Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

akleos ? got me wondering...

Have you seen other actions/behaviors @ WDW where those people were escorted out of the park or detained? If so, what was it and where?

It was a few years ago at a PassPorter meet actually.. During MNSSHP a bunch of PP'ers had met & a guy dressed up as Freddie Kruger came up toJoe, (Elliotsdragon on PP) & tapped him on the shoulder scaring the bejeebies out of him.. he was doing that to several other guests & A few minutes later he was escorted out of the area. I'm not sure if he was sent out of the park but from the way they were removing him I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't

I have only heard about really strange behaviors, I luckily haven't witnessed any. Outside of the normal - kids out of control and the parents letting it slide. Temper tantrums and parents unable to control the kid. I once saw a Mom spank her kid in the bathroom - THAT was awkward.

I hope I never HAVE to witness stuff like that (*Please note this sentence refers to the spitting on people and the Freddie Kruger incident mentioned above, NOT the spanking I just mentioned. I understand that I did not make myself very clear and I wish now to clear it up*) I mean, isn't that why we go there? To get away with stuff like that?

I have to say, though, the worst bizarre-o behavior I ever witnessed was in the NYC subway. There was a homeless woman (I'm assuming she was homeless, I really don't know) who was singing a Whitney Houston song at the top of her lungs, while her lowers were hung over the edge of the platform taking a doo-doo! It was 10 a.m. Yeeeeah... that image disturbs me to this day.

Ummm... I'll need to know exactly WHICH Whitney Houston song she was singing in order to get the full effect! I mean, "Saving All My Love For You" or "I'm Every Woman" would be much funnier than "How Will I Know?"...

Oddest behavior I've witnessed at WDW was the time when I was either 5 or 6 and was patiently waiting in line to meet The 3 Little Pigs when some older kids ahead of me started hitting them in the head for no reason! The Pigs had to leave suddenly to protect themselves and I don't remember what happened to the kids, but I remember being scared for a little while after that. I alomst think they had sticks, but now that I look back on it, it was probably just their hands. !

It was the "AND I-ee-I! Will al.ways love YOU-OU-OU-OUUU-OUUUUU!" song. I don't even know the title of it (watch, the title is "I will always love you")

I think "I'm Every Woman" would have been more comedy, though! Sick and wrong, yes, but comedy nonetheless!!

I really mean no offense, but either parents ignore their children's bad behavior, or they take them to a more discreet area to deal with the issue......I don't think it's fair of you to bash people for not addressing their children's behavior (which upsets you) in one sentance, and then complain about walking in on a spanking in the bathroom in the next breath (which apparently is not good either). Unfortunately, there is no magic pixie dust to make children behave 100% of the time, regardless of where you are. Parenting is not always convienent, and children aren't always angels, in spite of our best efforts. Kids don't change their temperments or change the way they were raised to act just because they are on vacation. If it bothers you, check out some adult only resorts in the Caribbean. It's DISNEY for goodness sake....the place is the #1 FAMILY destination in the US.

Wow strong words for me that I don't think are warranted, because as I said... parents letting it slide is normal. I think you misunderstood my meaning entirely. When I said "Stuff like that" I meant spitting teenagers and people cursing at one another, not parenting styles.

At MGM three years ago, DH and I had the pleasure of meeting a rather drunk young lady, who was celebrating her 21st b-day at WDW. SHE was NOT happy! She was sitting on the bench in front of Sid Cahuega's, cussing up a storm.
F*&% Mickey Mouse!
F*&% my friends!
F*&% this place!
F*&% birthdays!
F*&% Disney!

She was on quite a roll, and we tried to make her feel better. (she had been ditched by her friends becuase they wanted to ride ToT and she didn't) We were not able to get her to stop cursing, so eventually DH flagged down an officer, and they escorted her to Guest Services. I don't know what happened to her, but we still talk about it.

Like I said, don't be offended. I tried not to be offended reading the qouted comment (but I was). But it got my goat. It gets a little tiring to hear others complain about children's behavior at Disney. Parents should have a voice that gets heard too, not just those who opine about rude/misbehaving children. I just wanted to point out that there are 2 sides to every situation, and maybe a little more tolerance should be expressed. I am not condoning publicly humilitating or abusing your childern, but "you can't have it both ways". Kids will be kids, and as parents, we try and do our best. Some are just better at it than others.

Okay, back to topic...I would have to say the worst I ever witnessed was when Dl had to escort some wack job off property cuz he had issues w/ Dl officials shutting down attrections to the general public so Michael Jackson could ride them with some kids he had w/ him. (This was mid to early 80's. Before all the trial trial stuff.) I understood both sides of the issue, so it didn't bother me them shutting the rides down for a 1/2 hour or so (and it was only one ride at a time...), but this guy was off his rocker about it. I guess it takes all types to make the world go round...

Hi guys,

I know sometimes on message boards it is hard to 'see' a persons expressions or actual feelings & some comments can be misconstrued.. with that said.. please try to keep to the original topic & not add personal feelings..

Have you ever seen anyone escorted out of WDW for bad behavior?

Thanks for keeping this a friendly place!!

This might be TMI.

My sister and I were attending the parade taping in 2005. If anyone has ever been to a parade taping you know how busy and congested it can get (the audience, all the crew, directors, choreographers not to mention all the cameras, lighting equipment...etc.) Anyway, I saw a little boy with his mom and dad near the curb in the hub getting out a plastic bag. Then to my shock and disgust the little boy pulled down his pants and went potty in the bag! This was in FULL VIEW of at least 100 people...he wasn't hiding behind a tree or something. A CM went up to the dad and the family was taken somewhere. EEEEWWWW
