As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Got up bright and early at 6am to get ready for our holiday to Blackpool . I saw to the cats and got the boys up and then had my shower.
Mum and Dad were coming to stay this week to look after the cats.
We set off at 7.15 and had a good journey to Perth. We had a nice breakfast at the Harvester.
We all had pancakes from the buffet to start and orange juice.
John and the boys had a cooked breakfast including bacon, sausages, chips, mushrooms, eggs and baked beans.
I had steak and eggs with mushrooms and chips which was tasty.
John and I also had coffee.
We then didn't stop again until the Carlisle services. Had a short stop there.
Boys were very good in the car and we arrived in Blackpool at 2.20pm.
We checked into our hotel (The Danescourt) and spoke to the owner who was very nice.
Nice room with a double bed and bunk beds for the boys.
After unpacking we walked to the South Pier which was just at the bottom of the street.
We all had a nice icecream.
It was lovely and sunny with nice blue sky.
John and I hadn't been in Blackpool for 12 years so it was nice being back.
We then went into Yates pub and John and I both enjoyed a pint of Fosters lager whilst the kids played pool.
We wondered about and we into a few arcades and the boys went on a roller coaster simulator type ride.
We then walked up to Blackpool Tower. We had a look in some shops and Owen bought 2 fidget spinners and they both got fluffy balls to play with.
On the walk back we went to a nice fish and chips restaurant.
I had fish, chips and mushy peas, John had a mixed meat kebab and the boys both had hotdogs.
Once back in the hotel, I Face timed Mum and Dad.
I then booked a 2 day ticket for the Pleasure Beach theme park online.
In the evening we went out for drink in Weatherspoons then back to the hotel for a pint in their bar.
Great start to your trip and hope the weather holds out!

Got up at 7.50 and we all got ready for breakfast.
Lovely breakfast of fried egg, bacon, sausage, beans, hash browns, tomato, toast, coffee and orange juice.
Boys had the kids bacon and eggs which they enjoyed. They also had some weetabix.
The Pleasure Beach Theme park was just a 5 minute walk away. We bought a 2 day pass.
Our first ride was a mistake for me, super fast horses! It looked like a carousel but much faster. Felt like I was going to fall off, my hands were red from gripping the handle! My horse was really high up too, difficult to dismount! Never again ha ha.
Next up was a rocket ride, bit like the one in the Magic Kingdom but it flies out further. We all enjoyed that.
Next up was Valhalla water coaster ride very good but very wet!! Viking type ride with flames and icy areas. Big drops which were fun.
We all went in a Full body drier after to try and dry off.
I went on the Ghost train with Owen and we enjoyed it.
Ross and Jason (his school friend we met up with) went on the ghost train too.
John and Ross went on the wild mice roller coaster. Owen was too short.
After we went back to the hotel to get changed as we were wet from the Valhalla ride.
It was now really hot and continued to be so. We had to get sun cream as I'd burnt a a little bit.
Next ride was a wooden racing coaster called the Grand National, my poor neck!! Felt like my head would fall off! I feel like this on Space Mountain too, getting old! It was a good ride though and the kids loved it.
Water caves was a cute boat ride through some caves which was nice. No getting wet!
Dodgems were next which were fun. Ross and Owen were our drivers, they did well.
Avalanche toboggan coaster was great fun. Quite a fast ride but very good.
We were all feeling hungry so had a snack.
Cheeseburger for myself, John and Owen.
Ross had a Footlong hotdog and he ate it all!
We then went to Nickelodeon Land which was aimed at younger kids.
Blue flyer coaster was our first ride there then we went on Nickelodeon streak which was another good roller coaster.
Owen and I went on the rugrats lost river flume ride, wet again! It was fun though.
Myself and Owen went on streak again then the ghost train.
John and Ross went on revolution which is a forwards then backwards looping coaster.Ross didn't like backwards part, they were at front! Later on he loved it and went on several times.
John gave Ross £20 to go on The Pepsi Max Big One! It's a very high roller coaster with a steep drop. Ross loved it. Myself and Owen went on the Alice in wonderland ride which was cute.
I then went on Infusion which is great inverted coaster twice. They are my favourite roller coasters.
John and the boys went on grand national again whilst I was on Infusion.
I went on The Big One with Ross and loved it. I've not ridden it in 12 years but do remember the long drop down.
I went on Avalanche with Owen again.
Donuts were then bought, I love the taste of fresh warm donuts.
We then went back to the hotel for a rest.
Got ready at 7 to go out, had lovely meal at Chinese buffet near hotel.
We then went to Yates for a carling and the boys played pool.
Weatherspoons was the next stop so we had a drink there too.
Lovely day out.

I love thrill rides so I'd be all over these! I saw a feature on the Blackpool amusement park on one of Rick Steves' Europe shows several years ago and looks like an amazing place!

Yes you would love them, specially the Pepsi Max one
We all enjoyed the same breakfast as yesterday except Owen had sausages and beans instead.
Pleasure beach again today and it was lovely and hot again.
Boys went on the nickelodeon streak coaster first then we all went on Revolution twice, I didn't even mind the backwards part so hopefully I'll enjoy E Everest when we're back at Animal Kingdom.
John and Owen went on avalanche afterwards.
Ross, Jason and John braved the grand national again, my neck wasn't up to it!
Myself and Owen enjoyed the rockets again whilst the others were on the national.
Ross and John went on a spinning ride which I declined ha ha
Owen and I went on Dora the explorer boat ride, it was cute but Owen said it was for 1 yr olds!
Very glad of the sun cream today as it was lovely weather the whole day.
We all went on various rides then I thought I'd try the Steeplechase. I vaguely remember this ride from 12 years ago but unfortunately I had forgotten exactly what it was like! John and I sat on a horse which took off along a roller coaster type track, quite high up at bits and bumpy! 😯
Never ever again, I'll definitely remember to avoid this one the next time we visit. Everyone else loved it though 😊
John and Ross went on Infusion in the afternoon, it was Ross's first inverted coaster which he enjoyed. I then went on it with him.
I went on the Dodgems with Owen and a man got out of his car in mid ride to check on his son. They quickly stopped the ride because of this, I've never seen anyone do this before.
Owen enjoyed the Big Dipper coaster with John and Ross. I think I had a coffee when they were on this so didn't ride that one.
Later we went to the South pier for a pint of fosters and crisps. It was nice and refreshing.
Ross and Owen had some candy floss.
After a rest back at the hotel we went to Pizza Hut.
John had a chicken BBQ pizza and I had a king of the ocean pizza with a creamy white sauce, king prawns, spinach and mixed peppers. It was lovely.
The boys had pizza, chips and salad. We all enjoyed the salad bar too.
John and I shared a Pitcher of bud which was nice.
Ross then had a chocolate milkshake and Owen had ice cream with a nice toppings bar to choose from.
We then went back to the hotel
