As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Good Morning Everybody!!
Congrats to us all!! Boy are we good!!
Jan, I'd never heard of "Skinny Cows" either until I went grocery shopping last week. I usually get these fat-free/sugar free fudge bars, but they didn't have any, so I was looking for something else and I saw these. They're not cheap, cost about $4.49 for 6 of them. But they are worth it! They are round chocolate ice cream sandwichs. The Mint ones had 2 grams of fat, 22 grams of sugar and 130 calories. Not too bad. They have a website: www.skinnycow.com
I don't know how I did this on the treadmill yesterday, but I managed to go 1.45 miles in 20 minutes! It was kind of a mix between a VERY fast walk and a jog. I really had to push myself cause that's quite a pace!! I'm positive that I'm not going to be able to keep doing it that fast, so tonight it's time to walk longer, NOT any faster. I've reached my limit for speed for now. Maybe when I get in better shape I can start jogging the whole way, but I'm not up to it yet.
Yesterday besides the apples for breakfast, I had soup and fat-free crackers for lunch. I usually have a Nutri-Grain bar and maybe a few fat-free pretzels for a snack while at work. For dinner I fixed steak stirfry. I saute sliced carrots, green peppers and onions then I add thinly sliced sirloin steak and add already cooked broccoli at the end. We roll it up in low-fat tortillas and have rice on the side. I had my big salad first and just 1 of the stir-fry roll-ups and no rice.
No skinny cow for dessert, since I ran out, but I did have a Little Debbie Angel Food treat. They have a raspberry filling and only have 0.5 grams of fat.
I am so inspired by everyone's motivation!! Wishing everybody a great day and I'll talk to you all tomorrow!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/10/03
Hi all,
I've been reading this section since I registered but didn't know if it was an exclusive bunch or just anyone could post. This past year I lost 90 pounds. I am jogging at least 2 if not three miles each day on my treadmill and longing to do it outside. Yucky NE weather prevents me. Treadmill faces the window for now. I have gone from a size 24 dress and pants to a 16/14. It was a combination of excersie and dieting.
Here is my dilemma-last night I dreamt(is that a word?) that b/c I ate all I wanted at Disney, I was my original size when we left to come home(only going for 7 days). I know this is impossible simply for the fact I will be pushing my son's wheelchair and it is a huge workout. Any of you have these type of dreams? I had to buy clothes for the return trip. Actually I think it was a nightmare .
Ate Grape-nuts for breakfast, grapes and oranges for lunch and fish and veggies for dinner. Tried to keep my intake of diet soda to 2 glasses. One cup of coffee and the rest water.
Sorry for venting I'm just scared to move in the wrong direction on the scale. Thanks for listening. No one understands. They think I have lost enough and should stop whining about it.
DebiX's3-keep at it. I started last year vowing to never excercise. I sort of backed into it though(meaning I saw a picture of my rear-end from Chrismas and that was it. LOL) Seriously though, take it one day at a time and before you know it you will be buying much smaller clothes. Good luch all and again thanks for listening.
Shelly

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/10/03
Cindy: we are "running together!" I've been trying to get my mile time under 20 minutes, but I seem to end up with 21:30, 21:21, you know how it is! Great job on your exercizing. . .let's keep it up!
I've jogged for seven days straight now, yay! Yesterday, I got my mile in at 22:00. Whew!
Yay for Debbie's GymDayThree!! Way to go, girl!
A big congrats to Teddy'sMom. . .wow. Amazing accomplishment! I am always afraid that everytime I try to lose weight I'm just going to gain it all back again. . .keep at it. You'll be fine and congratulations again.

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/10/03
Hi! Once again it sounds like everyone is doing well with healthy eating and exercise. Good job!
I braved the scale this morning and found out I had lost 2 pounds. Good. All the stiffness in my legs and back from shovelling snow and treadmill walking is paying off. LOL Oh yeah, and that eating right thing is working too.
Today's workout was at the store since I worked 6.5 hours today. I am within my points so far today, but I think I'll be brushing my teeth soon just to be sure I don't eat anything else tonight.

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/10/03
Hi All,
Got on the scale again this morning & I'm down another 3/4 pound so that brings a total of 4 pounds since Monday..
My co worker & I did the goofy scooter things today again as exercise.. boy they really give your legs a work out...
As for eating.. I sort of picked all day... Had an over easy egg & lite toast for breakfast
Lunch was hamburger patty ( from the school caferia ICK!) on a half bun
Then went grocery shopping & bought lots of healthy foods.. but when I got home I munched all evening...
Ate the leftover peanut chicken, had one turkey sausage & 2 low fat egg rolls ( Richard Simmons has the BEST recipe for low fat egg rolls.. if anyone wants it LMK) I also had a bunch of green beans
So, I know I went over my quota but I think it will be okay..
Tomorrow will be hard trying not to munch during the Steeler game... Wish me luck!
