I FINALLY got a picture inset into a post, rather than attached as a thumbnail. I did this by uploading the photo as an attachment, then opening it and copying the URL as found in the Properties, then pasting the URL at the point in the post I wanted the pix (preceeded by [*img] and followed by [*/img] - sans *), then removing the attachment. Is there an easier way to do this? My on-line photos are on Shutterfly and Flickr, neither of which can be used, so I have to get the photos from my computer. Short of creating my own web page so that I can go directly to them, is there an easier way to do this? I did read Jennifer's post from 2003 about imbeding photos, but the link on how to upload to the server is outdated and takes me nowhere!

You can't remove the attachment if you upload a picture to the boards, because then your URL doesn't work anymore. You need to leave the attachment, and if you want the picture in your text, do as you did and insert the URL with the "mountain" icon.

The picture is no longer showing up in your "test" post (all I see is a red X) because you deleted the attachment, and hence the URL is no longer valid!

Use Photobucket instead of Flix or Shutterfly. You simply upload your pictures off of your computer (or websites) directly onto their site, and then they give you the link to put them into your signature automatically.

To put photos into your signature, when you're in the edit signature page, click on the little box above the typing area that looks like 2 mountains and a sun. Then, just paste the URL that Photobucket gave you when you uploaded your picture. Save, and voila!
