Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Good Morning Everybody!!
Well this morning was weigh-in time again and I was thrilled to be down another 4 pounds!! Including my first "mystery" week where I'm sure I lost more than 1 pound, that makes 20+ pounds in 5 weeks! Simply put.....I'm flabbergasted! I'm enjoying the food that I'm eating and the discipline of the workouts every morning. I don't even "feel" like I'm trying to loose weight, that's how natural it feels for me right now. This feels good! I wish all of you this feeling! Just remember, you can do it! I know you can cause I can/did.I'm talking about a woman who at her heaviest in July of '01, at 39 years of age, weighed 230 pounds and wore a size 24!
Hope all of you have a great day and keep up the great work!
We all go through rough times, but the thing to remember is.....don't let it get you down to the point where you feel like giving up. Put yourself back in control, it's mind over matter, and keep on going! I made the terrible mistake of thinking that because I had lost all the weight I wanted to, and had kept it off for over a year, that I was on easy street. Won't make that mistake again! I know that this has to be a lifetime commitment for me and the easier I make it on myself, and again that's a mind over matter issue with keeping yourself in control, the easier it will be for me to maintain my weight loss. You have to do it for yourself! You're worth it!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-10/25

Congratulations Cindy!! What kind of meals are you eating? And how much of a workout are you getting each day?

I started over today, after I got on the scale and reality hit hard!! I walked for 30 minutes this morning and ate a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.

I doubt I'll see such fabulous results as you Cindy, but I hope I can keep on and see what I can lose by Christmas! Yikes!! The thought of the holidays coming up scares me - it's hard to stay in control with so many eating opportunities!!

Hope everybody has a great day!! I need to fill up my water bottle!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-10/25

Congratulations to you... and thanks for the inspiration... I've been losing very slowly since my son was born (well after the initial burst of baby loss) and lately have been feeling like its never going to happen. I knew I had to get some motivation after a customer told another employee at my work that I've gained some weight since last year. Not that it was any of her business anyway, (and I've actually lost about 10lbs this year)... but... the fact that my weight is even noted by someone else started to make me think... I've been reading the "pixie chicks" posts and you all are so supportive to each other so I have decided to get back on my weight loss program, and just wanted to say thanks!

Re: Pixie Chicks-10/25

Welcome to the Pixie Chicks Deb!! I carried around my baby fat for 20 years and I had gained 60 pounds!
Michelle, I alternate what I eat for breakfast between oatmeal with sugar-free syrup, Multi-Bran Chex with skim milk, and 2 slices of lite whole wheat toast with sugar-free jam. I like to get some fiber into me in the morning, along with 2 Viactiv Calcium chews. Lunch is almost always soup and fat-free crackers. I love soup and have been eating it for lunch for years. Sometimes I'll have some reduced fat peanut butter on a few crackers along with my soup. I also like to make tuna fish or chunk white chicken breast salad with fat-free mayo for sandwiches. Good sources of protein. Dinner is quite often a BIG chef salad with iceberg lettuce and a big hand full of spinach leaves, and all fat-free fixings like deli slices, cheese, Marzetti's ranch dressing, and croutons. Marzetti makes THE BEST fat-free ranch dressing I have ever tasted. Way better than Hidden Valley or Kraft. Sometimes I'll have a Lean Cuisine though. I love their pizzas! Last night I had a Boca veggie burger with a slice of fat-free cheese and pickles. I also like to make salmon patties a lot and will always have one of those cause salmon is also a great source of protein and it tastes yummy too! I like to snack on reduced-fat popcorn, fat-free/sugar free chocolate pudding, sugar-free jello, fat-free/sugar free fudge bars, apples, bananas, carrots, celery, and broccoli mostly. I don't count calories or carbs at all. I do watch the fat and sugar though. I also try to make a point to eat around 6 every night and then nothing else the rest of the evening.
I workout every morning 7 days a week, with stretches, stomach crunches and 2 miles on the treadmill and try to drink 8 glasses of water a day.

Re: Pixie Chicks-10/25

Wow... thanks for the tips, having soup for lunch is a great idea especially this time of year. Dinner is a little more complicated because I cook for my family, but I just need to start using my WW cookbooks again. (They'll never know the difference). My biggest problem is snacking and excercise. Hopefully if I get the excercise part going, I won't have time to snack . We'll see though, I started fresh this morning so hopefully all will go well this week.

Re: Pixie Chicks-10/25

Cindy! That is terrific and you *are* an inspiration!

I spent the weekend at the Mall of America at the Passporter meet (and with my parents), so 2 visits to the Rainforest Cafe, pizza delivery (twice), munchies at scrapbooking, CAR SNACKS did me in (not to mention the whole PMS aspect of things!). I'm not even looking at the scale until next week!
