As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Crazy People, A Trip Report August 29 – September 7 Animal Kingdom Lodge/Kidani Village/Polynesian Resort
For those of you that don’t know who I am, allow myself to introduce… myself. I’m the one person everyone who knows me refers to as the Disney nut. You might also be that person that everyone refers to as the Disney nut. And you probably think I’m a Disney nut. I’m just that crazy! About Disney.
I’m currently sitting in the airport, waiting for my flight to board. It’s showing as on time, but I have my doubts. I’d been worried Danny was going to come between me and Disney. I mean Tropical Storm Danny. No real person is crazy enough to come between me and Disney.
I am lucky enough to come from a family of crazy people. Wait, that didn’t come out right. What I mean is that my parents are also huge Disney fans and love to travel to WDW. They also love to share Disney with their family and friends and are always ready to talk Disney. The thing that would make my DM and DF happiest in all the world is being at Disney with the whole family. That’s what this is.
I don’t have much time for details because we’ll be boarding any minute, so I’ll just give a quick list of the crazies. I’ll start from the oldest and work my way down. It’ll be my Dad, Big Ed, my DM, Mable, my brother Ed, my brother Eric, and me. Also joining us will be Ed’s wife Jackie. Eric’s wife Jackie is in Atlanta (they just bought a house 2 weeks ago, and her transfer came through. Eric is still living in Tampa waiting for a few more weeks). And then there are my nieces Erica (21) and Brooke (18). And my nephews, Noah (9), Daniel (7) and Isaiah (3). And the newest addition to the family, the only one who’s going for the first time, six month old baby Kamiyah (she belongs to Erica).
I’ll be at Disney the longest. I’ve got a lot of transferring to do. I’ll be staying one night at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Then I’m transferring to Kidani Village for 5 nights. Then to Universal for one day at the Portofino Bay Hotel. Then to the Polynesian for two more nights.
My parents and my brothers are arriving on the 30th and staying at Saratoga Springs. Eric is only going to be around for a few days and then will join his wife in Atlanta for the rest of his vacation. His birthday is September 1, so we’ll be celebrating that. My nephews are staying at Saratoga Springs and the girls are with me at AKV. I’m confused just typing all that out, so you can imagine how much planning I had to do.
We’re not doing any table service meals as a family, but I’ve got a few ADRs. It’s probably easier to just list out our itinerary.
Saturday, August 29 – Epcot. I’m meeting Meg (mcc0313) for dinner at Chefs de France, so if you can spare a few pixies that I won’t have any delays, send them on
Sunday, August 30 – Animal Kingdom (probably). The rest of the gang arrives around 4. I’ll meet them and we’ll spend some time at DTD and then head to the Magic Kingdom
Monday, August 31 – Blizzard Beach and the Magic Kingdom. We also are planning to do a Photopass session at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Tuesday, September 1 - Eric! Boma for breakfast (just me and my nieces) Disney’s Hollywood Studios all day
Wednesday, September 2 – the family’s doing Epcot. I’m doing the Backstage Magic tour, which I’m really excited about.
Thursday, September 3 – Animal Kingdom in the day, Magic Kingdom at night
Friday, September 4 – Universal Studios (for me, DM and DF)
Saturday, September 5 – Epcot
Sunday, September 6 – Epcot/Magic Kingdom. I’m dining at the Kona Café with Bob & Larry!
Monday, September 7 – who knows!
We’re using the Quick Service Dining Plan for the DVC portion of the trip, so I didn’t plan too many table service meals. I’ll be dining at the WCC during the Backstage Magic tour.
So I ask you this: what makes me crazier? The fact that this is my 5th trip to WDW in 2009? That we’ll be touring the parks in August with temps in the high 90s and heat indices are in the triple digits? The fact that I’m traveling with a six month old? Or the fact that I’m traveling with my entire family? You decide!
It’s almost time to board, so I’ve got to wrap this up. I have my laptop, so I’ll be checking in from time to time. Talk soon!

Fantastic! Another P-Sha Trip Report! I don't know how you do it, lucky lady, but I'm exhausted just trying to keep up. I hope you have a fabulous time, and that the heat and hurricanes don't hinder you too much.
with the trip and the family! We'll be waiting faithfully to see what exciting shenanigans you get into with the whole fam-damily!

How great another pre-TR/TR from P-Sha! I can't wait to hear about your
adventure with your crazy family. But I'm wondering if you are planning any
other trips to WDW this year? Will there be a 6th trip or are you sticking with
5???
I was so excited when I scanned today's TRs and discovered another Princess Sharon report was beginning! Yeah for all of us! And have a magical time! I love the cast of characters -- what a crew you'll have-- and your plans are super, too.
Well you are on your way. I'm so glad that you go so often because then I get to read your wonderful trip reports.
Have an awesome trip!

There's not going to be much "pre" in this "pre"-trip report, is there? Glad to see another report starting, though. I don't know about Florida, but our temps are only supposed to be in the 80's this coming week. Hopefully it will be slightly cooler for you, too! Sounds like you will have a great time, even if it might get a little crazy sometimes. Hope you make your dinner reservation this evening! Have a great time, I'll be looking for your updates.

ALl right .. another trip report from Princess Sharon. I hope there were no delays.
Is Dnephew Danny happy to have a tropical storm named after him so to speak? Ccan't wait to hear about this trip and the candy trail that your Dear Mom leaves in her path A new baby... a new kind of Disney experience to discover. It sounds like so much fun ahead for everyone. Does this mean "Pigment" will be in some family photos? looking forward to the updates
