As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

It's lazily snowing big flakes in MT today with no sign of spring today. The boys and I decided we'd try homemade pizza tonight. I used Nick Malgieri's recipe in How to Bake for the dough. I'll be firing up the pizza stone at 4:30 and allowing it to get super hot for about an hour. We've got pizza sauce, low-fat mozzarella, and veggies galore.

We do it quite frequently. I even have three (used to have 4 but DD did something with one of them) 8-inch pizza pans so I can make individual pizzas for all the pizza-eaters in my family (DD is not crazy about it right now). I just split my dough into 4 portions; fix three of them and freeze the fourth. That way I don't have to make dough for the fourth meal of pizzas.
DJ and I have a pizza party every Friday night. We buy a bunch of inexpensive, store-brand pizzas when they go on sale and stash them in the freezer for pizza night. Each week, we pick different toppings and we both enjoy putting the pizza together without all the mess of trying to cook with a 5 year old - alone, with no one to help clean up the mess he's bound to make the second I turn my back to put the pizza in the oven.
With the pizza stone, the always come out nice and crisp and crunchy on the bottom.
I think he has more fun helping me make the salad to go with it, though. Last night, we had iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes, baby corn, bamboo shoots, and sliced black olives with this awesome new dressing - Newman's Own Light Lime Vinaigrette. Oh. My. Word. It is so flippin good!!! DJ loved it.
I just made homemade pizza tonight for supper. I use a pizza stone too.
Dh likes all the meat and very few veggies. I like veggies and no meat. I split the pizza in half and that way we each get what we like.
I make pizza about every other week.
I cheat and use a Boboli crust, but we have homemande pizza on our regular menu rotation. We really love to make a white pizza. Being from Texas we had never heard of white pizza until we found NY Pizza Co. here. The owner is from Brooklyn and has been making Pie for over 30 years. He really knows his stuff.

So funny I also made a pizza tonight! It was a family tradition in my home growing up to make a pizza every Saturday night
and watch tv together (ie Disney movies, sitcoms, etc) so I wanted to keep the tradition going.
I made ours with extra meat, cheese and veggies and even though I have a pizza stone, it just doesn't taste like the
"family pizza" unless I bake it on a cookie sheet with sides. I know that sounds crazy, but it really works. We also cut the
pizza with our special scissors. They are special because they are used for pizza cutting only and that is also a family tradition.
I have made homemade pizza's a few times. My kids enjoy deciding what goes on it. Is it just me, or does it seem like by the time you buy all the ingredients, it would've been cheaper to order out??
