Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Pixie Chicks 4/12/04

Ok chicks, I really need to get back on tract this week - last week was a disaster on the diet plan!

I'm not having the appetite to drink water, it takes me a little while to really start drinking all the water I should. It makes a difference when I do drink it, I'm not as hungry!

Hope everybody had a wonderful Easter holiday and is ready to jump back in the Pixie chicks wagon! I need all the help holding me in the wagon I can get!!

I'm ready to jump back on. I over did it yesterday and paid dearly for it last night. I was up from 2:30am until sometime after 6am with terrible stomach cramps . I am sure going to take it easy from now on. Only 100 days until our WDW trip.

You both can do it. Instead of water try flavored like propel or the veryfine stuff or even flavoried carbonated. When I need a break I like Crystal Light. Sometimes its too hard to just drink water ALL THE TIME. Don't forget to tell yourself everyday that you are important, and beautiful just the way you are. YOU CAN DO THIS.

Ok this is it for me too, I need to get back on track. I have to buy a swim suite in 2 weeks for the cruise
If that doesn't make me loose my appetite I don't know what would.

Re: Pixie Chicks 4/12/04

Hi, gals. I have been so happy with my new habits. I am still having dessert when I want it, etc. I have been walking the treadmill for 100 calories and then doing Denise Austin (which she says burns about 350 calories). The whole thing only takes about 45 minutes! The best part is I just feel energetic and that makes me happy. My attitude when I'm not working out is so sluggish and then I get sad/angry/depressed. As long as I work out, I am good. Plus my pants are falling down farther on my hips already. I guess the most important thing for me is understanding the weight will come off, just slowly. And that's OK. Everyone buckle up. It's back on track time

Re: Pixie Chicks 4/12/04

Hi all, I too need to jump back in the wagon, I have not been as diligent as I should be. I just found out last week that I will be going to a family reunion down in Georgia in less than 2 weeks. I know that if I lose a couple of pounds I won't look any different but maybe it would help me feel better about myself!

Re: Pixie Chicks 4/12/04

Good luck to all the Pixie Chicks who are struggling. I know we can do it since we're all pulling for each other. And congratulations to the PC's who are successfully noticing results!!

Well, I allowed myself to fall off the wagon a little yesterday and today, but tomorrow is a new day and I'm back to being serious about losing weight. I really didn't enjoy the chocolate the Easter Bunny left me and I'm looking at that as a victory! And yesterday I didn't eat much rice at all, even though we were at a Japanese restaurant and rice used to be one of my weaknesses! Yay! Another victory! I just have to keep having small victories and I'll be ok.

I am having a bit of trouble with the exercise part of my lifestyle. I did walk a lot today, but unfortunately, my bursitis started acting up in the middle of my walk home and I had to phone my DH to come pick me up. Thank goodness for cell phones! And tomorrow is x-ray day to see if we can find out why my wrist is sore and can't have weight on it (which has really interfered with my yoga routines ). But as long as I'm careful with what I put in my mouth, I should still be able to lose weight, it'll just be slower than I'd like.

I haven fallen off the wagon. I bought a bag of mini cadbury eggs and have eaten about 3/4 of it.

Re: Pixie Chicks 4/12/04

I weighed this AM, big mistake. Still no more loss despite careful eating (it was a *hollow* bunny and there's still lots left! ) and more exercise (still not enough).

I have started drinking 2 GF mugs of green tea an evening to help me sleep better. I think I'm one of those that has insomnia and then high cortisol levels, so I'm going to try some different things and see what helps. I've noticed the tea takes and edge off my evening munchies (my not eating all day catches up) and I am feeling drowsier earlier.

I did read somewhere that tea, coffee, etc will count toward your water consumption as long as it isn't calorie laden (sugar/cream). I know that's been an argument at my house for years (and I was right ), so that green tea is really kicking that up!

I think everyone is doing great, even those who are hanging on for dear life, b/c you are encouraging ME to do the same!!!

Thanks s!!!
