Forums Closed

As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

The ~See What A Little Wishin Can Do~ trip report *updated 7/01*
The ~See What A Little Wishin Can Do~ trip report
Cast of Characters~
Me (Kim) 32 *lover of all things Disney*
DH (Kory) 32 *my understanding husband*
DS (Dakota) 13 *my goofball son*
DD (Mariah) 9 *my sweet daughter*
DD (Mikaela) 6 *my little sunshine*
Well this trip report begins with my purchasing the PassPorter Walt DisneyWorld book. I fell in love with this book!! I then found all of the wonderful websites and PassPorter of course. I would spend hours enjoying all of your trip reports and living vicariously through them. Our trip would not have been the magical trip it was without all of your wonderful tips and ideas. So now its my turn…I would love to share our trip with you, so as my dear Mickey would say “on with the show”.
We finally decided on a date for our trip April 24th ~ May 3rd. It was time to pick a resort and it was between Fort Wilderness Cabins and Animal Kingdom Lodge. We were torn for quite awhile but finally decided on the FW Cabins, the main deciding factor was the cost, we figured we could use that extra money to do a lot of fun meals and shopping.
Our itinerary eventually became this…
25th~ Magic Kingdom
26th~ Animal Kingdom &
Spirit of Aloha Show 8:00
27th~ Magic Kingdom
28th~ Epcot
Princess Storybook Breakfast @ Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
29th~ MGM
Lunch at 50s Primetime Café
30th~Magic Kingdom
1st ~ MGM
Lunch at Sci-Fi Dine in theater
2nd ~ Epcot
3rd ~ DTD & trip home
Well its nice to meet you all and I am excited to share our trip with you.
Coming up next~ Our Trip begins

Re: The ~See What A Little Wishin Can Do~ trip report
Next up…Magic Kingdom with a couple of silly chipmunks
Today was our third day, we decided to spend it at Magic Kingdom, it was morning extra magic hours but we didn’t make it in time. The park was open tonight until 11:00 so we had plenty of time to play.
We walked in and there were quite a few characters out. The kids had a good time getting pictures and autographs.
We decided to stick together as a family and do some of the things that we missed last time. We headed over to Adventureland, and it was time for us to take a ride on the Jungle Cruise. Our “skipper” was funny and did a good job.
While we were there we finished up some other things on our “must do” list. Mikaela and I had watched The Enchanted Tiki Room, but I wanted to show Kory, Dakota and Mariah, I was curious what Kory thought about the changes since I was disappointed. He felt the same way that I did, we hope that they will change it back.
Next we headed over to Tommorrowland. We all tried out Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin and loved it. It was so much fun and the girls decided that they liked it too. After we went on Buzz I wanted to get the girls picture with Zurg like I did with Dakota. There was a line at first and then people just started shoving there kids in there, its frustrating when people are so rude and don’t seem to care. I eventually got a picture and we headed out of there.
We walked around the corner and saw Chip and Dale. There were just a couple of people in line so we hopped right in. We got to our turn and Dakota goes up first, Chip and Dale immediately turn him around and start looking through his backpack. They grab Mikaelas sunglasses out and Dale puts them on his nose. Chip is trying to read some of the stuff we have in the backpack but he has it upside down, he is scratching his head trying to figure out why he can’t read it. Kory goes over and turns it right side up for him.
They write some funny things in the autograph books like Chip and Dale with a arrow pointing to Chip that says “the cooler one” then they scratch out the picture of Donald and put hearts around the picture of them. They are definitely my favorite characters that we have seen, and so much fun!!
We head over to ToonTown, Mikaela wants to show everyone Goofys Barnstormer since she loves it so much. The wait is short again and we are flying in no time. Dakota and Mariah tell Mikaela they are impressed with her for going on it and she is very proud.
We go over to Donalds boat to cool off a little. They have a good time and Mariah gets completely soaked.
We head back over to Fantasyland and go for a spin on the Mad Tea Party. Dakota and Mariah go on one, and Kory and Mikaela go in the other. Kory spins it really fast *much to my dismay* and I am amazed that Mikaela can even walk after it is done.
Tonight they are showing SpectroMagic and we are very excited to see it. There are two shows tonight at 9:00 and 11:00. We decide to see Wishes at 10:00 and SpectroMagic at 11:00. The second showing of SpectroMagic seemed to be a lot less busy, so we are glad we waited for it. Mikaela loved it and we decide to make sure and bring the video camera along for our last day at Magic Kingdom so that we can always watch it!!
Memories of our third day…
The weather was…warm and sunny (high 80’s) *needed a jacket at night for Wishes and SpectroMagic though.
The best thing today was…seeing SpectoMagic *pretty cool*
The worst thing today was…evil people who don’t think they have to wait in lines *hehe*
The funniest thing today was…Chip and Dale *they are so silly*
Today we tried…SpectroMagic and the result was…Mikaela loved it, we have to make sure and record it!!
The most magical moment today was…Chip and Dale (my favorite character interaction)
Next up...Breakfast with Royalty

Re: The ~See What A Little Wishin Can Do~ trip report *updated 6/8*
Part 11~ Back to the 50’s
Today was our MGM day. It was early magic hours but we didn’t make it in time for them *I don’t think we ever made early magic hours* When we walked in we saw the Sorcerers hat and had to get our picture underneath it. I love Sorcerer Mickey, he is my favorite!!
We headed over toward Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I saw this show when I was a teenager and loved it, so I wanted to show the kids. They really liked it, I love the part where all the fish are swimming around in the black light.
Dakota and I had a date…time for Tower of Terror *insert evil laugh here* Kory took the girls to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adv. I have done this ride before, but its Dakota’s first time. I wouldn’t tell him anything, it’s more fun when you don’t know what’s going to happen. We had fast passes, so it was super quick and we were in the library watching the show, Dakota is getting nervous. We get to our line and we are in the middle section of the elevator. Its time to get in our elevator and we have some fun crazy guys in our elevator and they are immediately screaming and it makes it even more fun. **spoiler, please don’t read if you don’t want to know** we start to go up, and Dakota is getting ready and holding on tight…then the doors shut and we go up again, the doors open and we start to move forward. Now he doesn’t know what to think, the doors open again and we see outside, pause and drop, I think we dropped 3 times and had 2 minnie drops, we are screaming and laughing and having the best time!! When we leave I get a picture of the picture.
Dakota and I head over to the HISTKMA and find Kory and the girls. Holy cow it is hot in there!! Its time for our ADR at 50’s Prime Time Café. We are so excited about this, I read the kids the description of it in Passporter, so they are all ready for some fun.
We have a short wait. I love the waiting area with the old style couches and the knickknacks, the kids sit down and watch tv. They call us back to be seated, and we only had a 5 minute wait, not bad at all!!
Our “mom” comes and lets us know all the rules…no whining, no tattling, no elbows on the table, and you must finish your food to get dessert. I order the potroast, Kory gets the meatloaf, Dakota gets a burger with fries, Mariah gets a hotdog with goldfish crackers, and Mikaela gets chicken strips with fries. The food is really yummy.
Kory and Dakota come up with a plan to have Dakota put his elbows on the table, but hide a crayon so when our “mom” comes he will show her the crayon and say “but I was coloring” our “mom” said it was ok to have your elbows on the table if you are coloring. So “mom” comes over and sees the elbows on the table and calls him on it, he shows her the crayon and she calls him a brat *ha ha*
Mariah doesn’t want to finish her goldfish crackers so she hides them in the bottom of the basket, and puts the paper on top of them. When “mom” comes over to grab our plates Kory pulls off the paper to show her and she tells him no tattling. She has everyone on our side of the restaurant tell him “shame, shame, shame” I got in the clean plate club and “mom” has everyone clap for me.
Dakota keeps putting his elbows on the table, and eventually gets caught. Our “mom” makes him stand up and sing “I’m a little teapot” to everyone. I love it!! I should punish them like this at home, at least it would be entertaining.
We look at the dessert menu on the viewmaster *so cool* and the girls get sundaes and Dakota and I get s’mores to share. It was sooooo good, if you like s’mores I would definitely recommend it, so yummy.
We had the best time here, it was our favorite of all of our picks. We would definitely go back on our next trip.
Next up…meeting Sorcerer Mickey & first time seeing Fantasmic
