As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). We have to get ultrasounds every three weeks now to make sure my HBP isn't affecting him, and I'm happy to say that so far it's NOT. He looks like he's really thriving in there, the placenta and amniotic fluid look good, and it appears that his "maleness" has dropped and I was told he's definitely still a boy. He's 3 pounds (a true henway! ) and measuring 2 weeks ahead. We got to catch him doing practice breathing--something he wasn't doing 3 weeks ago.
Then it was my turn to get checked. I thought for certain that the High Risk OB was going to tell me that he'd have to come out early and by c-section. Instead I was told that the constant pulsing sensation in my body was normal (phew!) and that we'd need continued monitoring but that I should expect to make it to term and to deliver normally. It was good news---but I was getting a little used to the idea of having a scheduled c-section. My mother died young which has caused me a lot of health anxiety in my life and my father has had 3 heart attacks since he was 44 so I've been fairly nervous about this HBP issue (I keep picturing myself having a stroke during childbirth) but I did manage to leave that office feeling very empowered and healthy, and proud of giving my little boy nourishment and a safe place to grow.
I have a regular OB appt tomorrow, so I should find out what my work situation will be. I don't know if he's going to send me back to work or not. Ideally I'd like to go back at a part-time basis performing less-stressful duties. Thanks for letting me share, and wish me luck!

******UPDATE**********
Welp, I'm back from the OB and my BP has definitely gone DOWN (I couldn't believe it b/c I was just as nervous as the other times) but it was still at the high end of normal (136/90-------before the top numbers were in the 160's and higher, but I don't recall what the bottom numbers were) and even though they suspect some "white coat syndrome" that I probably won't be going back to work until after delivery. I was hoping to get back and kind of create a new position for myself for when I return from maternity leave, but it doesn't appear to be in the cards. I'm continuing the meds that I'm on and I have to start taking my BP at home just to see how it's doing when I'm totally relaxed.
It's a beautiful day out, I was tempted to go run some errands and buy a new top or something, but I could only think "what if I got in an accident" and scared myself back home. The place could use some vacuuming, perhaps I'll do that. Thanks for all the positive vibes, All---they mean the world to us!

I DO love ultrasounds--when I know they've gone well. I got a little freaked out about a kidney issue he had at 20 weeks, but it cleared up just as my OB suspected it would. Much of the time I just lie there scared stiff that they're gong to find a third eye socket or a warped brain until they start smiling and assure me that everything looks great!
I forgot to mention that he was breech 3 weeks ago, but now he's head-down. When the tech was trying to get a profile shot for me, I was shocked when I saw MY nose! And then he repositioned and I swore he looked just like Wally, it was amazing.

I was sitting here watching the news and getting more and more depressed as each story moved on and then I saw your post and your pic. Now I am ready for my day as I can start it on a very positive note and with a smile on my face from seeing that tiny foot and remebering those great days of anticipation. Good luck!! I hope you can go back to work part-time.
