really cool for him to see how stuff works I don't suppose yours would like to have lunch with an Imagineer?
Our favorite thing to do is stay really late during emh hours at MK and walk up and down mainstreet with practically no other people. It's like owning the place for a while-- having it all to yourself

There is also the Richard Petty Driving Experience - the ride along is $100 , don't know if your DH's anxiety would stop him from enjoying circling the track in a professional race car.
Here are some ideas for things to do that are free - plan to spend some time wandering around World Showcase, browsing the countries, head out of International Gateway and wander around the BoardWalk, visit the various resorts there. At the Magic Kingdom, head for the Polynesian beach and watch Wishes and the Electric Water Pageant from there.
As far as the other ideas go that cost money, I like the idea of a tour - or maybe rent a boat for half an hour or so? We did that from Downtown Disney and went up past Saratoga Springs and up to Port Orleans. It was very relaxing and reasonably priced.
What about just a nice quiet carriage ride around one of the resorts? It would be something for just the two of you. Noone to make a big deal about it and cause your DH any extra anxiety.

My DH and I, after dinner at the GF, went on a walk at sunset around the seven seas lagoon. The walkway between the Poly and GF is great for a walk, it was nice to be alone after being in the crowds all day and the sunset was beautiful.
Are you staying on the property? Maybe you could have room service deliver a nice dessert and/or some champagne to your room? That shouldn't be too expensive and it would be very private. In fact, when you check-in be sure to mention it's your honeymoon; you might get a nice surprise in your room! Or, just have a day when you haven't planned anything. Make it a leisurely day; whether at a park, or Downtown Disney, and just enjoy the magic and beauty of WDW and the gift of being with each other.

When we snuck away we did Keys to the Kingdom. It was really nice, the description didn't do it justice. We also just walked thru World Showcase and stopped for a drink here and there. Not something you can do with kids around! If he doesn't like attention, you should plan something for your room. Room service dinner with champagne, or something similar. Maybe a spa treatment? massage for two?
