As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

On the Morning of August 19, Got up about 5 got clean up, dress, ate breaks fest and headed out the door by 6:40 to go pick up my dad. We were on the I-5 by 7:30. Seem like a long drive but we got to the Holiday Inn about 9:20. Unload everything in the room and walk down to the convention center to the D23 expo by about 10ish. On the way to the Disneyland hotel I told my dad w can cut trough the hotel and get to the CC. But most of was block from their renovating. So I had to figured out how to get to the walk way that goes by the PPH . But we found the way (well I did any ways). When we got to the convention the were a line of people already there. It didn't take us long to get in and we had a very nice time looking at everything. To me it had a lot more space to move then the Comic Con I was at it July in San Diego. Her see for you self.
We got through with the Expo about 3 and headed back to the hotel. On the way I took Dad through the CA Grand hotel. He like WOW somewhat, he also did say it a grand size of the Shades Of Green in WDW. I was able to see an accessible room for my web site. It was pretty neat. Here are some photos, but it will be up on the site during the week sometimes. Attachment 49592Attachment 49593Attachment 49594Attachment 49595Attachment 49596
We went out to the Disney Downtown Exit of the hotel and had a little lunch at Catal Restaurant & Uva Bar. Then went to the hotel by 4:30 rest up a bet.
Part Two of August 19.
At about 5:20 I went to the Disneyland Hotel to wait for a Passporter meet up with Janet's family (JanetCatherineB) which were going going to show up at 6 at Goofy's Kitchen. Since I was fast I got there in about 15 min or so. I was early but was able to look around the little lobby area that is before the restaurant. It has old Disney stuff like pictures of the hotel and goodies that Disneyland used to sell. When the family finally came, we meet each other and had a great time. Take a look.
After dinner (8:00) they went with me to the Monorail station at said our good byes boo who until next time. So I went on the monorail to the park to meet up with another Passporter, Sandy (Sandra Bostwick) We rode Jungle Cruse, watch Fantasmic. We meet up with another Passporter Angie (A.Daley) right after the show and started walking to the Monorail Station on the was we were right in the middle of the fireworks show in Fantasy land . Then we said our good byes, then I went off to catch the monorail then to the Inn. it was 11:00 by the time I go in.
August 20 Disneyland Park.
I try to remember everything been awhile since I thought about this. I'm using my pictures to remember lol.
Ok We walk from the hotel to the monorail station in DTD and took the monorail into Tomorrow land. According to my pictures we went on the mark twin. My dad seem to be relax on that ride. Then we decided to head over to Tom Sawyer's island (I still call it Tom Sawyer). That was fun I was able to go though a cave with my wheelchair and I used my head light so I wouldn't hit or get stuck on something. It was a bit nerve wrecking since you really can't see the level of the ground. After that we wonder around the island. It sad they don't have the fort open, I was to young when they did have it open. So I don't remember what it look like inside. WE started to get hungry so we start head towards the raft that brought us over. On the way I took some awesome pictures of the mark Twin and the Columbia as well as the river it self. Once we got back to the other side of the river. We head over to the Blue Bayou on the way I got great shot of the Hunted Manson. We go to the restruant had a good meal. But the only thing about it is that they put us right in path of the day light coming trough the door and it was as magical, my dad had a different opinion about it since he hasn't been in years, he thought it was fine.
Since no one wanted to read the summer report, I'm just going to end as it was a good trip. and went back in December with my mother and step-father. My mother just won free tickets to the park so another trip is in the plan soon.
I went to DL in May from the 19 to the 21 it was fun . Got to bring a passporter's daughter in with me by the extra ticket my mother have won. We had a blast.
No parks for this trip? I'm flying in early on the 8th. Are you near LAX? Would you and your Mom like to meet and see some of the other California sights on that day before I head to DL?

Leave a message when you are in LA heading toward your hotel. Then maybe get my mom to get up there like at 11ish. on the 9th so we can drop off our suit case at our hotel then buzz around.
